Okay, the arms look awkward, and the wing-guard look weird, but other than that I suppose it looks alright. Oh, and the swords look pretty weird as well.

This, and what OP said. The double-swords are miss-matched, and the wing-guards look .. uncalled for. Other than that, it's pretty ... unsurprising.

One notices that Angel and Devil seems to be gone as name, possible to avoid religious references? Haven now has Ceraphs, Inferno has (Arch) Demons.

I have to say i exspected more but i like it.
1.The wing guards are just wrong but i agree they need some kind of protection.
2.Dual swords are a nice idea but should be in one color. About them beeing too big - thats just bull****
3. the skirt is too big and the upgraded one should have some ornaments on it, because its just blank.

Seraph is Christian as is Demon, if they were trying to get rid of religious references they weren't trying too hard.

I would actually prefer if the upgrade would actually change abit more than the color and some insignificant details.

Demon, daemon, daimon are all neutral, moral-free words initially and have nothing to do with Christianity as they are quite older than it. Roughly speaking, the daemon is a spirit. Whether this spirit will be good or bad is an entirely different matter, but it could be quite neutral as well. It bears some resemblance to the arabic djins and some other such entities.
Seraphim are of Judaic origin and as the jews were initially polytheistic and pagan-deities-worshiping people, they could as well be a remnant of the old times - just like the vast majority of the evil "demons" which are earlier local gods. In fact they are hardly described as anything angelic-like at first. So, again, Seraphim are before Christianity and are just merged with it.
Many other such "one-religion-specific" creatures can be traced back to some pagan, polytheistic or generally common ancient root.
But then again, when we are talking about angels and seraphim in one sentence or in one context, it's just bloody stupid to place the elite below the commoner.

Perhaps Seraph(im) is a remnant of ancient Jewish polytheism. It seems to me that, as the name "Seraphim" is now used, to my knowledge almost exclusively in real-world terms, to describe not just angels but a specific choir of Judeo-Christian angels that the connotation leans strongly in that direction.

Michael the Archangel was/is a Seraph, according to Judeo-Christian mythology for the record. If they're trying to maintain religious neutrality with that, then they're not doing a very good job.

Anyway, that's just my two cents. Demons, on the other hand, are pretty universal, especially muscle-bound, fiery red(dish) ones - more a product of popular culture than Judeo-Christian theology and mythology.

If you take a look at the creature description, it says that Seraphs are more "human-like" than proper angels, which are beings of perfect beauty and light. I'm going to guess that the "light elemental" seen in that battle picture between Haven and Necropolis are the actual angels and, possibly, Haven's champion unit.

Pretty sure Seraph/Celestial is the champion. Angels higher than them like the Archangel General would be classified as boss I think.

That may well be. I'm just speculating that the "light elemental" from the art is actually an angel, based on the description of angels given in the text for the Seraph on the official website (and also the fact that the Seraphs aren't "full" angels, apparently).

Yes, I'm aware, but still it's a bit more elusive; i suspect outside certain fantasy (ironically) and possibly religious circles, many people wouldn't know. But maybe I'm wrong.

I think you'd be hard pressed, even with the name-change, which, really, isn't much more than throwing a sheet over an elephant, Haven is still angelic, Inferno is still hellish.

What if Elvin was female?

I'm wondering how are they going to implement those artworks in-game. I agree with most people here that two swords look a bit strange. However, it would be really cool if in battle those swords stayed sheathed and the Seraph only took out one sword when he needs to act, i.e. the red one when he attacks and the blue one when he heals.

Wow this should be the worst concept art so far... The good thing is that I do like the core design only that putting those weird wing guards in uncalled for. Moreover, I'll also join the group that find the 2 two-handed swords (judging by their looks) as totally irrational. Although I'm not an artist , their colors also seem to me as not matching. The bright side is they can fix it quite easily (or so I think):

1. lose the wing guards and find some-other idea of differentiating between the normal and updated creature (i found the h3 angel/archangels pretty god maybe they can get some inspiration from there)

2. replace the 2 two-handed sword by 2 single handed swords and fix their coloring, alternatively put only one two-handed sword and find a solution to give it different color depending on the type of attack it performs.

3. Personally I don't mind that much the creatures' names but since quite a few people disagree they could also replace the celestial/seraph with something like enlighter/celestial (indeed the seraph is not a lesser angel but the other way around).

I don't even mind the seraph wielding two enormous swords.  But something has to be done about the hilt and pommel, which remind me a little bit too much of Kingdom Hearts.  What the seraph has in her hands right now is not a weapon that you could ever wield in battle.  Forget the weight; the shape of it would never allow you to swing effectively.

Change the swords (Keep the size, just alter the hilt and pommel to make them more realistic), omit the weird golden "spiky halo" thing going on, and I think I can ignore the wing-guards just fine.

If we start pointing what is practical and what is not in the creatures' armament, it will turn out that more than a half of the pictures released so far make no sense at all. Which is true. I think Ubihole are aware of the fact that their creations look ridiculous, but don't give a rat's arse about it and count on the fans of Shiny® and Epic™. So - accept the Seraph and the Celestial as they are.

Ok, the Seraph looks good. The Celestial could use some help.

Well, as everyone else said, I also think that the wing guard looks strange, maybe they could use some inspiration from the mmo Aion, which I also think has some good designs for Faceless wings, but surely only as inspiration.

Maybe they could enlarge its wings, or even give them an extra pair. But since we don't know how the Angel bosses will look like, they have to take care not to make the Seraph/Celestial too close looking to the bosses, or having to make the bosses something absurdly shiny and dissonant from the other bosses.

I have no problem with the swords, only that the blue one could use a stone/ball that is missing

What bothers me is something that goes with almost all upgrades so far: they are just adding a bit of something.
- Necropolis gains spider-things and green glow.
- Inferno gains more darkness and fire.
- Haven gains white/gold and angelic.
- More armor, but armor is never enough anyway

Its no big deal for most creatures, I find most of the upgrades cool.
Oh, wait. But in this case it's already an angelic and white creature. So other than the gold, something else could be added. Like some visible aura, or major differences in its dress and/or wings.

I agree that the upgrade looks more like an alternate look than a stronger aspect of Elrath, even more looking at the enormous difference between upgraded and unupgraded versions of all the others Haven troops that we have seen so far, but I am really the only one who thinks that the wings-guard things looks like horns? Maybe a reference to the horns of judgement? I think that's a pretty smart adding for the overall task of the angels in Heroes, like "the end has come for all the villains".

Looks kinda cool, but a few changes would make it much awesomer.

1. Remove lower ring-thingies on the hilts.
2. Remove/alter Celestial's wingguards.

I do think it's weird to introduce some kinda angel sub-type and not just have the real Angels, though if I remember correctly there's a story reason.
