How did you post on HC then?
If you have offline data, Google may be stored there (and in this case, your internet connection doesn't work at all for some reason)
Hmm do you have a firewall?

Quote: I've had some troubles with Internet Today; everytime I've started Internet Explorer (or any other browser), it would only display Google, but would be unable to find any other site beyond Google (which is my starting page)
it seems that I eithe have
1) some serious spyware on my PC
2) A virus
3) or a connection that fails every five seconds or so.
Has someone experienced something like that before? It's really, really annoying
Delete cookies and similar. Change the startpage then, and then se if it works. If not check your IP, are you on static or dynamic?
And what other browsers are you using?

The hard drive in one of my computers blew up a few days ago. It was only 2 years old
Every hard hard drive disintegrates eventually. Some just suddenly stop working. Some make the computer mysteriously go slower and slower (like the last one). Some make computer programs start skitzing for no apparant reason.
I'll put this in bold red letters to emphasize it:
If you have any kind of important information or file make sure it is kept in at least 2 different places.

Boy you scared the hell outta me
and with this, one of my older hard drives already broke, I still didn't learn my lesson (thankfully, it didn't broke TOTALLY, it had symptoms like shutting down for no reason randomly, etc..)
I always thought they have symptoms first when they warn you like "COPY THE DAMN DATA NOW BEFORE I GO OFF TOTALLY!"...
@Lexxan: I suggest you don't go there by yourself... now seriously (no offense) a noob like you would most likely **** something up. No pun intended.

@FoG: Ouch...
My motherboard supports cloning Hard Disks with RAID or something like that (I read the manual), unfortunately:
1) I need another Hard Disk. Best effects achieved if it's the same type and model as the one I have already.
2) It seemed pretty complicated to set up.
But I'll enable that thing one day, because of my pessimistic nature and your post here

For the most important stuff I use a 2GB flashdrive as backup.
Some extremely valuable files are also on my mp4 (4GB). Also have a second PC in reserve therefore I feel pretty safe

@Ash: I never understood RAID either and to me it seems like it would just waste too much power in excess (2 hard disks, over the whole period ofc). The idea, also is to do regular 'backups'. Sure, not as great as having everything 100% up to date, but less problematic, and flash is better than magnetic (though horribly expensive in comparison )
@Lex: Ok but even with someone else's help (even if that someone else was me), try to be careful. I know even I am

Yeah. I gave him the advice of deleting system32.dll since that should fix the computer right up.

In all seriousness though, I am helping Lex. He had a bunch of worms and trojans that I saw on his machine before, so he got rid of some of them. Now to just get rid of them all and possibly get his internet back working 100%.

More likely an internet tab self-opening problem.
Sometimes when i have lots of tabs open and close them at same time really fast that starts to happen.Impossible to close thru ALT+F4(it wil,but new window will come up and open them again)i have to executeit with command promtp, but until i get there with CPU going up every second i get frustrated.

First thing: Stop using Internet Explorer. Second thing: Get Mozilla Firefox (or even Opera, since that is very good as well).
