Poll Question:
The war In gaza
I'm pretty suprised that no one discussed this yet, except Genielord.
What do you think about it? I pressonally think i saw it coming, i mean they attacked the city of Shderot on a regullary basis,it was about time for retalitiion. i didnt think it was sirouse yesterday but..after zavai 8 ware given,and Hassan Nassrala Head of the hizbollah claimes to attack Israel soon this might increase tension already existing, a second front?

I know, you, and also a lot of HC members are israelians. But for me this is genocide againt the palestinians. No, I have nothing against the israelians (I'm telling this, before someone call me anti-semith or something) I even know few in the real life. But killing the palestinians isn't right. Especially, when this was their territory for long, very long. When I heard for this conflict, it just reminded me for the long genocide against the bulgarians practiced by the turcks for 500 years... Give them freedom...
Again, I have nothing against the people of Israel, like you Boris, but I dislike this bloody Israeli policy.

This doesn't mean that the palestinians are saints...

I'll like to vote for "Let palastine live", without "To hell with israel" Why no one tried Israeli-palestine federation or something?

To be honest I don't really care. I kinda expected it. This conflict has been around for decenia and it won't stop untill at least 80% of the population in that region is dead, I estimate.
Doesn't matter what happens, there will always be fanatics that act on their own and trigger a new wave of retaliations.

well,agree with me that some kind of action must be taken care of.
The attacks on israely city by palastinene people cant be overlooked, and cannot be efficently fought against if the citzen support sheild and assistent the miletent troopers?

And then what? The conflict ends up on Hiatus only to be continued a little while later.
Do you really think it will ever stop?
Europe has gone through 2 devestating world wars before it reached a point of relative peace, and it takes generations before old hatreds are forgotten. For example, I don't feel hatred for germans even though no doubt lots of ancestors were biased and did, as is the case in Palestina and Israel right now.

Well i've kinda expected that. I mean Gaza was one of the hot spots for years, so eventually a war breaks out. Again the news will be flooded by reports of massacre in Gaza. Why no one tries to use diplomatic aproach? War is a waste of workforce, young people and amunition.

Good point!  Would be nice if western world could stop giving loans to buy their weapons (from western companies) with.
But as long as people remain ignorant I don't see that happen either.
@Kip: Actually war is very profitable for those that sell weapons and the like.

Doesn't mean it's not a waste, unless you (you as in the generic, general you, not you as in moonlith) sincerely believe that casualties in war are needed and that the 'enemy' deserves it.

I have never understood what the conflict is about.
Sadly, I dont think there ever can be peace in that region.

They should try federation, where the both nations are with alike rights and maybe they should try to equlize the religion and the languadge, creating new nation, sounds pretty hard? Isn't it? But it was done before on other places. It will take many generations.
The other solution is freedom for Gaza and the palestinians, but the peace will least few years maybe, untill Israel or Palestine strike again...

Us(the civilians i mean) can do nothing but sit around and watch reports from Gaza about bombardments and killed civilians?
