I started to work on the interface, already.
I'm having an issue. Where are the orbs located? I hope they are not hardcoded.

Orbs ??? You mean objects right ? I am not think Hardcore here, try some MOD to see it

T2_2112, excuse certainly, but working out TPM, HoTA ôòâ WoG goes and does not stop. An essence that we didn't put before ourselves the purposes only to change the interface.
P.S. You say, that you need somebody, who can create new objects. So, can i help you somehow?

I started to work on the interface, already.
I'm having an issue. Where are the orbs located? I hope they are not hardcoded.

Seems that the blue color is later replaced with the player color. I tried changing the interface color from brown to marine blue but while the modified pcx looks good outside the game, ingame looks kind of grainy at the edges, maybe it has something to do with the player color overlaping the modified image. Let me know if you have a solution around this. I'm a graphic designer, kind of busy right now, but my spare time goes to HOMM3.
Also, having extracted all the interface files from h3bitmap.lod, i coudn't find those orbs. My suggestion is to start the update of the interface around the HDpatch, wich includes a folder with is own orbs and adventure map panel so its easier to modify (and the game looks better), of course, all the other elements of the interface are still borrowed from the lods, but at least you get to modify the corners.

I can help with correct assemblage DEF-files, creation of BMP-images with a correct palette indexed colors, packing all it in archives and installer creation.
Unfortunately, at present I have no fast and constant exit in the Internet... Alas...

I can help if you want, my times are not so permisive, but i'm still interested. I was doing experiments with the interface on my own without but the interface organization its kind of weird, with too much parts depending on the others, so you can't really go totally creative about it. Anyways, it's easier to work on one proyect a a team instead of doing small interface upgrades all separated here and there.
As a side note, the first screenshot in the main post was a proyect proposed by some member in the Chinesse wog forum, but sadly he gave up after a year of no responses. He mentioned almost the same reasons i said above, and he's waiting for VCMI to start working again... what a shame, i was so exited about it . However, i think there is something we can do, maybe not that complex, but something, especially if more people work together on it, not just one at the time.

SURE, we need your help, and more. But the H3 interface cut by many part, so we can separated like:
- One make the button
- One fix the background
....
Most important here, let ppl do what they want, they love to... cos they need time to live, they will take what suit for them

Sure we want to, but if you arrange it to:
- Hero screen
- Load game screen ...
Or something like then you upload it, esle no need to cos i ready upload the MIXED, save your time for something more important, anyone need anything, ask me, i try my best to help
