Filled in.
The Stronghold not being in the list of favorite town (although I voted it in 'others') is no good omen for seeing it in the next MM:H6 for me.

Maybe they were asking about which factions would we want for expansions: Academy, Dungeon or Sylvan, and Stronghold was not included because it will possibly be a default faction?

Good thing with this survey - the fans might get a saying now

I'd say the contrary was most likely. But I think it could be this way. Unless they are ok with throwing one almost made faction (as I believe they must be somewhere above the concept phase with it) in favor of the fan choice. Which wouldn't be the first time it happens, except for the choice part. Oh and the random factor, as we don't know which one is in or not.

^Changing it to the fan decision would mean rewriting the story as well, I don't see that happening. I don't think the survey will affect anything at all, hence why I said expansion, that one can still be affected by fans.

Yes, I don't know if my post sounded the way it should, but I agree with you. The survey can influence much more the preferred faction(s) for an expansion than the upcoming release. And that is if said faction is not already in, but again they can pick the others in order of preference, so its win-win if they care about this, anyway

Hey, at least you got it in H5.
Conflux and Fortress didn't even get an appearance past HoMM III, bring them back,Black Hole! Hopefully more people than just me wrote HoMM III Fortress in.

The swamp town of H3 was really great. My number 3 favorite I would said.
However I do miss more the stronghold of H2 and H3 than lizardmen. Not H4 chaos town, though.
I did not play H5 TotE, btw.
Besides, the possibility of a Naga town in H6 can almost be seen as a return of Fortress !

It could be, but the Hydra is back to Dungeon and Lizardmen and Gnolls would be gone, it wouldn't be the same.
ToTE's Stronghold was actually fairly similar to the old barbarian towns if I recall correctly, the essence was the same even if a lot of the units changed around.
That said, as long as Gorgons and Basilisks made it, I'd be happy. And psssh, shame on you, Conflux was cool! Overpowered like something else, but cool.

Funny that I found a non-Might and Magic question the hardest...

None of those, so I guess I can't move on.

Easy to remedy, buy Starcraft II, then come back 10 hours later.

Starcraft..pfff.
Funny that both Civ 5 and DoW 2 was on the list, played neither but have put at least 10+ hours on their predecessors the latest year.

The "unique about might and magic world" question had me confused. I just used the text box to rant. Too good an opportunity to miss. :-P
And I really liked how each race felt different in Heroes 5. Especially the original campaign. I used the warlock to kill creatures, my troops were just there to prolong the battle so I could get enough spells off. And for the first time, I was happy to see undead troops because I KNEW they would join me (flashback to the hideous H4 undead campaign where you couldn't practise necromancy since every other stack was undead). I'm hopeful this gameplay mechanic will remain in H6.

I disagree.
The Conflux town type was a perfect example of what an expansion set should do. It should provide something new to the gameplay that you maybe never thought of - or had thought of, and were curious to see how it might be implemented.
Before the Conflux, all elementals were neutral creatures that you could never stock up on because they were so rare. The Conflux made them accessible, and gave players an opportunity to see how a hero's army might function if it was comprised solely of elementals. It explored a single aspect of the game and expanded on it. Conflux might not have been an essential part of Heroes III, but it was worth buying the expansion for because it added something different.
I would say that's a more successful concept, and one I'm more willing to accept, than the idea that an expansion is a means of implementing something necessary. A faction made up entirely of orcs, or dwarves? The question I have, almost immediately, is why those factions didn't appear in the initial release. I understand that the company still has to make money, but as an expansion I'm looking more for something new and exciting, rather than something that should have been in the game to begin with.
That's the end of my tirade. Conflux may have been a silly sort of town type, but as a concept for an expansion, it made perfect sense to me.
