Hero - IC
((You can write a short message in your posts by putting two parentheses at the start and end like this. Please put longer questions in the OoC thread, tho))
The year is around 490 AD, set on Earth, more specificaly, an unknown continent known as Magitara... Magitara is a land of incredible feats, daring heroes, and twisted villains... The secrets of magic lie in deep the land as many fantastic creatures battle for dominance...
Sorry for the entry thing, I go a little over the top sometimes.
Btw, you can start wherever you want to, but eventually we have to meet, so no starting and never at least heading towards someone else later.

The alley was peaceful. No guards or civilians to taunt and attack him as he made his way through the rundown gutters. It hopefully wasn't to far away, now. Yes, there it was. At the edge of a building, hardly noticable in the dark, was a sign that read Druuk's Tavern. The lizardkin pushed open the door. There was a large variety of creatures; some goblins, a light elf, two wraiths taunting a lesser shadow fiend, and a strange looking creature resembling a cross between an orc and an insectoid. But what Stillscale had come for wasn't a drink, nor a tale. No, Amurris had come for another adventure...

Tael Riverine stood by the outskirts of town, watching the people inside move around. All moving to their death, some slowly some faster. He was there to give a few of them the nudge down into the abyss, ending their light. He moved slowly forward, a part of the shadows and slightly more silent. As he entered town he made sure to stay close to the buildings, only his shining white hair giving away his precense. Few people looked in his direction, those who did hurried to get back to what they were doing. No one seemed to be in their way, those who saw him heading in their direction seemed to find something better to do elsewhere. Everyone wanted to put as far as possible between themselves and death, logically enough.
He were there to kill a salesman who had neglected paying his debt to a powerful loanshark, and retract the payment in blood. The man had switched cities, and believed himself safe. No one was safe, anywhere. People never learned, they were all fools. He stopped and looked up, seeing a light go out in a window. Then he smiled, and stopped a person by grabbing his shoulder.
"Is this where Mario Grombel, the salesman, lives?" Tael asked, forcing the man to meet his gaze.
"Y-Yes." the man stottered, and Tael let him go. He ran off, and looked back twice to make sure the horrifying elf didn't follow him. But the elf were gone, as if vanished in smoke. Which was actually the case, as Tael Riverine had turned to a dark grey/green smokecloud moving swiftly toward the window in the cover of the darkness.
He entered the window and turned into his human form again. The man, Mario, had just put his little boy to sleep in a crib and were heading for his own bed where his wife were already asleep. He saw the shadow darker than the room itself standing by his window, and his breath caught in his throat. He opened his mouth but no sound made it out. The breeze from the window made the persons hair shimmer like silver around the persons face, making it seem like a black skull in comparison.
"Any last word, salesman?" Tael said, his voice low but every word was like a knife in Marios heart.
Mario opened his mouth, but didn't know what he should say. His eyes filled with tears and he shook his head. "Don't hurt my family, please."
Tael smiled, though not visible in the dark. "I never go off contract."
The man nodded and closed his eyes, death came quick and silent.
At dawn, a scream woke the citizens of the city.

Amurris started looking around. There he was. The lizardkin slowly made his way towards a cloaked man, who stood maybe 5 feet tall. As Stillscale turned to sit at the man's table, the cloaked figure began to talk.
- Stillscale. Glad you found the place.
The man's voice sounded like he was disconnected from his body, and it gave a slight echo.
- Yesss... thisss cssity is a maze.
- Quite true, Amurris.
- Ssso, is it true Sssefiok? About the heroesss?
- Little information in this town is nothing more than a rumor. But, I have heard tales of Thryacin's disapearance from merchants as far away as The Eel.
- And of the other two?
- Alastor was with the elf king holding off an attack by lycanthropes when he vanished. Many elves saw him, but they don't know what happened, and I can only assume a simular thing happened to Saint Christian.
- I sssee... how much, Shadow Whisssper?
- 50 copper coins.
- Very well.
As Amurris walked out of the tavern, his tail knocked over a younge goblin. He rushed over to see if he was alright.
((I know Sefiok is my Blood and Gore char, but that didn't get very far and I really liked him))

Domerth sitted at a corner table in the tavern, finishing his meal. Some barmaids were cleaning up the blood of a few fanatics, who insulted and taunted him for they noticed the necromancers' gifted "prosthetics" that Domerth had. After a little show he putted on, everyone else was afraid to kick him out. His long, ash grey hair were left untied, falling down on his chest, hiding a portion of his armor. A silver blue light could be seen flowing from underneath the blindfold. Domerth cared little to other patrons, as long as they didn't got in his way. A few minutes later, a lizardman entered the tavern and caught Domerth's attention. He or she was looking for something.

Amurris knelt down to the goblin, who almost instantly jumped up and slapped the lizardkin in the face.
- Away, clumsy lizardman.
- What did you sssay?
- Hmmmph, lizardmen can't remember anything. Stupid reptiles...
- LIZARDKIN! Lisssten, runt. I will hurt you. You may sssuffer. But let it be a lesssson about-
The goblin spun around. His skin was ghostly white and his eyes had a reddish sort of glow.
- Be quiet or I'll rip a lung out of your chest!
- Your a Cursssed one! A Death Knight!
- Yes I am, and you should be very scared right now...
Suddenly a shadow took a form. His dark red eyes pierced deeper than a Death Knight's. The shade started to speak.
- Morrik! Let Stillscale go! He hasn't wronged you in any way! Leave!
- Someday I won't have to put up with your crap, Sefiok! You can't control my life forever...
The angered goblin left, leaving Sefiok and Amurris alone.
- Follow him, Stillscale. He deserves a lesson. Don't worry. I'll have your back.
- Why would I-
- To show him the right way. How to make himself a better person.
The shade departed after those words, leaving Amurris to think about what had been said.

((Tael just happens to be in the same tavern as the both of you ... you know, randomly. ))
Tael Riverine sipped from his glass with water and watched quietly as the goblin stalked off. Worthless creature. he thought, and looked over at the other death knight sitting further from the door. The man had killed some men without trouble, and he admired strength and skill over anything. He grabbed the bartenders arm, as the man tried to move quickly by.
"Who is that person?" he said, as always his voice low but demanding.
"How could I know, I just work here." the man answered, clearly afraid to get involved in anything.
Tael nodded, he didn't care enough to do anything else about the matter. It didn't earn him anything anyway. But it might someday. his inner voice told him, and he nodded to himself. That kind of raw power was one of the key ingredients to money in a land like this. He emptied his glass and rose, pushing a bigger man aside when the man tried to cross his path without letting him go first. It seemed as if the man wanted to start something, but one glance was enough to make him rethink the matter. Tael grabbed a beer the bar and went toward the man. That's when he noticed the blue light from under the blindfold, but he didn't give it much thought. Tael put the beer in front of the knight, looking directly toward the blindfold as if to dare the knight to ignore him.
"You are quite unique." Tael said. "What is your business in town?"

Domerth watched the whole thing. He beared little love to the goblin kin, for they have caused nothing but trouble to him in the past. While finishing his meal, he was approached by a dark skinned elf with a tankard. Domerth never could tell the real differences between the sharpears, except for their habitat and skin color.
- Hm. You look like a sturdy adventurer. I have no real business in the town, except for food and rest. Plus my horse is exhausted after five days of restless riding. I wander here and there, each time in a random direction. My goal right now is the ruined castle to the east of here. I heard that there is some insight on this.- he materialised his blade, lighting up the darkened corner. The barmaids screamed for they thought more bloodshed would take place. The sword's arcane energy completely covered the serpentine blade, giving it an icy blue glow. Giving those few seconds to the elf to look at the sword, Domerth retracted it back to the gauntleted hand. The barmaids and the innkeeper sighed from relief.
- And you? What brings you here?

((OH COME ON!! I managed to press "delete post" instead of "stealth edit" .. again! Man I hate it when I do that!))
Tael didn't even blink when the knight got his blade up, but he watched it with awe. Nice blade. he thought to himself.
"Business." Tael answered to the question. "Business no one will give a second thought thanks to your .. little show, here tonight." the elf paused, but not long enough to be interrupted. "I am bored with these jobs, kill a single person here and a single person there for just a few gold coins. Oh how I miss the good old fight for your life, where you faced great odds and still came out a champion. I want thrill, and therefor offer myself as a mercenary. Believe me when I say that you could need my abilities, especially if you're taking on a castle. I can get where most others cannot, and an extra sword is always good to have. What do you say?"

Amurris stumbled on. He was pretty sure he was going the right way, but the goblin had either covered his tracks or left none. How even a cursed one could step so gracefully along the mud was unknown. Still, every now and then, the lizardkin would spot an ear or sword. Eventually, the Stillscale lizard caught up with the poor goblin. Without even glacing at the lizardkin, he began speaking.
- What now? Did you want to die, reptile?
- No. Sssefiok sssent me to teach you sssome mannersss, goblin.
- What do mean?
- I'm not sure myssself, but I believe I have to train you.
- Train? Do you mean as a warrior?
- No. I mean as an honorable fighter.
- Fine. Do what you can. I will never change.
- We'll sssee.

It had been five boring days of training with the reptile. Morrik was liking it less and less. Every hour he was waiting with the most boring combat in Magitara. More often the lizardman was giving speeches rather than showing any "honorable" moves. This whole thing was pointless, but every time Morrik tried leaving, he was stopped by Sefiok. He knew if he didn't change, he would spend countless ages listening to the reptile blabber on about the "unhorable" uses of knives. Morrik couldn't stand it, so instead he decided to act like he was learning. ((You can fill in the 5 days I skipped, they just didn't have any action, so I jumped into the future. Doesn't mean everyone did))

The two "companions" made their way up a hill. On they top they could see an old ruined castle. Truly, it was a stunning sight, however, Morrik was hard to impress.

- We're waiting here for a few days.
- For what?
- For a chance. Ssset up camp. I'll go on guard dutiesss firssst.
Morrik still didn't get the reptile, but some of his lessons made more sense after he thought them over. "Maybe this honor thing isn't so bad after all." He thought. "Maybe..."

Domerth rode out of the still sleeping town, with new companion closely following him. He was true to his words and only fell behind several meters. They entered a large dense grove, which mighy trees letted little light through. After a few hours they approached a clearing with an encampment. From the signs and insignias, the residents of the camp were hunters of some sort. They were talking.
- I'm telling you, the fortress is haunted!
- you faced hundreds of demons and you're afraid of some ghosts?
- They aren't ordinary ghosts I tell you. Their guarding something.
- That's just supersticious crap! The others were clear as this clearing!
- Then what happened to Mar'shen and Kylle? They got butchered by them! I barely escaped alive!
- Hey- one of them pointed at Domerth- what is that? A Death Knight or a demon?
- Where?
- HERE!- furiously shouted Domerth and charged straight at the camp.

At the encampment Domerth was charging, Salim and Poat were sitting by their own fire playing chess.
"Hmmm..." said Poat as he tried to look through Salim's complicated moves and hidden plans. Finally he decided to take out Salim's knight with his queen, giving him a check on the king. "Ha! Try that one, Salim."
"As you wish." replied Salim with a wry smile. He then moved his king out of the way of the queen, knowing that Poat would pursue a check with thinking.
"Ha! You think that'd stop me?" said Poat while chased the king with his queen as Salim predicted.
"Hmmm, yes, quite." Salim then took Poat's queen with his remaining knight, while also checking the king.
"Wait a minute...how did you...where was...ahhhh..." said Poat in confusion until he suddenly realized what Salim did. "Very clever...well I know at this point that-"
Just then Poat and Salim saw the other hunters being killed by Domerth quite handily. They quickly got up and put on all their weapons as well as packing up all of their belongings (which wasn't much). Just as they finished, Poat then found himself just about to get his head sliced off by Domerth. Salim quickly tackled Poat out of the way, drew his shamshir and was ready to fight their powerful opponent.
