Anyway. The story is justo soooo.... banal! You can play as Gordic the kiddo?  LOL that a geniuso brillianto idea Ubi, you may catch the Nobel prize... on the TV...
It's about the old war, it happens again, they keep coping WoW's story (in this way it's like a boomerang, Blizz copy the old heroes series and Ubi just did it with wow, war of the clones!). It's again all vs the demons, let's unite against the red-skins and spank them to death! Unicorn eternal!
And it's goint to happen again in Heroes 6, I suppose
Go, go, go, the armies of Ubi are ready, the quest for gold and money will soon begin! Euro eternal!
And, man, when they are going to change that music...

Nothing wrong with exploring the past of the setting (which didn't come out of nowhere unlike the blatant retcons Blizzard has pulled recently).
Sure it's not the most original setting overall, but I actually wouldn't mind it being even more like Warcraft. The overall game quality and the incredible map editor wouldn't hurt for the next game.

Er, Nirual? I can't believe I'm debating this stuff, but: Ornella was vampirised. Raven and Zoltan are chalk-white as well but they're definitely not vampires, skeletons, liches et al. Don't understand why you automatically equate whitish skin tones to undeath.
Unless the authors of Heroes V have had a collective brain hemorrhage, there's no forgetfulness here. As I said before, it's the same writers.

Markals Bio specifically states that he is alive, which made it possible for him to manipulate the living. It's a lot harder to trust someone who's actually dead (or looks a lot like it). And all that emphasis on "Final Deaths" in the TotE campaign doesn't sound like there are many others like him.
But there is no point in arguing over it like this, and I will probably get the game anyway despite what I consider to be quite glaring inconsistencies just for the sake of having some already known names in it. Im suprised they didn't use Zehir for Academy.
Oh and thanks for taking my last statement out of context. Say what you want about Warcraft but it has qualities the series could definitely use. Like dozens of patches just for the sake of balance and an incredibly powerful map editor for III that kept it alive for years.

I think they should release it when it's done. 
I played a version at the gamescom in cologne and it looked like it was already done. So I think the release date is a tactical one anyway.
