If you can't update the first post of this thread, then maybe you should make a new thread? The link in the fist post is broken and is not the latest version.
Also I'm kind of lost between all the different versions : 1.8, 1.81, v2 and v3 which I cannot find and v4...

I'll make new topic on Era 1.9 release, cause it's next generation version.
P.S Unfortunately, password restore service is broken.

Exebuilder?
Does anyone know how to use the included exebuilder? I can't find any english documentation on this.
I ask because I'm trying to make an exe for Heroes 3 that runs everything "stock" so to speak (I want to erase all traces of WOG) but still support global erm scripting from the data/s/ folder. Is this even possible?
Any direction is much appreciated.

It's very hard. Much easier to exclude not used things from wog. Rewrite options txt, delete new monsters defs, new objects masks. In one word unpack and mod wog installation package, but not exe. All new txt files are necessary.

Okay, thanks for the tip. I started doing that and then thought there had to be a better way. Apparently not, so I guess I'll just keep plugging away at it.
I really like the level of depth in regular Heroes III, but I did always long for a spell/skill balance pass and a UI upgrade. That's what I'm striving to achieve in my build. As soon as you start throwing in new units and buildings and commanders and whatnot, it's just a different game that I'm not interested in playing (no offense).

Good luck. By the way I also had a wish to make such an extra small wog package with almost no alterations, so I will be interested in your work too. If you find any troubles write here.

Hi all. Congratulation for your great job.
I have a question and a request
1) The question...
I have seen that this version of h3wog.exe (3.392KB)(WoG+Era 1.xx) doesn't start on Win98.
The game works if i use the original h3wog.exe (3.360KB), but when i launch a map, appear some ERM error.
It's normal or is my pc that has some problem with the "new" h3wog.exe?
2) The request...
It would be nice to have in the game a list of items that a player needs to create a Combined Artifacts (Sod+WoG).
Can you create a plugin that adds a new button (in the column of the map adventure or in a hero screen, or with a right click) that open a window that explains this list of Artifacts?
It's possible?
Unfortunately I'm not a programmer...
Bye and thanks for your attention!

Hi. Thanks for the post.
Era uses system libraries with "32" postfix like "kernel32", "user32", which afair are "kernel" and "user" in Windows 98. So unfortunately your Windows is not supported.
About the plugin. I'm not writing any of them currently because of strict plans for programming products for the next several months.

I was thinking something like the "mithril_price_list.gif". I can try to create a .gif, but my knowledge ends here.
Mmm... When I draw it will post a picture here. Perhaps...
Then if u have time...
Bye!

Quote: Some DLL's already created and released:
- replacing regular blacksmith with warfare factory;
- using png images instead of some sprites;
- some that allows to use ERM commands in high-language libraries;
- enlarging dwellings number;
- enlarging number of artifacts;
- enlarging number of hero classes;
- adding 6th miscellanceous artifact slot;
- enlarging number of creatures. In two variants.
I noticed some people talk about a specific dll that allows one to put more creatures in the game without having to replace any of the original. Tried hard to find more about it, but despite a couple hours of browsing around I couldn't even discover some info.
Is this true and how could I obtain this and put it in use?
I would imagine this would cause some hype and a specific thread, and yet it didn't and people don't pay much attention, why? The creature numbers limit has been one of the long standing issues, nobody excited at the prospect of discovering a way around it?!

Berserker, thank you for fixing the "next hero" button. The only remaining problem is that the right-click on towns mini-icons on right (when we are inside the town) does not display all the info stuff we were used to.
Here is how it looks in Heroes complete:
