Original silver version! Pretty great line up if I must say: Espeon, umbreon, scizor, tyranitar, ayrodactyl, and kingdra. Started with them at lvl 5

@Kiryu: Not much, most of the stuff comes with practice. If possible, avoid bows until you've learned the rhythm of melee combat properly, many handicap themselves in their learning by doing bows exclusively (cuz melee is hard).
You can tell when you run up to some of the newbie archers online haha.. just spamming and hoping for the best.
Also, if the 22nd Siege server is still online go play that! There is no other game that lets you experience such epic sieges.

pff, Scyther holding Eviolite is way better than stinkin' Scizor. Umbreon is totes the coolest of the bunch though.

Well... MKX on PC is kinda playable now and I'm actually having fun with it.
Realized last night that Sonya Blade has an overhead -> low -> overhead combo which is just the scrubwrecker supreme. If I'm up against a spammer I just need to get close once and get 'em on the floor and then it's just Okizeme torture time.
What's more in Covert Ops variation she can cancel her overhead -> low into Military stance and go into throw/low/overhead. I mean **** what do you even do? You guess that's what, and you need to guess right 3 times in a row hahah.
Especially fun waiting for them to panic and throw out a wake-up X-Ray only to get wrecked even further cuz Sonya's own X-ray is a counter-hold that absorbs even X-rays haha :3.
Love it.

Damn, would buy them if I didn't have every single game in the series (even those Guardians of Light/Servants of the Dark mini-expansions). In my eyes it "was" the biggest rival of Heroes series (though the overall atmosphere is a lot darker). At least until Disciples III which was snow (I didn't even complete a single campaign, so boring). Now I think Age of Wonders is the biggest rival

The dark fantasy atmosphere of D2 was unbeatable. It was very intense. Truly an amazing game. Too bad D3 snowed things up with the mechanics, atmosphere and art were still pretty decent.
How I wish this series was rebooted.

Disciples III became quite decent with Resurrection, this is how it should have looked like from the beginning and expanded further upon that base. By the time Resurrection came up though, the reputation of the game was already ****** up. So that's that.

Playing Dark souls II Scholar of the first sin.
Oooh so lovely, game keeps me on my toes every section has been revamped in some way not to mention the dlc content. Also, I was feeling kinda down cause I had a good start on a game I just started on DSII (scholar is not save compatible). But, if I hadn't restarted I wouldn't have been able to create my best character yet (dark souls is known for a pretty messy character creator where every option changes your entire face in some way, so editing your nose will change your brows and your mouth):

About Disciples III:
Still boring as sh*t... that is the main problem of DIII, even with Reincarnation. Battles are repetitive (probably my main issue with the game), the HoM&M like battlefields are a complete miss for the series (battle system was what made past D games unique), each map of the campaign seems to take ages (in a negative sense), unit upgrade trees are not only a copy-paste of Disciples II (this should be a good thing but it isn't, I found it lazy coming from the devs), but also they screwed things up with the multi-leveling before "evolution" of a unit, cause units development seemes to take forever (while forcing the player to play with weak basic units).
Battles of DI-II were simple as hell yet they always managed to keep things interesting (hit and misses, using defend for tanking and just barely surviving, using potions etc). And the DI-II were full of badass units/bosses with incredible attack animations (Phantom Warrior, Galleans Beast, Onyx Gargoyle, Elder Vampire, Tiamath, Teurgist to just name a few). The only good things about DIII are it's atmosphere and climatic graphics/music to some extent (they managed to keep the dark tone of the game).
Thank the Heavens that I paid so little for this game (10 bucks or sth)...

To each his own but... the battles? The battles in Disciples I-II were fully exhausted as ideas. What new can you add to a system where units don't move and you basically have "can hit only adjacent" and "can hit anyone" types of fighters? Probably a tweak or two, that's all. The devs of Renaissance completely messed up the battles but Resurrection improved them... 10 times, at least. Still nothing extraordinary but I'll say again - this is what the game should have looked like in 1.0. Yes, they had to change the battles, otherwise you would have just copy-pasted Disciples II with a new skin. And frankly most of the new animations are hardly worse than what we had in Disciples II. The unit models are hit and miss though, especially the demons.

Tried Armello.
While it's artistic value and design are great (I really dig this Furry-tale gone bad style ) I'm disappointed with the game. Well it really is a virtual board game with quite clever and transparent mechanics, made for short 0.5-1h play sessions, but it's just that. What do I mean? That after three plays I'm already bored to death. It has quests, randomness, strategy, replayability and all but its gameplay just doesn't seem to have that "something" to hook me for longer. I don't know, maybe the final version will have more variety and enough stuff to change my mind (devs are systematically adding new content to it) but for now it lacks something that would make me want to play it over and over again (after those three sessions I have a feeling that I've seen everything this game has to offer)...
