Xinxz thought on that for a bit. It would be easy to lie, his kind were great at that, but for some reason the thought bothered him. "No. I am not sure where we are going, but I doubt there is any safety for us anywhere. We are safer together, wherever it is we end up."

Kuddin awoke from his night of dreams. He seemed a little happy with what was going on with them, but a little disturbed by them as well. Soon, he sat up, and the expression on his face changed to something resembling someone a little ill. He crawled out of the cave, to the river nearby, and dunked his head down in. He stayed under for several seconds, then pushed himself back out. He fell over, and rolled away from the water.
"Ah! Much better! Strange dream."
Eventually, he rose and returned to the cave. He saw that everyone else was up. He was unsure about who was going, but he was ready to set out.
"Are we ready?"

“Are ready,” Kreishna agreed. “Goes now. Looks for arihertan; follows it.” Kreishna darted upstream a few horse lengths, glanced back to mark who followed, then continued upstream in earnest.

"Is going too!" said Quefek who went a few steps but a bad leg doesent heal overnight.
He stumbled and got back up. Much more gingerly this time he climbed the slope out of the cave to be greeted by the morning.
He sat down on a log and fashioned himself a walking stick.
He bit at the branch for awhile until it was sharp and was free of knots.
He tested it by stabbing a beetle who was unlucky enough to be out in the open. The stick went right through. Now looking at the bug he realizes what it was. It was edible, thats what it was. He poped it in his mouth like a sweet and munched on it. The sweet/sour taste filled his mouth.
He got up and walked further and waited to see where everyone was.

Xinkz followed along smiling. For some reason he felt good about this. No bullies in the group, no constant arguing or back biting..at least not yet.

The little kobold scouted ahead of the small group accompanying her, occasionally vanishing into the foliage for moments at a time. Out of consideration for her injured compatriot, she tried to find the easiest way back to Autumnbridge she could, which meant that she wasn’t going back exactly the way she came.
After a particularly long foray ahead, Kreishna emerged from the underbrush with a particularly solemn set to her lizard-like snout.
“Finds roads.” she warned. “Quiets, carefuls, might be raiders. Might be riders,” she added as she recalled what she could of this stretch of road. “Cautious!”

"Yes." replied Quefek who was now unsure what they were doing.
Well its better to be somewhere else than here.
The road seemed to stretch endlessly, beyond the mining camp that was seen on the horizon.
He just walked blindly, simply not caring for awhile, instead he thought. Thought of everything. The grass, very green, very moist, very tasty(to some, but not to kobolds). Rock crabs, very gray, very hard, they look like a giant river stone that has been eaten by the water.
Angry Kobold, very angry, very um... smelly? Everything, very squishy, very mean, very Grub. Then he broke from his trance, the vision of Grub obviously being horrible enough to do that. He looked at the goblin and he said: "Wats were we doing again?"

Xinkz nodded. "Let me go first to the road. We must be careful, I doubt humans will welcome us." He approached the road cautiously, just to see a strange site. 4 humans had cornered another human and was threatening it with weapons.
"Give us the pouch and you don't get hurt." roared one of the four.
"Ain't nobody around to help ya, you better do what we say!" added another.
Humans..threatening each other? Had the world turned on its head? Goblins acted like that, surely not humans though. Something inside him felt rage over how the four were acting. Even though his kind would do such in a heartbeat. Motioning for the others to come toward him, he silently closed in on the four thugs. Humans already thought he was a savage, time to show them exactly how right they were.

Quefek glanced uncertainly, Xinx crouched by a nearby bush and gestured for the rest of them to follow. The humans were threatening another human, though Quefek had never seen it he was not surprised, everyone acts like a kobold now and then.
He was unsure what they were doing but he crouched down and looked at Xinxs face. He could see a glint of loathing at the scene and then the thought pierced through Quefeks nerves like a block of ice.
He took a look back at the humans. They were still intent on taking the pouch from the 4th man but he was defending it like it was his lifes work. He could hear Xinx breath getting heavier as though adrenalin were pumping through him.
He Intended to attack, but forgot he lacked the force necessary to bring down four humans at once. Kobolds relied on numbers in warfare, and three kobolds didnt make for a large army.
He took a final look at Xinx.

Kreishna trailed a little behind the other two, swinging around quietly to take the human brigands from the side. It was rather obvious what the goblin wanted to do, and Kreishna was opportunist enough not to object. On the contrary; she might even be able to scavenge something shiny or edible off of one of the humans for the Guild—
—assuming there was anything left of it, of course. She suppressed that thought and crouched in a bit of underbrush, waiting for an opportune moment to leap from hiding.

With a final nod, Xinkz let out a primal yell and leaped out of hiding. The bandits were in complete shock. Xinkz rushed the closest and back handed them while doing a sort of spin. There was a sickening crunch and the thug fell like a sack of rocks. At first the three thugs were about to run, but they realized it was only a lone goblin.
"You are going to regret that green skin!" one leered as they closed in on Xinkz. He took up a fighting stance, bracing to kill all three if he had to. He knew the one at his feet would not recover any time soon.

The sight of the humans made Kuddin extremely nervous. His first instinct was to run. Though he enjoyed the alcohol he was tortured with recently, he would rather have it at his own pace. Plus, there was no guarantee that it would even be such a torture even. He backed away a few steps.
Then Kuddin saw the goblin motion them forward. Was he nuts!? He wanted to get closer. Sure, he felt some pity for the one human being mauled, but they were humans! He was still backing away.
However, Kuddin saw the other kobolds begin to advance. They must be as crazy as the goblin! He was sure of it. Going to risk enslavement and torture, or even death, to save one of the beastly humans? Why?
Kuddin backed away further, then looked upon the one the thugs were attacking. His mind filled with thoughts of those events that had recently happened to him, that he couldn't explain, and a sense of duty rushed over him. He stopped in his tracks, let out a deep sigh, then moved forward. Kuddin couldn't believe what he was doing. He was actually going to help.

Foolish, foolish humans turning their backs.
Kreishna leapt from hiding in a blur of scales and tattered clothing, impacting with one of the human bandits and scrambling for a claw hold until she was steady enough to bury her old knife in the man’s arm.
He swore with surprise and pain, then tried to stab at her with his own blade—the edge of the weapon scored her lightly before she managed to grab the man’s wrist in both foreclaws and bite him.
That was enough to make him drop the dagger. Kreishna dove on the weapon gleefully—her own was stuck in the man too solidly for her to remove and this one was rather shinier. The human bandit had just enough time to howl with rage before Kreishna had snatched his dagger and darted back into the trees; he plunged after her with abandon.
Kreishna snickered.

Back at the cave
Ifran packed it's stuff when it saw that the others got ready to leave. When they all left, Ifran took a last look at it's cave and sighed, then it putted up a sign saying "The Troglodyte is out"
Present storyline
Ifran smiled as it saw the eager young ones charge to their death. So young, so innocent, so fresh for the reaper to take! Ifran almost puked remembering that they were about to save humans...from humans...Ohh well, it might get the chance to kill the human who was being bullied as well.
Ifran then grabbed a rock and aimed for one of the humans before throwing. Ifran had aimed well, and the rock hit the humans nose, making him fall down on the ground holding himself on the bleeding nose.
Ifran knew that it's chance was now and charged fourth with another rock in one hand, and the pointy stick in the other. When the human tried to stand up and Ifran threw the rock at him, hitting his chest, stopping the human from standing up. Ifran jumped on the human and thrusted the stick into the human. Because the human was moving Ifran's missed it's heart, but instead hit the throat of the human.
Pulling the Stick out of the throat, the human started rolling back and fourth on the ground, holding his throat, gasping for air. Ifran didn't have time to finnish the job, as a club suddenly came out of nowhere and knocked Ifran away...

Kreishna darted through the underbrush, the human bandit crashing along behind her. He’d pulled her knife out of his arm and was waving it furiously, sending drops of his own blood spattering along his backtrail. Obviously not much of a thief, this one.
But Kreishna knew these hills, oh yes she did…Yralik’s band of highwaykobolds had set up ambushes of their own here, a few summers ago. And the human bandit was obviously foreign by his clothes; Kreishna doubted he knew the area as well as she did, even considering her information was old. There was a batch of pine trees there…they held something that could take care of the human…just so long as it hadn’t moved on…
Kreishna found her target just a split second before it was too late. She dove sideways, barely being missed by the long growths of the assassin vine that lived here. The human following her was too angry to take notice of his danger before the plant slammed into him—within moments the vine had entangled him and was strangling the life out of him. Kreishna snickered again.

Quefek stumbled and groped for his stick which had fallen from his hand. He grasped hold of its handle only to have it kicked from his hand by a human, he scrambled for it. He now took a glance and steadied himself. The others were fighting fiercely, he looked for an opening, a human had knocked Ifran with a club. Now with a goal firmly in his mind he ran close to the humans feet. He tripped him, making him fall backward, almost squishing Quefek in the process. He then broke the humans nose with his stick and then looked to see the blurs of the fight. He was wavering, unsure what to do next, afraid of being left exposed while in such a confused state, he darted for the bushes and tried to pick out his next target.

The others were actually doing better than he expected. Sure, there were a few minor blows that they received, but they were actually proving the better in the encounter. Kuddin quickened his pace.
Looking at the scenario, Kuddin placed the whereabouts of the humans, and tried to analyze which ones he even needed to worry about. He soon chose what he should attempt to accomplish.
With a running leap, he started crawling up one of the humans. The man was a bit surprised at such an odd thing for the koboldto choose to do. Kuddin clenched onto the man's shirt, brought his feet up, and pushed off the man's chest. The man was forced back a step, but the kobold was sent flying. He sailed through the air, towards another human thug. Doing some aerial acrobatics, Kuddin's tail struck the man hard upon the head, sending him to the ground.
It worked! Kuddin couldn't believe it actually worked. It was a little sloppier than he envisioned it, but the attack actually connected! Oh, the...
Kuddin soon realized. His head was only inches from the ground, soon to meet it in a very painful way. Doing a quick twist, honing in on whatever new skills he has recently been granted, he positions his body in a way that he lands on his chest....and tumbling roughly along the dirt, until a full stop is made.

It had happened so swiftly that Xinkz was unsure of what exactly had occured. One minute it was three on one, the next all the bandits were either out cold, missing, or dead. The red haze that had covered his eyes lifted, reminents of his heritage. He looked at the human left standing.
"T...Tyr be praised. I d-d-don't know why you did that, but please..take this." the human handed him a small bit of the coins.
"I want no part of your human god, and I did not do it for you. These," he kicks the one still unconscious at his feet, "are no better then people think my kind are. Worse even, for they pretend to be something they are not. Go, and do not look back."
He turned without waiting to see if his directions were followed. As soon as he was back with the group, he split the coins given to him with the group only keeping one for himself. "We should hurry, the guard may be along at any time. I will be waiting near the road." he didn't want to know what they others would do with whichever bandits were still alive. Personally he did not cared if they were alive or dead, as long as they no longer prayed on the innocent.

Before anyone of the group had time to respond to Xinkz's words Kreishna noticed a small movement in the forest. She turned her head only to see another man hiding in the bushes. He must have been a sentry the bandits put on the road in case someone else comes by and when he heard the screams he hurried back to see what happened. Now his crossbow was pointed towards the group and just as his finger was about to pull the trigger, a big green hand landed on his head and pulled him into the forest. A few screams and a loud crack followed by the sound of a body falling on the ground were heard. Finally, a huge green-skinned orc came out of the bushes. His skin was adorned by numerous scars, he carried a big club in his left arm and a small piece of flesh was all that was left of his right one.
The orc looked at the group, smiled the stupidest grin imaginable and said:
"Me Durok. Me help."

Kreishna spent a few minutes trying to retrieve her old knife from the vine before making her way back to the ambush site. She accepted her share of the coin with a pleased gleam in her eye and secreted them away on her person against future need.
There was the sound of creaking leather in the bushes, a bare shift of movement, and then Kreishna spotted the man.
She had barely gotten out a hiss and her shiny new dagger when the human disappeared into the brush to die and a big orc stepped out of the bushes.
"Me Durok. Me help."
Greatly daring, she skittered up to the larger creature, senses straining for any sign of aggression or deception.
“Helps it find arihertan?” she asked suspiciously.
