If you don't mind me butting in, I'd like to offer a hat puzzle that I recently read which I thought was fun.
Twenty men are due to be executed tomorrow for crimes against the king. The king, being a compassionate man, decides to give the men a chance to win their freedom, but the king also only wants intelligent, logical men in his country, and so he makes a contest of wits out of it.
He groups the men together and tells them the following.
"Men, tomorrow morning you will be lined up in a row, and the executioner will place a hat on each of your heads. Each hat will be colored either blue or red, but you will not know the color of the hat you are wearing. You will all be facing the same direction and will only know the colors of the hats being worn by the people in front of you. The prisoner in the back of the line will be able to see the 19 prisoners in front of him, the person in front of him will be able to see the 18 prisoners in front of him, and so forth. The person in front of the line will be able to see no hats at all. You will not be allowed to look around or communicate together in any way.
"Now, the last person in the line, the one who can see everybody, will be asked to tell me what color is the hat he is wearing. He will be allowed to answer either "Blue" or "RED". If he says anything else, you ALL will be immediately executed. If he guesses the right color of the hat on his head, he gets to be set free. Otherwise, he gets the guillotine.
"Then, the next person in line will be asked the same question. He will be allowed the same two possible responses, and the same consequences to his answers. And so on until everyone is either dead or set free.
"Well, that's it gentlemen. Good luck."
The men are free to communicate with each other prior to the line-up in the morning. What is highest number of men that can be assured of freedom, and how do they do it?

I think 10 prisoners can be free for sure. The last prisoner, lets call him Mr.20, tells the hat color of the man before him. After that Mr.19 knows what color has his hat and he is free. Then Mr.18 repeats process and Mr.17 is free. So, 10 of them are free 100%, the other 10 has 50% chance. Am i wrong?

19.
First counts the number of red hats and blue hats. If there are an even number of red hats, he says red, otherwise blue.
Second knows if the first died or not, so he knows what hat he had. Using that info, and knowing the evenness of the red hats, he can deduce what hat he has.
In fact this goes for all the others, using the first one's answer and the hats before them.

Lets say Mr.19 and Mr.20 got both blue hat, and Mr.20 see 10 read hats in front of him. He will say red and die. Then how Mr.19 can know the color of his hat? He can only know that Mr.20 had blue hat, but that hat was not counted in Mr.20's initial response because he could not see it.
Am i wrong?
Edit: Ah, i get it now. Sorry Death.

Bravo - so the answer is 19, plus a 50% chance for the poor sap who ends up at the end of line.

I got a riddle for you.
on the picture are three squares, each square symbolises a house, each house needs to be connected to water, gas and Electricity. But the people in the houses hate each other, so they don't want their pipes to cross each other.
Can you solve it?
I solved it.

For the hats riddle: A simpler way to realize that is to think about information.
We know that a given dude has information about the previous hats, and the next hats. I.e an example:
r r b r ? b b r b
He is in '?'. So he has to be given some sort of info to calculate the missing piece, and the evenness provides enough info to reconstruct this, because it is affected at each step. Notice that only the first one's answer is necessary, the others simply calculate the missing piece based on that and what they know (previous & next hats).

@Death
I have read a little bit about the answer to this riddle, and some people have compared the answer to what is used in data compression algorithms. Of course, since I know nothing about that, I have to take their word for it.

@Carcity: I'm not sure what are you supposed to do, draw pipes? That's easy. Or is there something else?
@Corribus: Yeah, it's used in statistical compression. (one of the most popular "types" along with dictionary-based compression)

@Carcity
The simplest way is to turn the paper into a sphere (or cylinder). But maybe you consider that to be cheating.
@Death
You're supposed to connect each circle to each box with a line. That is, gas has to connect to each house, water has to connect to each house, and electricity has to connect to each house. But the lines can't intersect.

Here is another one, i hope nobody will not mind posting another riddle while some others still wait for a solution. Maybe some of you already knows this one, but it is a damn good one, so i will post it anyway.
On one day, lets call it day 1, 201 people arrived on small isolated island. Among them are 100 people with blue eyes, 100 people with brown eyes and one person with green eyes which is a leader. Every day, starting from day 1, the leader gathers all them together at noon. If leader see at least one person with blue eyes, he will say: "I see someone with blue eyes". If he don't see anyone with blue eyes, he will not spoke at all.
The fact is, that no one knows the color of his own eyes. They can see the color of other people eyes, but not their own. Every form of communication among people is strictly forbidden, so other person cannot tell you the color of your eyes. There is no any surface (mirror, water, etc...) in which you can see your eyes and find out their color.
When person finds out the color of his eyes, he must leave the island at the first opportunity. Every day at evening ship arrives on the island and this is the only way to leave the island. And you cannot leave if you don't know the color of your eyes.
Now, the question is: Having in mind that all of them are perfect in logical thinking, who will first leave the island an when (on which day)?

Can't they just count the others' eyes and figure out their own that way, since they know there are 100 with blue and 100 with brown...
e.g: if I see 100 with brown eyes I know I have blue eyes...

Nope, they don't know exact number of people with blue eyes and exact number of people with brown eyes among them. Person with blue eyes see 100 people with brown eyes, but from his point of view there may be 100 people with brown eyes or 101 people with brown eyes (including him).
Sorry, forgot to mention this detail in original post.
