As GenieLord is absent this week, I'll fill in for him today.
This week has brought us some interesting news about the possibility of seeing Heroes 6 in reality. Indications that Heroes 6 might be in the making are discussed here, and Dexter casts some further light on what these things might - and might not - mean here.
Blietzkrieg777 has stepped up and helped out Daystar with the Finding Harmony competition, which is still on. Deadline for this round is October 6th, so there's time to participate yet. The Make A Hero contest and Converse Setting to Heroes 5 contest are also still running.

So I think the Weekly Altar Day will lose all his nice things, because when H6 will be realeased, the Altar of Wishes will (probably) be deleted

Altar of wishes won't be deleted. If I recall correctly, I think it was originally called just Altar of Wishes for HOMM4, and then when that came out, then it got changed to HOMM5 Altar of Wishes. i might be wrong though. If HOMM6 comes out, then this can just be changed to HOMM Altar of Wishes. It won't be deleted.

Ok,so it will be renamed (when H6 will have very long time from his releasion, and H7 will be in production) to Heroes 7 - Altar of Wishes
But I hope the "Every Wednesday - Weekly Altar Day" will remain also for H7

This forum will always be the Altar of Wishes for the next Heroes game. So if H6 gets out, then this will be for H7, etc.

Yes, the forum name was fairly recently changed to Heroes 6 Altar Of Wishes when it was apparant that development on Heroes 5 (including expansions) had been all but finished. Thus, the forum name will remain Heroes 6 Altar Of Wishes when (if) Heroes 6 comes out, until we have reason to believe that work on Heroes 6 has finished. Then it might become Heroes 7 Altar Of Wishes.

Fourth Altar Day
I've waited quite a while for this Wednesday, especially because I've seen so many good posts around here, and it's good opportunity to show that. So let's start:
Quality Threads:
-The Spiritualists: Reloaded. to Adrius.
-Shocking Suggestion. to Asheera.
-New Hero property: Stamina. Too bad I can't give Alc a QP
Good topics:
-Introducing: Pyramid. Indeed a nice suggestion, very freshening idea. Alc is following it more closely and will decide whether it gets a QP, if it's further developed.
Snatchs Concept - Second draft - I really like some of the new ideas there, but since it's a matter of taste, I would like to hear some of the members' opinions before deciding something.
-Finding Harmony Town Competition - Some of the recent entries are very interesting to read. Keep it up.
-Concept to a possible Heroes 6. This is very far from my taste, but I don't want to judge according to my own taste, so I want to see further members' replies and more discussion before making my mind.
Gnoll_Mage says he finally has the results of the HoMM6: what HC wants to see. That's what I want to see.

It's been an interesting week in the Altar. Finally, we got the results from the HoMaM 6 - What HC wants to see poll, and not surprisingly, the results have caused a bit of fuzz in some fan camps, not least the Dwarven fan base. If YOU have an oppinion on this and didn't get to vote in time, don't hescitate to comment on the results!
The Finding Harmony town competition is battling through a bit of dead waters, but Blietzkrieg77 still holds the rudder, so hopefully, we'll see more rounds. I think he deserves a for the incentive. Also, emilsn kindly stepped up and lend his time for judging the previous round.
Blizzardboy's Pyramid faction has benefited from some really good makeovers, and I think a is in due place here also. Hopefully, we'll see some of the exciting new ideas suggested here further elaborated.
Finally, I'd like to mention the Destroyable Dwellings thread, which holds some interesting discussions, and that Geny has been awarded a for his unwavering dedication for improving my own work towards quality in my crazy Heroes 6 project.

In the absence of GenieLord, I'll fill in with Weekly Altar Day this week also, although I'll have to keep it short, since I'm not at home.
We've seen several good threads this week, including a very interesting new Storyline and concept for Heroes 6 - After The Earthquake posted by Snatch - which I think is very worthy of a .
Another very interesting discussion with many exciting ideas by several posters is the Ressources thread by Asheera - hopefully work in this thread will continue in the upcoming week. Also, an oldie, the Finding Harmony Town Competition seems to have a lot of entries in this round, and a lot of interesting entries, which we look forward to see finished.

I think Maken's Arcadian faction is very interesting, and the thread has some potential. He needs only some encouragements to create a great faction, and I want to congratulate him for his briliant idea. What do you say, guys?

I'm very sorry Alc for not being around. In the last two days I was working to get 50 pages of homework in math and Physics complete, that the teachers gave us for the holidays. Then I went to Tel-Aviv to celebrate the finishing of the homework.
Anyway, the holidays end tomorrow (there are two months until Hanuka, which is the next obe), and hopefully I will have much more time for the Altar.

Ok, just to show how integrated we are here in the mod team, we do the work in Tandem, GL applied the QP's and I'll make a quick run-down on the highlights, and then he'll fill in further details tomorrow.
It's been a pretty interesting week, I stole a thread from the Temple because I thought it was so good. Look here for some very interesting suggestions for new Hero Skills, and add your own, if you have something to share. Hopefully, we'll get a nice and long list that we can all be inspired by. 's applied to Ebbafan and Nebdar for their contribution so far.
Broadstrong brought the Artifacts back to life with some great ideas of forging and enchanting artifacts, suitable for all the factions, not just as a racial skill of one faction (Academy or Fortress). This is a thing that we were thinking of, but he actually found a nice way to execute it. That deserves a .
Another promising thread about Resources and Research was started by Snatch today. It has some extra/alternative ideas to the concept of the resources as we know it from HOMM1-HOMM5. Do we really need those things? Read, decide, and tell us your opinion. This with the still active Resources discussion in Asheera's thread, this promises to bring some interesting new views on game management into the light.
Oh, and don't forget to look into the After The Earthquake thread which is quite an intriguing read. The story suggested there is wonderful. It can really fit HOMM6 perfectly. And last but not least, Lexxan has provided us with no less than 20 skill groups for the Heroes 6 community project - great work which earns him a (it's like give-away candy store this week ), and don't forget to look into it and share your thoughts. Are 9 schools of Magic too many, or can you simply not get enough spells to choose from?

All these QPs flying around indicate that you're ready to update, so I'll make a filler post
--------------------------------------------------
Moderator's Note:
GenieLord decided to abuse his ability to edit posts. Muhahahha.
This time the Altar Day is inside Ceph's post!
There are more than 10 new interesting threads. I enjoying reading so many creative ideas! Reading the Altar is a pleasure. So what we've had?
Three Ways System by Snatch seems like a great idea of how to combine factions and themes, by using upgrades. Snatch gets a right away!
We want to mention that we see and care about what people do for the community except of showing their own ideas. Zamfir has been helping a lot, and he god a for making some order, sorting and linking all the new threads here, and writing good tips here. Good job!
The entire front page is full of interesting threads, and I was linking some, but then I noticed I started linking most of the 1st page of the altar! So just go there and read it! Enjoy, and have a good week of great and creative ideas.

Time is flying, and it's already wednesday again, so let's assess the week that has passed. And, I must say, it's not been a bad week, I've particularly enjoyed reading the discussion on New War Machines, which has had excellent contribution from several members including Asheera and DarkShadow. I think Isabel has done a very good job on coming up with ideas and collecting feedback from other members, so I say a is well deserved.
Another thread I particularly enjoyed reading was Blizzardboy's innovative take on a Logistics Makeoover. Being one of the "classic" skills of the game that has been with us right back from the beginning, making a complete makeover is not only difficult without violating the game but also certain to upset the longtime gamers - however, I must admit he got me convinced, which is no small feat, and something that might be well worth a on its own.
Moreover, the Realistic Heroes 6 discussion was brought back to life, something which I think is always relevant to consider - how far should we stretch for realism when making the game systematics? And the Finding Harmony competition seems to be closing in on the end of yet another round, so if you want to provoke your conservative views on what a town should look like, take a look in there!
