I have to love this review, even though I must admit you are a MUCH better player than I am, as I gave up after losing my main to red and realizing I had not made a save yet. Autosave was not usefull as he attacked me.
I had enjoyed the game so much to this point though, that I edited the map to give more gold every week and replayed. I agree it is an excellent story map, enjoyed the whole thing. Just wish I wasn't such a wimp to have to add the timed event....
Thanks for another great review.

Well, if I ever have time again, I will reunzip it (I can't remember exactly what I changed) and try again. I have learned some things, so I will probably do better.
As for playing together, We will have to do that. I think it would be an enjoyable game, at least if you let me live long enough that we have some time to chat. Hmm... Maybe we should try a "closed" map
Main problem I have with 2 min turns is no time to chat. Of course you can always taunt when you attack with a superior army! Hey, it did happen! Of course, I found out later that my victory was over a heavy scout and not my opponents main.... Loss #2

Heh... so we have three ToH "appointments":
1)Me vs Hexa
2)Me vs Tristan (when we'll have the chance to meet in the Zone)
3)Tristan vs Hexa

Woock, since you play HOMM 3 now, would you like to join the ToH, and add another three games to that list?

Not sure what Philo it should be, but it should have some really good bonuses. That way I might actually be able to WIN a game.

I can't say for sure now .. have to see HOMMiv in action first.
Here's another review!
Map Name: Fire & Ice
Map Maker:
Map Type: ROE
Map Difficulty: Normal
Map Size: S
Positions: 2 H (Towers), 1C
Date of review: 19.12.2001
Description: none
This small map looks a lot more promising then most S maps do.
It looks like the mapmaker had tried to balance both sides.
He did this pretty well.
The relic Sword of Judgement however made a too big of an unbalance.
Remove this relic (which is the only one present) and you’ll have a very nice multi-player map.
This will also increase the difficulty quite a bit.
The mapmaker made some very good use of Subterranean Gates.
Which add much to the game play and excitement of the map.
I finished the map on Hard on my first try on M3W3D3 for a Final Score of 348 and an Dread Knight Rating.
Conclusion: Nice map for fast multi-player game
Overall rating: 6,5 out of 10 Hexa’s

I tried on impossible, I lost. The guy got Dimension door when I was coming home after getting the Fire Book (I guess there's an Air Book at his side), and he conqered my castle, and I attacked him and lost. But it's a really nice map. (I was red)

I agree about good WOG games, but it takes longer to make good maps, and even longer to make good WOG games, and it hasn't been out all that long...
I am not sure, but hard to imagine Lord of War taking less than months to make and playtest and edit and....
Anyhow, there are a few other good story maps I have played. One of my favourites is "Faery Tales" or something like that, a small story map from Scrowe. It is available on H3trio. Since I am not the great reviewer that Hexa is, I won't try to compete with him, but try this map out if you like this sort. It has no mobile enemies, no creature generation abilities, and is still lots of fun. All creature stacks are set exactly, no growth, and all will either fight you or join you. Almost nothing is random, so there is less replay value, but it is balanced very well, you have to choose your fights carefully, and very few of them are too easy or too hard.
To give an idea how balanced it is, I edited changing your 5 starting archers to marksmen, and it made the game WAY too easy. Now I am good enough to play it straight (which means it could be too easy), but it is still fun.
Ok, maybe a few more things, special win is to take a town, but you can't do that without doing everything else first anyhow. Special loss is running out of time, but you have plenty of time as far as I could tell, I think I won it with more than a week to spare. Playing time is not that long, unless you have to reload a lot. (possible since your army can't handle week of ?????? stacks) Anyhow, a nice map if you have a few hours to spare.

Tristan if you like those kind of map u should try
The Adventures Of Wren also a great map in which 1 more creature can be decisive.
Very very very customized map in which even a morale or luck change might make the map impossible to finish.
A real treat for those who want to master their battle skills (also a nice challenge for experienced players).
I believe it can be found on astralwizard.com.
