Personally, I liked 3rd game much more. That was just other level of play and enjoyment.
(today I highlighted at sc-esp, I've been highlighting some games during the whole week  )

Just watched the cutscenes from Heart of the Swarm in youtube. Got the impression that it's all about some cheesy love story where everybody is trying to kill Mengsk in their spare time. And some... Primal Queen of Blades? What's that? What happened with the Overmind?

That's just because you know you can't handle his amazing multi-tasking. 
SPOILERS ABOUT CAMPAIGN
Zeno: Apparently before the Zerg became the Swarm they were "primal" and "wild" and then something took over them and they because a hive-mind. Not all of them got taken over though, and so there's both types. You get to fight this boss to become the Primal Queen; said boss is apparently the most powerful thing ever and has existed since the creation of Zerg. And then there's another (or two) boss fight that's harder.

The story was bad (if you played WoL you would expected anyways  ) but it is very fun to play.
The only drawback I find is the number of missions, 20 is too few. Specially if they reuse WoL missions and such T_T
One planet more with extra 2-4 missions....that could be another story.
And the difficulty was simply too easy. Unless you are stubborn (like me!) and don't use roach hydra on every level, it's always too easy. I expected much more from the last mission.

The story was indeed bad. They seemed to have focused on cool enhancements for the zerg units instead of a story. So yeah, definately fun to play with all those new cool abilities, but story is.. meh.

Eh? According to the original StarCraft lore the Zerg are virus-like bacteria developed by the Xel'Naga as a part of an experiment. The original flora of Zerus got mutated by the Zerg and transformed into the first -lings, -lisks, etc. Then they created the Overmind to oversee the whole lot and soon after that big **** happened, etc. Since the Zerg are an artificial creation and couldn't have been centred around any entity in any way before the Overmind, what is this "Primal Queen" all about? Another Diablo-III-like plot hole?

Well spoilerz....
Kerrigan needs to reinfest herself to become free of the fallen Xel'naga Amon's influence. So she gets reborn as a primal Queen of Blades. Primal zerg evaded the Xel'naga and have free will.

But the Zerus missions were snowing horrible. A total pain in the ass, that's what they were.

1st mission: lame copy of WoL mission.
2nd mission: copy of SC1 mission....but with the damn best defensive unit. Cmon, it was so unbelievable easy -.-
3rd mission: total rpg mission, I kinda like it.
When first you are announced to go to Zerus, yeah, I liked it, but then....Zeratul suddenly is friend of Kerrigan? She let him run away? cmon...

The first mission not only is a lame copy. It is a lame copy with scripted attacks. The enemy bases do not matter, the attacks just appear out of nowhere.
Second one was like, what? You've got to be kidding me.
Third one was just pure suffering. Kite, Kite, Kite, Kite...
Kite some more!
