On AB campaigns you couldn't choose the difficulty so they weren't that hard...
Only that campaign took me extreme time to finish it. It's the first time i reached 99!!!!!!!! to a primary stat.

I never had stats like those shown on the picture. I, hardly, ever had about 40, and even then felt myself as a tank! It's not good idea to crawl through Tatalian swamps with necro troops unless you have, at least, Expert Pathfinding. So, maybe this is why this campaign took that long. 17 months are damn slow! You need more heroes to fight effectively. Fear not when you're one alone, fear when you're zero

Longer you play, more chances are that game freezes on AI's turn (resources overflow), so it is recommended that anything finish before 12th month.

I didn't have problem with Ai's playing time. They just had Town portal and were moving from town to town gathering extremely large troops, having Legions. Not even my basic hero could beat theirs with those stats. I just thought it would be an easy campaign and was playing carelessly and it concluded with me running all over the map to capture one by one town. I didn't have Expert Earth Magic and it was a pain not able to use Town portal. I also didn't have Fly or Magic Mirror which made the game just impossible to beat after some time.

Actually the AI played very defensively. He was only attacking with Liches leaving all his army on the fortress. I casted berserk plenty times and thanks to my stats I managed to win. I played that fight nearly 10 times though to win.

I've finished this campaign on 1-3-1, so it took 22 15 days to complete the task. But! Did you know that you can take away troops from your garrisons? I was surprised about this fact... I don't remember if I used this unfair feature earlier, but if you close your eyes and accept such a gift from unknown mapmaker you'll easily beat necromancers.

Reading this thread and others made me want to go through the campaigns all over again, mainly for fun.Unfortunatley I had to take a break because I got sick, but I still completed a few of them before that.I wanted to start with SoD,the only ones where you could change the diff.level, I almost forgot they were the only ones with this feature(yes it's been a while since I last played any of the campaigns)and also the events take place before RoE and AB.I would like to talk about how the last mission in Yog's campaign went, since it's been discussed here earlier:
After a failed attempt to defeat Aine and co. with my mere Stronghold forces,I had to try something else.So on the second try, after I put together a decent army from my town and local dwellings(as many troops I could afford starting out with no resources) and some wandering monsters that joined me,I waited for Aine to come. When she did,I broke out in the Wizards' lands and took their towns with few losses. After that,it wasn't very difficult to get an army stronger than Aine's from the Tower towns while she was still in my lands,so the final battle with her wasn't that hard and the other heroes were easy to take down. After that all there was left to do was to deliver the artifacts. Not as tough as I thought it would be,but I was also lucky to catch the enemy unprepared and with Aine away.Skills...I couldn't get resistance but had most of those that angelito mentioned: Logistics,Archery,Offense,Tactics etc that were very helpful.

This is called 'ghost hero bug'. You can leave your hero without army in different ways. Personally, I don't use it. 'Ghost' heroes are very good as scouts as they have 2000 Movement Points (as if they had a 11+ speed creaute actually).

only way i can imagine to do this is to cast elementals ans let the rest of your army die, but this would be very late in th game and rather useless

It could also happen if you resurrect your creatures in combat but don't have enough Earth magic skill to keep them permanent,so after you win the battle your hero ends up with no creatures, but that can also happen only rarely.
Actually there is a much easier way to do this, explained in this thread Someone else used the trick playing against me and I thought it was funny so I was happy to learn the secret from here

I`m looking for a custom campaign; it`s for shadow of death, you play with Gelu it`s on impossible dificulty and at the end of it you have to defeat a hero who has 500 azure dragons, 12000 enchanters, 6000 diamond golems etc.. I forgot how it is called and i can`t find it anywhere. Can someone please hell me and tell me where i can find this campaign or at least how it is called ?
