In Minecraft I have been busy dissecting the world piece by piece and rearranging it into chests by block type. Who knew such a repetitive and mundane task could be so much fun?

Well yeah, simple games that make you repetitive tasks will always be popular. Animal Crossing NH, while essentially a game when you use your creativity to organize tasks for yourself turns out is also a game about repeating some activities like watering flowers or chopping wood daily

Currently I'm playing:

- Euro Truck Simulator 2 -> until I get bored with driving from point A to B
- Star Renegades - a nifty sci-fi tbs rogue-like game similar to Slay the Spire where you push through waves of enemies with your team, while leveling them up and acquiring better gear. Very nice pixel art graphics. It's actually one my most surprising indie finds this year, I literally learned about it after watching a random trailer.
- Cyberpunk 2077... although I'm not rushing with it, I might even wait when more patches are out. Somehow I don't have this feeling of wanting to go back to the game asap.

Journey to the Savage Planet and Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Journey to the Savage Planet feels a bit like The Outer Worlds, except with more caricature.

Sony removed Cyberpunk2077 from their store. Insane. Probably just as insane as CDPR's entire stock plummeting by 30%. What a colossal failure of a release.

I'll still buy it at some point if the game becomes playable but when I actually looked up all the problems with it, it was simply unprofessional and inexcusable to release the game. Sony made the right decision to take it off their market.

There is a very good game underneath, but sadly it's all ruined by how CDProjekt Red handled the release situation. Totally amateurish and unfortunately for them, they don't have a big PR machine to protect them like EA, Ubisoft or Microsoft has...

Somewhat of a city builder? So where's Sim City, Cities XXL, Cities: Skylines, Tropico, Anno on that list? What I see is some 4X games and some titles I don't quite recognize. Either way, you're missing out on some good city building games if that's all you played.

Nah, the game is plagued by technical issues currently, but even if it weren't, I have a lot of doubt it would've raised to the expectations that they themselves built up. It's not even close to what they advertised as the next breakthrough experience. The hype train they started had no breaks and eventually crashed in the most satisfying way possible. They outright lied about the game in many occasions. Reminder that this game received over 200 awards before it even launched. This is the type of misleading propaganda that they fueled and now they're paying for it. The game sold over 8 million pre-orders and then their market value took a -1.4 billion hit by Friday after release. The whole situation is catastrophic for them and to me as a gamer it's a disgusting ****show. I feel no pity for CDPR, Cyberjunk is already off my wishlist.

Oh yes, absolutely. The comparison has been raised many times, mostly in the hope that CDPR would deliver the same type of post launch support that No Man Sky had.

Too many problems to solve I guess (and the stupid culture of trying to fix things later, instead of trying to do them right to reap the benefits later).

I wonder if they wouldn't have much trouble, if they focused only on the newest generation consoles. Given they tried to broaden its scope ranging over the older ones, it might have been a reason it has so many issues with specs and performance. Just pure greed, as usual.

Not to mention the bugfest, glitches, misleading concepts, which remind me of Mess Effect Andromeda. But MEA also had bad writing and dubbing to boot. The only thing that seems marginally decent on both games might be visuals. Although I cannot attest for Cyberpunk entirely, as I don't own the actual game. On propaganda, it looked fancy.

I bet you enjoy the corpo shill life path the most. All is well? Really?

On account of 13 mil copies sold, only the stakeholders might be happy. That's money in their bank accounts. For that though they had to trade:
- an overhyped, unfinished and buggy product on release;
- an angry dev team forced to work overtime and crunch during weekends / holidays;
- a giant hit to CDPR's reputation;
- a giant hit to CDPR's market value;
- first parties (Microsoft, Sony, etc.) having to damage control for them and refund / remove the game from their stores;
- game reviewers casually handling 10/10 praise and 200 awards before the game was even released and then re-reviewing the game post-launch to give scores of under 5/10 and save some face, admitting that they were never sent console versions;
- vacuum of trust for raising expectations they knew they couldn't (and didn't) deliver, but had to keep the party line going so it wouldn't affect sales;
- a community whose majority content is bug / glitches compilations and memes;
- the game is at a lousy 78% positive reviews on Steam, an almost exclusively PC market, which only demonstrates that it is far from being the stellar, industry-defining, next generation experience it was marketed as. Reminder that PC version is Cyberpunk at its peak, with none of the console issues.

It's a veritable ****show by all accounts, but sure, all is well
You're Polish and work in IT, I wonder why you're so lenient in handing them criticism, but so eager to praise. I just can't imagine.

Stevie I don't quite understand what is the deal with you atm... I enjoy conversing with you, but recently I feel like I'm either attacked by you or am a target of some ill-mannered jokes (the CP one)...

I don't know if you noticed but I've voiced my disappointment with the game quite clearly, and only changed my rhetoric a bit after it turned out the game can be at least set up so it's playable on PS4 (apart from the bugs ofc), which I initially thought was impossible. And there's a difference between badly optimized and unplayable. I've been playing games all my life and I know how I can evaluate a game I think. I still think what CDProjekt Red did is a disappointment on par with what Blizzard did to Warcraft 3 Reforged, so it is actually a big deal for me.

"All is well" - I thought at least you will catch the cynism here: need I spell it out to you? It was sarcasm, because despite all their wrongdoings the game is a financial success, once again proving that quality, humbleness and action-and-reaction don't mean jack snow in todays day and age and hype + capitalism always win. It once again proves that Disney, EA, Ubisoft or any other corporation to boot are in the right: because with all the naysayers around, damaged reputation and other worthless moral code snow, at the end of the day it is them who win. Sad but true. And if it works for companies I despise, why should I be even bother to criticize a company I was rooting for?

I'm kinda disappointed with your recent attitude towards me. I know you have a beef with corpos, but why taking it out on me? Is it because I didn't show interest in the games you're playing? Genshin Impact and Fenyx are nice games, but the formula for me was entirely fulfilled by BotW.

Maybe instead of elaborating what my complicated relation to this game is all I should say is either: "console peasants go and buy a real hardware!" or "snow CProjekt Red!" instead... because being neutral in the middle is a no-no nowadays.

PS: The decision about releasing the game at this point was entirely made by the management. After a year the game will probably be in it's optimal state, with additional content, bugfixes and optimization. The problem here is that the decision was made a year or so too early, maybe even because players (and probably investors ) were sending death threats after the game was delayed yet again. And evaluating if a game is groundbreaking based on all the different player tastes and their definition of what an overhyped game should look like is pointless to say the least.

Well.......................................... Now I feel bad. Clearly my cynicism device is not the first thing malfunctioning. Ever since the game launched I thought you were apologetic about the game, given it's a Polish company, maybe some national pride or something else at play. So when you wrote that all is well with a smiley face, it really ticked me off. But I guess I misunderstood, and for that and the tone of all that followed, I am sorry. I find it a good thing that we can openly talk about it. I too enjoy our conversations, so I won't let things like this put a dent on that. I hope the feeling is mutual.

About that joke, it didn't matter whose name was in there, I was going to do it anyway since I had it prepared and was waiting for the moment. It happened to be yours, tough luck. Though I will apologize for the indexing of that page hitting many police filter checkboxes. I hope you'll be able to clear the misunderstanding when you get swatted. You could go with "It was a prank bro!", that usually does it.

I should stop.
Okay, on topic. I'm playing Genshin's new expansion right now. Also Divinity 2 with the new gift bag.

Cyberpunk sucks atm, management's fault, maybe lesson learned, if not, their funeral. Lesson learned for consumers also. Not worth pondering too much about it. Just waiting time make its hocus-pocus and check upon it few months from now. That's about it.

*******

Getting back to Dead Cells, as the new update came live recently. Another DLC coming next year, early next year.

Bought Rain World due the Steam's Winter Sale. It felt quite fun thinking on a slugcat thingy as the protagonist. Wonder how the idea of making a cat merged with a slug came up. Sounds like the result of a brainstorm.
