Moon Landing
Hoax or real? Putting this thread up so the 9/11 thread can be pruned and put back on track.
A show called Mythbusters recently examined if the Moon Landing was a Hoax or Real. Now, while they used special effects to prove it, their evidence seemed compelling that the moon landing was indeed real. The photos, everything.
So, theories on if we should take this on face value? They are special effects masters. Did the technology exsist for the 'hoax' when America supposedly landed on the moon?
Many questions, few answers. So..what is your take on the subject?

I'll put a long and detailed post here after I'm done with my report.
To answer your post in the 9/11 thread Mytical: Even if there is an explanation for every of the 24 "moonhoax" questions, they still can't explain what on earth that CROSS does BEHIND obstacles. The photos were obviously edited and some things added/removed.. pretty un-skilfully tbh. ;p

Believe me I have some very strange conspiracy theories. Then again I am a odd person. Now I don't know how many of the 24 main things the Mythbusters tackled exactly. What I do know is that they took on the biggest of them. The 'perfect footprint', the odd angles of shadows. How visible one of the astronaughts were in a shadow. The flag waving in 'airless space'.
Now that doesn't mean the other things are not accurate, I am the first who will say that just because you disprove one aspect of something doesn't mean that all the other aspects are automatically false.
But..it does make you stop and wonder.
Also, you never really answered my question. Technology was not near what it is today. How did they pull off such a technical hoax?

Do you know if there are any links to the mythbusters one you are talking about? I myself like Mythbusters, but I haven't seen the video that you are talking about.

Kinda weird question. Is it easier to believe that they were able to fly to moon and come back with 0,0014% success rate (at year 1959, but, still..>_>?
I think it's wasn't so difficult to fabricate it, the technology wasn't that bad but it had limits (that explains why those crosses weren't corrected).
The world needed proof of US superiority. The cold war demanded victorious battles. Not with tanks and battleships, but with military and scientific achievements.

It will be here still in 2 weeks (hopefully).
I don't really care about America's Superiority (or lack thereof). Do I think we went to the moon? Probably. While it may be harder to concieve of them making it there and back then it being a hoax..too many things could have gone wrong for a hoax to actually work imo. That doesn't mean that there are not some other government hoaxes at work. Heck for all I can 'prove' the world is like the Truman Show (movie) and I am the only one NOT working for a movie company.
I've even had some weird things happen like people I have never met come up to me and say "It's you!" and seem all excited. So who knows.

It doesn't really change much whether it was real or not.
Does anyone here seriously believe that no one has ever landed on the moon ever

It changes a lot. Because if it was fake, and someone proves it was fake, it would be a good lesson to people who believe everything the TV says is true - and, let's face it, the more of those people exist, the more dangerous they are.
Besides, there were mass murderers after Charles Manson. Does that mean that it's irrelevant whether Charles Manson was a mass murderer or not?

That is the point
it proves that they can feed us with whatever story they want and the majority will believe anyway

Well they proved that the flag would react as it did in the video in a vacuum. So that is at least one thing that is against the 'conspiracy' theory.

Discovery also "proved" that thai boxers have knees more powerful than locomotives. I wouldn't trust everything they say there, since such "proofs" kinda limit the credibility of that channel ;p
also, some things can't be adressed (like the 500 degree difference NOT affecting a plain camera LOL).

This is what I call a "religion" and I think you get why
@xerox: no, you have "faith" that it's true
Quote: Well they proved that the flag would react as it did in the video in a vacuum. So that is at least one thing that is against the 'conspiracy' theory.
I may be a retard but I do not see how that could happen. I think it's impossible for it to wave in vacuum without any external forces (and gravity is constant).
Remember that such "proof" if you have seen on TV or something might be flawed as well
I mean people all the time see videos and then they either say:
1) it's fake
2) it's PROOF
how ignorant (2) can be. How can ANYONE prove ANYTHING on the internet/TV/media? It's just a matter of belief whether you take such a thing as "possible" or not.
Before bashing me saying that I am too pessimist about all the "media" stuff and that you are not so dependent on it (and thus do not agree it's a form of "religion") then let me ask you a few things:
What is the circumference of the Earth? How do you know? Who is the president? How do you know? What is the shape of the Earth? How do you know? How does the Earth look like from outer space? How do you know? Who invented the first computer? How do you know? What happens in the particle accelerators? From WHERE do you know all this?

Books?
Books can be biased too, of course, I'm just saying that the TV and internet aren't the only possible sources of information.
