EDIT: If I were to get a 360, will I need an internet connection?
I highly doubt that my mobile internet can be connected to a 360 so I just thought I'd ask.
Seeing how the consoles get closer and closer to the computer I can imagine that something like "You can't play this game cuz you haven't downloaded the latest 360 service pack" or something pops up...
EDIT2: Also... will I need the huge amount of harddrive space for anything but downloaded demos and movies...? I mean, if I only plan to use it offline I might as well buy a super-cheap 360 Arcade right?
You don't need any internet connection, but if you do go online it will update your games by itself. You only need to update if you want to play online, and it usually updates rather quickly.
As for hardrive space, you need at least the smallest one if your going to be downloading anything. If not, a memory card will probaly do the trick. I would go with the Xbox Pro if I were you, I didn't have interest in the online when I first got my Xbox, but since I got it I can't live without it. Plus to get new content you need a hardrive.

Forget my last post! I have both now! Xbox 360 and PS3 80GB...
I have tested them both, and searched the internet for info! (yes i know! i haven't got anything else to do at the moment(how geeky is that?!))
back to the topic!:
Bying an xbox 360 will save you money on the console, and on most games! And there is much more games for the 360, and so much more people to play with online!
The controllers from the 360 is not good compared to PS3's, but that is a minor problem.. Internet gaming on the 360 is not as good as ps3's too (if you forget about all the people)
Bying a PS3 will cost you alot of money on the console and the games.
There is fewer games than on the 360, but that doesn't really matter..
The controllers are the best.. The internet too.
but the best part is the graphics! When you have plugged the ps3 into a full HD tv big screen, you'll prefer the ps3! It is so beautifull, and much more realistic than the 360...
But all in all, they are both very good in theire difrent ways

Quote: The good thing about the 360 is that you know when you buy a game you can pop it in and it will run perfectly. With a PC you may buy a $50 and find out your computer refuses to run it for some reason. Example being I can't run Heroes 5 for some reason on the computer in my room, but I can run Dark Messiah perfectly. Doesn't make any sense.
Thats engine and producers faults not the hardware(unless we really are talking strange).
