Poll Question: Alcohol and Parties
I whant a thread/poll where we can tell each other our experienses at parties and with alcohol, and ofcourse the negative which always ends on Facebook ;p
Alcohol is not important (What did i just say?) but it's fun and a huge part of being young! (Maybe it's because i'm from denmark)..
And by the way, i have a question:
What is the best cure agaisnt hangovers!?
Some say english breakfast, others say more beer. My best experience is taking a Ibomutin/Panodil (Painkillers? Pills against headache and such) before you go to bed..
But i whant to hear your ideas?
And for the real question of the thread:
If you are at a very huge fun party, what do you drink?
(Explains)
1: Vodka = All from Smirnoff to Zubrowka and others
2: Rum = All from Bacardi Rum to Captain Morgan and others
3: Drinks = You know, all the mixes of soda, juice, alchol and such.
4: Soft-Drinks = Cult shakers/Mokais, Sommersby, Breezers and such.
5: Beer = Everything from the cheapest to the expensivest.
6: Gin = Everything from Gordons to Plymouth.
7: Whisky = Everything from Jack Daniels to the real whisky.
8 Tequilla = Everything from Sierra to DonJulio.
9: Shots = By that i mean Gajol, and all thoose you can order in shots glasses.
10: Others = Maybe wine, champaign or such.

Experience I never get hangovers...
I usually drink Bourbon, but sure I can take a beer or ten .. a drink, or a some shots vodka (smirnoff)... I don't like huge parties though, rather being with a few friends or going out to a bar or pub or something. I am not so much into clubs, cause I can't dance..

No I think it's a huge part of destroying yourself.
Maybe because when you're older you appreciate yourself more?
And no alcohol is certainly "not fun" -- I wouldn't call something that makes me not aware/sober fun at all, no matter how you put it. And I stay away from drunk parties more than junkies.

Most learn from their mistakes ... if they don't try drinking, they might not know the effect well enough when they try it later on.

These days it's actually a part of being young. Most drink at parties and such to "loosen up" and get "social", though they don't show who they are someone else when they're drunk .. and for some reason they think it's cool.

I would say that they think it's fun to forget that they're in puberty, with pimples, losing control and stuff what teenager doesn't feel so much cooler holding a cold beer pretending he likes it? .. pathetic, but true...

Not always -- for instance such people may not try drugs so they don't know the effects. Or burn their hands, I mean, to have that experience. Might be cool, actually when I was young and foolish (~14 yo), one of my classmates almost burned himself and he thought it was cool
The reason i was foolish is because I shouldn't have been there in the first place. The difference is that there I had no idea what to expect -- in alcohol case pretty much any teenager knows they will get drunk, but they don't care. Had I been given information, I would probably have stayed away from it.

That doesn't make it right in any reasonable way. If cutting your arm was considered "cool" that doesn't change the fact that you're destroying yourself.

Eating a lot is supposed to help hangovers, since the food absorbs the toxins.

Some are fools not to learn from their mistakes ... Drinking should be just for pleasure, cause it tastes good .. in small doses maybe once a week. My advice
I never said it was good, but that's the teenager way; is it cool, it doesn't matter how much damage you do to yourself.

Pleasure, the failure of reason.

I perfectly understand what you mean, and I know how "the teenager way" is.
So why can't I say why it sucks and why it is horrible and why it is unreasonable and why it sucks (again)?

But Bourbon is like my favorite thing to drink at all xD so I need at least a tiny bit every week, just to have the taste of it ^^
I agree it sucks .. I truly do. There's nothing good about it, except the taste in some of the things. But yeah, to drink just to drink is idiotic.

hey, I completely agree. I very rarely drink.
got drunk once. I don't understand how you can consider that fun.
it seems to me that parties are mostly a pretext to get drunk, I think it is stupid.

I find it sad that people actually go to parties to get drunk. Let's face it, 90% of so-called parties, that's the reason.

I wasn't talking only about teenage parties. The rest 10% are teenagers interested in "adult" type of parties (I hate that term adult because it implies that they can't have it when they're teenagers which is wrong).

No that's not wrong .. I guess only 10% of the teenagers actually behave. The rest goes out to get drunk and get laid with different girls without caring about what effect it has on them .. at least that's so over here...

Drinking large quantities of (usually cheap) hard alcohol at parties is overrated. Vastly overrated. The effects the next day are just not worth it.
I like some hard spirits, but usually aged (tequila, bourbon) and in small (read: sipping) quantities. But even more than that, I'll just prefer a good beer.

Best hangover prevention is to drink like 200 gallons of water (or as much as you can before you, like, you know, throw up) before you go to bed.
Also I love some juice, a berocca, lots of water and maybe some light cereal the next morning.
Also sitting on the floor of the shower hating yourself for all the embarassing things you did the night before helps alot.

Lies, everyone can dance. Some people are just too shy
Alcohol and parties are fun. Having fun, enjoying your life and making the most of our youth is all that we can aim to do in our little lives
