Pre-rendered 2D view with highly detailed CG quality will be nice. or detailed animated. But I'll hold my vote for now.
As for 4 resources. It comes as a shock. Still got this mixed feeling, Still pending the judgment.

2D towns are OK, I have never waited for the 3D town screen to end, 1 click and you almost had a good 2D screen.
But 4 resources, OMG 
Still, I don't like prequels. Why can't they carry on the story after Kingdoms?
And 5 factions? There goes the whole new bestiary stuff. Expansion packs will be waited like Messiahs.

Yeah, and like others have pointed out, it's not like 7 resources make for a slow game, I can think of at least two ways to fix that in H3 alone.
