I don't carry a sense of entitlement. But your point about compromise is definitely  . People who are simply wrong are okay, because at least they've chosen to have their position. I was speaking to you primarily about the HCM's that you sent me. You were very much telling me what to do, and you are always very quick to tell me that I'm wrong, wrong wrong - when I do not see things as you do.
And again - I'm so not talking about Asheera right now. As far as I'm concerned, she never tried to talk to me about it - so there is not me and Asheera, its become something else.
So no, I wasn't saying that you dislike Lexxan - I have no idea what your relationship is with him, and its no matter to me. I was speaking about all of the times I've seen the exact same thing happening in other forums.
What I mean about compromise is that sometimes you will have to accept that you can't get what you want. No, I'm not talking about being shredded and fed to animals - I'm just talking about the way you deal with people.
You are very quick to judge and sentance, I just think you could stand to spend more time listening and trying to understand people.
I'm sorry - I'm not calling you a child here btw - but you should try to understand that at 35 I see the world from a different vantage point than you do. Likewise, as a moderator that can't have fun here anymore with people it again gives me a different outlook - I try to find the way to keep as many people happy as I can.
I will never be popular with everyone, I know that. But I see the community differently than you do.
Your point about HC being for the mods is kinda silly. HC stopped being for me a long time ago - I have too much work to do to enjoy it, and if I do find time to have fun here... well you've already commented on that - so what's the use?
I'm here as a custodian now, cleaning pruning watching.. so don't try to say that this is about making HC for me, thats just ridiculous.
With regards to mentioning other members I was in the wrong to do that, I'm speaking about HCM's and emails I've received - and since of course I won't make private public, I shouldn't have said a thing, I'll delete that from my post.

There I was, thinking HC is rather dull these days, when all the drama had actually been happening right behind my back!
Last thing I remember, Pan was a beloved part of the community who brought joy to the place with every post, and now suddenly I hear something about antagonists!
As for the removal of the QP system - instead of a select few saying "I remember a time before QPs!", there'll eventually be a select few saying "I remember a time when we had QPs!"
...and that's probably the most significant change we'll get. Aside from the whole, you know, whining about +/-QPs thing.
So yeah, I have no idea why I even wrote this post. Oh well.
...
So anyway, Pan, what ever happened to your msn handle?

Its funny you should ask about my msn, I've been trying to turn it on all day but am having some disturbing issue with router ports - disturbing because I haven't made any changes, so wonder who did?
But yeah - you missed it, I took off my white hat in favour of a black one, and the kids throw stones at me when I walk by
It all seemed to go bad when the Minks migrated away... lol

That was such a long time ago! I vaguely recall promising something that may have supposed to involve pancakes or somesuch, but I don't remember anything specific. You'll have to either remind me or make a new request or something.

Honestly, I really don't know how to communicate with you - short of saying what you want to hear, I've no other idea how to get you to listen.
It was an error again to say that you don't like the person or whatever, I mean that you're in agreement at least to some extent to the derogatory comment that was made.
ie:
You're only saying that because you're a complete idiot
If that is said about someone who you feel is being an idiot - its funny and light to you - but that doesn't change how the person its being said to feels...

And I have never once said that you can't have fun - just not fun at the expense of others here. Why is that so difficult?
What I find really amusing about all of this complaining about the way I do things is that you had absolutely no problem with it when i went to bat for you about the debate club. I didn't agree with it, I didn't think it was a necessary thing to have - but it seemed like something that would make people happy and I took your side and all the headache that went with it.
Funny how that goes, eh? And don't think I'm trying to imply that you should be nice to me because I helped you - not at all. I don't want that - I'm just pointing out as much as you think I'm here to ruin things for people, there may be one or two examples of how I actually do help as well.

Here is my current take on the issue. Persistent infringement required some sort of response, warning, penalty, whatever. Asheera understands she did something inappropriate. Case closed.

No, not even that. I don't think Lexxan is a QP hound in any way - or any similar thought in a similar situation. I merely enjoy seeing other people interact - if one person makes a light joke towards another person, it's often all good fun, regardless of whether the statement is true or not.
And I'm not having fun at the expense of others here.
I thank you for your help with the Debaters' Guild, and I would hardly say that you are all bad. You do your job well sometimes. But I must say that more often than not, I think you're wrong.

For crying out loud mvass what is all this..? You attack pandora by comparing her to newer mods as if she is a schoolgirl that doesn't know her job, criticize her all the way through and drag on an issue that has long been resolved. Is proving yourself right all that matters? Maybe you see yourself as a member saviour preserving and defending their rights or some such? And all this for what, a lousy penalty? Nobody appointed you with moderator duties so why do you let pandora deal with this?

Look. Maybe I overreacted and I'm sorry for that. That said, it's not the first time I had some kind of problem with Pan - not that it excuses my overreaction.
The penalty was wrong, but it's gone now, so there's really nothing more to discuss. I'm sorry to all I might have offended. I meant to criticize, but not to offend.

Come on, Pan. You know me better than to think I'm just pandering to the members by stating my opinion. I simply feel that perhaps a bit of discussion about this kind of controversy would help allay some of the members' frustrations when dealing with the Squad. I'm sorry if you feel I've had some hand in vilifying you in some way; you know that was never my intent. Call it a lack of foresight on my part. I know I really don't understand the amount of aggravation you must be feeling, given that I probably don't even do 1/10 of the work you do, but I hope you never think I'm here to do anything but help.
You're right, Mvass, about the penalty being gone and this particular issue resolved, but this kind of QP controversy has happened before and it'll no doubt happen again if we don't do something to help ease mods' burdens and members' frustrations. There has to be some middle ground between leaving things as they are and doing away with QPs altogether. But before anything else, I really think attitudes toward shinies have got to change. We mods have got to be more flexible and consider that we may be wrong in some cases and members need to be more understanding when we make a decision they don't necessarily agree with.
I really don't mean to sound preachy or anything, but it just makes me cringe when I see people I consider to be friends going at each other over something so ultimately insignificant and I'm done just sitting by to watch.
