I can say that the [size] tag would be of HUGE help in the Altar to make long suggestions much more readable by dividing into sections. I've been missing that one for ages, so I deffinitely support Asheera and Death here.

And if were afraid of spammers, then make them "secret" tags, i.e. don't list or link them in the kookabar. In that way, experienced users would know (and use) them, while random spammers wouldn't.

Also, the [colour=#XXXXXX] tag would be really, really nice.

Watching the OSM (and the VW in general of course) the last month makes this "fact" kinda doubtfull..

Just imagine all these threads like "K", "Namus" etc... I really don't wanna think about the upcoming threads if all those "new features" would be available.....

I already have seen a forum, where you can change size and color of your text. If this wouldn't be a 18+ forum (no, no porn , I would post a pic here. Size 48, light yellow, and just nonsense. 18+....keep in mind.

Oh, all these doomday prophecies!

Then make it an advanced feature that only gets unlocked when you reach Promising (+3 QP) status. Certainly, we don't have any promising spammers, do we?

Gnoll_mage introduced a hidden text feature once. But it seems that his idea doesn't work anymore (probably something to do with hosting problems).

Yep, the server that it was hosted on crashed and the hard drive had to be wiped.  Unfortunately, and stupidly, I didn't make a backup (or at least, if I did, I don't know where I put it).  Hopefully I will be able to remake it at some point.

I don't think there would be any need to limit any BB code use to members based on their quality count. It says in the CoC

Quote:
Threads which are created simply to be an eyesore or cause significant lag for members trying to view them will be penalized. This includes - massive quoting, filling the posting box with smilies / bb code, and stretching posts with either long strings of text or enormous photos.

So initially when something new shows up, people will go nuts with the new toy - and then it will settle down. Anyone who abuses it or violates this part of the CoC will be dealt with by the moderators.

I don't think it would be anymore of a problem than anything else in that regard.

How about BBCode tables?  No longer any need to do all tables inside Word, screenshot it etc..

As far as I can think, allowing large text would not cause the screen to stretch, except in the case that Asheera mentioned.

[table][row][cell]blah[/cell][cell]blah2[/cell][/row][row] etc. would probably work.

Why do you think it would be hard to implement?

It might be hard to implement, but at least you would only need to edit 2 files (I think), being the viewthread.php3 and post.php3 files.

I've done something very similar before, so I suspect it would be fine.

I think it's worth to make the [img][/img] function upload files directly from you'r PC, not only from Internet.

Huh? That function doesn't upload anything, it just references the images and retrieves them from where they are (uploaded on other servers). If one of those servers goes down, you end up without image.

How could it references your PC? What if you shut it down? People will not see images anymore (since it is referenced not uploaded) not to mention that your PC is not a server. (might suffer bandwidth issues and probably if you have a firewall might not even allow it)

What's the problem with how images are uploaded now? It's not as if it takes any great effort to post them here.
