Height
This is another love-relationship based topic, tbh, but I wanted to make a separate discussion out of it.
We ran an experiment with my friend. We picked some random muscular dark haired good looking model photo, put on the biggest Polish dating portal, and added interesting description (traveler, sportsman, college student, blah blah blah).
Initially, we set his height to 188 cm. We were literally SWIMMING in messages! Girls went crazy.
Then, we lowered it experimentally to 170 cm and.. guess what. He did not get any message at all for 2 days...

Is this some kind of a cruel joke? Are women that height-crazed? So a highly attractive, interesting man is no longer a potential partner because his legs are 10 cm shorter?
This is ridiculous. What do you think - how important height is in terms of attractiveness? For women, I mean.
Myself, having only 176 cm, I feel speechless a bit. @____o

There have been a lot of studies on this. Yea, women definitely prefer taller men by a very wide margin. When women are asked to pick between 2 men and one is tall and one is short, they will pick the tall man almost every time. And the interesting thing is that much of the time they aren't even aware they are doing it.
But it's not just women in regard to physical attraction. Tall people in general are just more successful in life in many different ways. Politicians and corporate executives are predominately tall. All of the US presidents in my lifetime have been over 6 feet (over 183cm) except Nixon who was about 180cm. The same thing with corporate executives.
Keep in mind that where you are in eastern Europe, people are tall compared to most of the world. In the US, even Nixon at 183 is a fair amount above average.
You always hear about discrimination. What you don't hear about is that in many ways, short people are the most discriminated against people there are.
I've always thought that it had to do with physical presence. Think about it. If you are in a meeting in a company and you are expecting the company president to show up and you've never seen him before. Then two people walk in the room and one is 190cm and one is 170. I think for the majority of people the initial reaction would be that the taller person was the president. The tall person simply has more presence and draws your attention.

I guess you could blame the search criteria a little. I am 182 or someting, 170 is viewed as somewhat sort. Most searches would likely want a man over lets say 174. its similar to google handing out the wrong awsers if the search critiera is quite a mess(searching directly for porn is a good example).
In real life it would hardly matter on the other hand, since its alot more about other stuff 
Another note might be the "dark tall stranger" which is translated to "dark hair, tall, and handsome"-stranger.
I really dunno, so meh
PS: what about boobs, butt and tights along with waistline?

I'm afraid this is true. Conversations I've had with female friends confirms that much, they find it silly when they are taller than the male that escorts them. And of course 1.70 friends have complained for having more trouble finding a girl than taller ones. I had met one girl over 1.80 that had this problem, she couldn't find tall guys Was thinking to look for basketball players and yes I'm serious. Sometimes it's all about image..

This is so stupid. Ok if the girl wants a taller guy; It indeed looks stupid (I want a shorter girl than me too.).
But girls wanting the guy to be at least 30 cm taller than them? Lol?

It's deffinitely true that most women (and many gay men) have a definite preference for taller men - conscious or unconscious. Personally, I have to agree - tall men are just hotter. No offence.
On the other hand, I know a lot of (heterosexual) guys who share the same opposite view: They only want to date girls that are shorter than themselves. Tall girl - short guy couples are decidedly off limits (look at Nicole Kidman + Tom Cruise!). I've experienced several of my friends writing off girls as potential dates based on the fact that "she's too tall".
One of my very good friends for a long time refused to consider dating the girl who is now his girlfriend because she was above the 180 cm height limit he operated with. It has to be added that this guy is himself 202 cm!
I guess it's just pretty hard-coded in our minds that the male part has to be the taller and stronger while the woman is the smaller (no offence or sexism intended).

I wouldn't say it looks stupid, I could post a pic where me (196 cm) and my GF (163 cm) are standing side by side.

I prefer girls of my own height. That makes me feel us equal, which brings us closer.
I think it's not very natural and fully emotional when a girl has to stand on her toes to kiss the guy while he crouches.

Which reminds me, the other day when I was going to work, I passed this couple on the parking lot, kissing each other - except, she was standing on an overturned milk crate in order to reach up to him. It seriously looked like something taken out of a cartoon.

If only i knew how much 69 inches is. I live outside the grey area on this map, in Norway. Which has adopted the metric system like the rest of the world except a a few lunitics that live in the mentioned areas.
Please start using cm or meters............. So people may understand you.
I think that if women was taller than men in some society, then shorter men would be viewed as attrictive(how many times trough your childhood have you seen a man and a shorter women together?).

Did I totally forget how to use metric or something? Since when was 176 cm considered a "runt"? Are all the men in Poland ogres that die of heart failure at age 65? 176 cm is perfectly fine height.
No doubt, people tend to be genetically programmed to favor height, but I'm guessing your one-time sample was exaggerated due to it being an online site. Not that there's anything wrong with finding people online, but I suspect that attracts a disproportionate amount of shallow people.
