Arrogant Politicians
This video shows a US congressman assaulting a college student for asking a simple question. The Congressman is Democrat Bob Etheridge from North Carolina. What are the odds that he will be jailed or even censored by Congress?
It is time for the American peole to demand term limits and to demand that Congress lives under the same law that the rest of America does.

I think a grand total of 4 and 1/2 words were used in that video.

Strong assault btw. The kid will be in the hospital for a minimum of 6 months, and the psychological damage will linger for untold ages (yeah I know it can legally count as assault, but it's such a stupid word to use for something so petty).

A war-like people needs war-like leaders. I can imagine the senate being like the tribal council of the mongolian horde.
Yes, I just compared Barack Obama to Genghis Khan... In a way...

Not sure if I can accept the video as sufficient likely to be presenting the truth. It seemed badly edited to me, but maybe it's more due to my computer that is lagging.

What was wrong with those kids, he asked a polite question.
Going from their tone they did sound "goffy".
Add on the fact they had a mic and a camera posing a bunch of news reporters.
And going by the looks of it, it IS heavly edited. Can someone get me the entire story?

the video doesn't work very well for me.
but I heard that politicians want to know the questions before they go to an interview, so that they have time to plan their lies.

The video consist of a editing down to:
1. They ask to get to ask a question
2. He responds by asking whom they are
3. Go to 1 and repeat----

Hmmm, the camera is not zoomed in the start. They also skipped over a few seconds in the start.
"Do you support the Obamas agenda?" They said while pushing the camera into his face, he respons by asking who they are and pushes the camera to the side. The next thing it seems like the kid is either attempting to lose it on purpose, because there is NO sound of the man hitting the camera.
Then moving on.
Film get clipped. A few seconds forward likely.
A kid is attempting to tape the guy with his cellhpone-camera, likely the first guy we have the first part of the footage from. He grabs the cellphone and said: "Tell me who you are"
Notes: On roughly 0:24, WHY is the kid attempting to get under the guys suit? There man responded by grabbing his arm and taking his cellphone.
He said "tell me who you are?" again, and they say they are a bunch of students on some assignment. Which is as unspesific as it gets, meaning it is NOT a valid answer. He asks AGAIN to signalize that its NOT a valid answer.
The kids are filming him, going into his face, and he got a right to know who the are. They respond by not responding, they give him a generic bullsnow answer.
I would likely have called the cops on these students if I had the chance, they acted impolite and rude.
And to not make the case entirely 1 sided: The guy was not in his full 5, properly.

I don't know, but it does not have to be only in occassions of coercion.
People, to get popular, in my experience, often wants to present themselves through as many possible ways (senses) as possible. That means, getting heard, getting seen, getting smelled(get close to people), getting tasted(in principle, probably just kissing babies or something), and getting felt(give hand, give a hug, stand close, etc.).
In principle, I'd not be surprised, if the guy wants to show social skills and friendship by showing how close he's to the person, the common man, by standing close, holding around, etc.
Though again, sure it could be he really did coerce upon them, I don't know, I just don't want to jump to any conclusion based on that video, at least not as it played on my computer.

You are evidently ignorant of the laws in the US. Grabbing or pushing anyone or hitting something they are holding is assault and battery. Yes, that is a jailable offense. There are probably a number of other charges that could be brought against him. Holding the student and refusing to release him could be considered kidnapping in some states. Furthur, there is the charge of "Assault on a Minor" in many states. I'm not sure if that charge exists in Washington DC where the assault occured.
You can bet if the college student had treated the congressman in such a manner the studen would be in jail.
Anyways, Etheridge issued an apology now. He makes no claims that the vidoe was edited in a manner as to misrepresent what occurred.

Quote: Rep. Bob Etheridge apologized Monday for his physical confrontation with two young men who identified themselves as students and asked if the North Carolina Democrat "fully supports the Obama agenda."
"I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina , I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse."

All I have to say is "HA HAAA HAAA HAAAAAAAA!" You can't be serious that the congressman was showing affection for the college student.
