Nanny State Update
Yeah so I heard about this story this morning. Has the world gone loony?
And no, it's not a lie: click
Here's the headline: New York Considers Legislation to Ban Salt in Restaurants
Yes, that's right, folks. Sodium chloride may soon be considered a deadly mineral.
EDIT: I'm not sure why that link isn't formatting correctly. But you can cut and paste it if you want.

Wow, talk about the wrong approach. I don't know how the election system works in the US, but unless they have some heavy arguments behind those decisions, I doubt these people will remain in power much longer.

The fact that it's a legitimate worry is irrelevant to the fact that it's SALT. It's a staple of our society!

How's it a legit worry? Choking on grapes is a legit worry, possible peanut allergies are legit worries. Anything you put in your mouth could kill you. Perhaps the government should outlaw food in general.
I'm so goddamn sick and tired of the government trying to protect people from themselves.

Yes, the states controlled by leftists have some quite loony ideas. They think the State shoudl provide cradle to grave care and control every aspect of a person's life. The Obama administration would love such control over the nation and if his "health care reform" passes you'll see the federal government put such loony restrictinos on the entire nation.
If I want to put a pound of salt on everything I eat it is none of the government's business. The governemnt trying to control what I eat, what I drink, what I drive, what lightbulb is in my house, ect, is tyrany and the American people should not stand for it.

So after fiasco with drugs, they still intend on banning things?

Hahaha. I wonder how many people that have lost their lives to salt?
Salt makes food much better if you take the right amount.
I made a luxury breakfast to myself today (well... its eggs, cream and milk). Scrambled eggs with salt and barbecue spice.
I wanted bacon and now I am thinking in brittish english for some reason. I never eat bacon.
Unfortunaly, I wasn't even near to dying but who knows, maybe I'll fall apart soon?

You people seem to forget that about anything contains some amount of salt? Specially meals, since you need some salt in it.
The same applies to sugar.
And....... random vitamins?
But yeah, lets ban everything and have a good laugh about it =D

Everyone should just have a bag of nutrients and vitamins and stuff attached to their stomach that injects the precise amount needed to survive directly into your body.
Oh and we should have plastic bubbles to live in, filled with soft cushions.

I love it. It's clearly sugary beverages people consume that make them overweight. It couldn't possibly be due to poor decision making.
Perhaps a better idea would be to offer free courses on personal responsibility and healthy eating?
