But then other people complained because other people were negative and now the groups are argueing, and let me guess, repeating the same arguements over and over? Did I get it right? If then: Sigh...

My bet's the overall contribution will decrease significantly... unless there's a competition or something, like the ICTC (where the reward is the honour of winning)

In all honesty I think we'll be fine.
People will still make massive mods, people will still share their favorite strategies. I sincerely doubt those who undertake such massive projects as say GotP or reskinning units/making new factions do it just so they can have faster posting rights on HC.

I think that too many people will complain for the new system to even be given a chance. I think we should just let the mods work this through. Only time will tell how this new system will work and Val is doing this for the better. If its for the worse then so be it. We can return to Qp's...

Got to give the new system a chance.
All in all there will always be negativity & positivity, no matter what system we use.
People complained about it. Might as well try something that might work.
Not to keep the peace because we have enough of it. To make this place better.

Finally Val makes a good decision.
Rather than repeat myself, I'll simply quote what I said a couple days ago.

What do I think should replace the current penalty system? Custom floodprotection settings and silencing is more than enough.
What do I think should replace the current bonus system? There should be no system at all. This community is too small and everyone knows each other too well to have something this elitest. It will only create drama.

Now for the others that got all dramatic take one minute to consider that nobody took anything away from you, that nobody attacked or disrespected you much less butchered your mother, father and raped your cattle. Your quality posting is not in question lest it would not have been given a qp in the first place. Why getting all defensive and feeling insulted? Think. Only the system changed and why? For you. Don't be so ungrateful, I can understand some dissatisfaction but this is getting ridiculous.

What makes the system interesting.
For me I dont care lol. I am up for change but I think to some. They like to earn things for what they bring to HC.

Hmm, time?
I think that should count for something, its ours and we give it freely to the community...
In all of this, my main hope is that what comes for it is that the people will want to stay and be a part of the community and make it something good.. not for the sake of earning any kind of silly status.
Maybe people will start to realize that the reward isn't some little gif, but in making this forum a fun place to visit and hang with friends.
Heck, maybe even at some point having someone say nice post, or just seeing the replies and participation in your threads will be enough gratification that you forget there ever was a chance at a star by your name.
All in all, I think its good - maybe not great yet, but soon it will be much better
To all of those who are mad, give it a chance and see what happens - if you still can't stand to be here without the stars, I wonder why you ever bothered coming in the first place - is that all HC was to you? 
Also, I'm rather glad that Asheera finally admitted that she was serious all along - now maybe some of you who think I was out to get her for no reason can understand what I saw in that post.

I can't believe how attached some people are to some little pictures on the screen of their computer... This is what's called an ego attachment. The process of spiritual growth involves letting go of attachments and embracing impermanence of all things, which is the true nature of life, the constant of change. To avoid rigidity in body and mind and be healthy we need to be dynamic people, able to receive things and let them go. Some of you obviously need to learn this and this change is a great opportunity for us to learn this collectively.
Since this is a special date today I hope the new HC logo will lighten up your mood a little so that we can get over upsets and get on with making HC a more positive place to be, in a new way. There is a saying that there's a bit of truth in every joke. Red communism is of course a joke, but the truth in it is getting together for common good and overcoming challenges together. Trust me that it will be for the best.
