look what happened if you took away the QPs.
-Mythical resigned (i hope she'll change her mind, i'm really sorry for this and this is the worst consequence)
-a lot of whining and screaming people (i hope u didn't get my previous post as a whining up. i just told my opinions because that's why the thread was made for)
and sorry if i used unappropiate words or if i have insulted anybody here. Wether we like it or not...the system will change anyway. people like lexx, mythical, asheera (which i want to note this: i 'restecp' her for being the 1st user to have a constructive spam and the yellow stars -in her case- really show her quality), aculias and etc, stop consuming yourselves, fighting, making wrong decisions (yes, mythical and FATHER-come back...I DEMAND YOU!), afterall we are a strong community (let's still have difference between other forums) and get over it ^_^

@DJ: We are on two sides at the HQ. Most of us are against the QP system and we managed to convince Val with very good arguments to change it. This is HC reform, this is just the first change we plan. I'm not going to reveal more.
As Mythical, if she decided to leave I can't help her, we'll discuss it with her for sure.

Its amazing the light this move shines on some people.
All I'm going to say about this is the same thing I said in HQ.
Mytical, don't quit.
You have been great to have here, and as much as it seems like this is the worst time of it at HC - trust me, this ain't it
And the big thing to remember, after the worst of it - HC went on, people still laughed and joked with each other, friends were made, and most importantly in your case - people from all over were able to support each other through rough times.
You stay here and let us help you through it, maybe just with a silly joke - or funny picture, or maybe through a long story about experiences people have had similar to yours. All is this will go on with or without red stars - so please, stay.

I am just very dissapointed in people like Lexxan, Father, and others who let this stuff get to them. I honestly thought they were better then that. That they had class. Its a sad sad day. I am hoping that Lex and Father are pulling a April's Fools joke on us. That they really won't quit or are not that dependant on a pixel...
Not to mention I am sure there are several here that would just say "Good Ridence" if I was no longer a Moderator.

I think there is a popular missconception of people who are still in favour of the QP system.
Why is it so difficult to understand that QPs can also be apreciated for something else than for everyones dying need to boost their ego?
They have (or had ) a symbolic value. They were a token of appreciation from the "officials". When people complain that they're gone it doesn't make them selfloving narcists one should be able to think atleast so far as to consider the possibility that perhaps they were appreciated for something more.
If one complains that they're gone it doesn't mean that the poster did not do what he did for the community or did it simply because he wanted to.
What seems to be impossible to understand for many people here is that people simply appreciate a QP. Nothing more and nothing less. They appreciate it. It's always nice to get a compliment isn't it? And a QP was HCs (not an individuals) biggest compliment. It doesn't mean that people appreciated all the compliments users gave them.
Here's the scenario. I bet you my life that most people you describe in such a charming matter as "some people" would be happier creating a thread that get's 20 replies saying "Jaij, well done/ I like it// anything along those lines" than creating a thread that gets a QP with no replies or replies like "oh bummer...lame etc.".
But no. It just doesn't get into many peoples head. It just doesn't. It's so sad. No sad is the wrong word. It boarders on arrogance.
God this is so stupid.

To be perfectly honest, my biggest beef was with people who only cared about status, if they leave now because they lose it I think we'll finally see the real quality in HC start to improve.
As for anyone who would think its good for you to leave - why would you even care what they think? They obviously don't know you and the people that do want you to say.
I'd be insulted if you valued their opinion more than mine.
(so now you have to stay here, or else you'll hurt my feelings - and if you do that then Aculias will make a thread giving you the business, then people who have nothing to do with it will start fighting - and then even more who don't even know what the thread is about will join in the fights - and then ultimately you'll forget that any of it was ever about you quitting , and you'll become confused and go back to moderating, so let's just skip all that and you just stay. K? thx.)

I think its understandable that people would be upset - but to give up on Hc altogether, makes me wonder if any of them care about the friends they made here, isn't that more important than the stars?
What I was commenting on is some of the reaction towards Valeriy.
He can give you this community for free for years but that counts for nothing if he changes something that you liked?
How on earth do people feel they have the right to attack him here?
Be upset - voice your opinion, all good.
But do you think that if the people who are wanting the QP system back do nothing but insult and berate Valeriy he will feel somehow inclined to reward them by giving them what they want?
To me that kind of disrespect sucks. If you don't like what he did, talk to him - don't yell at him. He doesn't owe anyone anything, but he gives of himself all of the time anyways.
I hate that because certain people don't see him, they think he's completely absent. He's not - in spite of the fact that he has a busy life, and no time to participate here.
You can go off on me for saying that all you want, but I'm not going to sit here and tolerate when people talk about or to my friend the way that I've seen.

Thanks for the thought but I assure you I'm a bit more rational than my emotionally heated reply suggests . Maybe it didn't shine through but I was talking in general as I'm positive that what I say is 100% applyable to individuals considered in your "some".
Don't worry if you'd ment me I wouldn't have seen a need to reply since I can deal with such accusations. I do however not tolerate such speaches against people who don't deserve them (that doesn't imply that I'd deserve one ).

Needless to say that you are completely right. To my shame I have to admit that I haven't fully read the thread yet and thus not read any insults directed at anyone. But I might also want to add that both Father and Lexxan were more on the emotional side of life and while they would certainly be wrong to insult Val (if they did) I think one should first judge when they come back and get their emotions under controle again.
I do however stand by my previous post. People have been judged as described by me and it is boarding on arrogance to do so.
But I apologize for wrongly conneting your statement to people who care about QPs instead of them insulting Val. I'm sorry I'll correct that.
