Favorite Super Hero or X-Men?
As the title states.
I think Phoenix is awesome in X-Men: The Last Stand. I like super mega overpowered girls with huge psychic powers.

I'm not that knowledgeable about the wider X-Men world, but my favorite guys in the movies were Magneto and Wolverine. Magneto made an all-around awesome villain (the scene in the 2nd movie where he easily escapes from the plastic prison with just a tiny bit of metal was spine-tingling), and Wolverine was just a cool guy, although I might like him the most simply because he was basically the main character so you got to know and love him the best. I was also a big fan of Nightcrawler in it.

Xerox is as awesome as it gets. About X-men I'm not sure, there are more than a few that I like. Wolvie for his bad boy attitude, Nightcrawler for being a likable guy with cool power, Storm for her inner strength, powers and respectful aura, Beast for his intellect and beastly strength antithesis, Magneto for his role in the series and steely determination.. Recently came across some Deadpool comics and I instantly liked him. Probably many I miss right now.

Sadly I've never been big on Marvel's Merry Mutants, mostly because there have always been too many monthly books to follow. I realize I've been missing out so I'm picking up trade paperbacks. Just finished reading the legendary Dark Phoenix storyarc, but I'm afraid it's too old school for me. Gotta check Madureira's run or something.
Other than X-Men... Probably Supes. But if you ask me tomorrow, it'll be Spider-Man. Or maybe Daredevil. LOL

My least favorite hero is Superman. He has no personality. He always uses the most obvious solution to any problem, and it is always the right one. If you do a literary analysis of Superman Returns, you will be forced to conclude that Louis Lane is the protagonist.

Well, I can't give a number one, so here's my top five:
1 - Magneto: Manipulation of metal? Yes, and a damn cool outfit.
2 - Scarlet Witch Who doesn't like a hot crazy mutant with sorceress powers?
3 - Gambit Favorite of the animation series
4 - Doom I just like lightning
5 - Mysterio Yes, a strange pick, but I love him. The master of illusions gets on spidey's tail a lot.

Oh no, Superman is actually the deepest of them all, although harder to relate to than, say, Spider-Man (who is an everyman).
First, Supes is an alien, an immigrant if you will - a person doing his best to fit in. He is a man of two worlds, one who won't discard his heritage but longs for acceptance in his adopted homeland. Having read some of your posts, I'm doubtful you can relate LOL - but assimilation is a fascinating topic.
Second, there's his dual nature - he is both a god and a man. He is virtually untouchable, but it can also be yet another feature that alienates him from the people around him. Being the most powerful sometimes also means being the loneliest. Furthermore, Superman could have ruled the world, being nearly omnipotent... However, he has chosen to fight for Truth and Justice (and the American way). Thus he is an authentic American hero, its champion and symbol. Supes fights gangsters, Nazis and commies aliens for us. His only dilemma is whether to solve all the mankind's problems by himself or lead by example and be the world's inspiration. Sounds familiar?
Then there's his secret identity. Almost schizo, right? Is he Clark Kent, who becomes Superman (like every one of his readers would want to)? Or is he actually Superman, a hero who invented a clumsy reporter because he had to show his vulnerable side?
Finally, there are ethical questions; for example, Wolverine and Batman kill, but Superman doesn't. A moral imperative that shouldn't be overlooked in a culture of violence, a country that wages wars and practices capital punishment.
Not to mention that he launched an entire genre (superheroes) and a new format (comic books) all by himself back in 1938.
You're right though, Superman Returns wasn't a great movie. It seemed as if it was written and directed twenty years ago (which was the whole point, I think - but it was a mistake in my book). Have you seen the original Superman from 1978?

Favourite X-Man would be Gambit. Favourite villain, of course, the Joker.
Don't know about the favourite superhero. Possibly Hancock.

I have. Everything you said is true, is in his biography. Superman could have been any of those things. But he isn't. Those part of his character are never explored; we never see him struggling with his choices. That's what differentiates main character from minor character: choice. It is apparent that he made choices, but we don't see them, and so they don't really exist, from a literary standpoint. It's tragic really; they had a high-potential character on their hands but they chose to ignore him and develop the action scenes instead.
