"And we're just going to let them?" Melony practically yelled. She took a deep breath and went into her unearthly calm again. "Sorry, Al, but I still have to get used to the idea that this is a war. That I can't save everyone." She winced and said, "That not everyone is trustworthy or kind. Not to say that you aren't trustworthy," She hastily added, "but by all accounts, you are not very kind."
She walked over to the bathroom. "I'll see you at 6, I guess."

As Melony walked into her bathroom, Ouroboros teleported into the dining hall where Siegfried sat drinking a bottle of beer. He sat down and slumped over the table.
"Trouble?" said Siegfried.
"A bit." Ouroboros replied.
Siegfried put down the bottle and outstretched his hands. "Can I help?"
"Sure."
Siegfried put his hands on Ouroboros's head as he calmed down. Siegfried's eyes went pure white and glowed for a bit. He took his hands off as his eyes resumed their natural color. "I see...well that is interesting."
Ouroboros sat up. "What should I do?"
"In your best interest? Nothing. In hers? As much as possible. Take what knowledge you can from that and nothing else. I'm no therapist or anything. Just a simple man with a talent."
"I understand. Thank you."
Siegfried took another gulp of beer and then said, "It's not what I say that decides what you do. It's what you hear."
With that Ouroboros put on his mask and teleported off.
In one of the Machine Mob's sites, Ouroboros appeared. He then proceeded to destroy as many of the droids as possible with his powers and the robots' weapons. Eventually, he managed to destroy them all, leaving smoking ruins. Little did he know that a bystander was able to capture it all on his phone. The witness ran off to the nearest news station.

Melony came out at six in her dress that Ouroboros had picked. It's actually rather beautiful... She thought.
She sat down at the table and waited for Ouroboros to meet her.

The aircraft had landed on top of the hospital, and Kane had taken Carrie to the hospital bed at once. It hadn't taken them long to stitch her up, and now he would have to wait at least an hour for her to be stable so that he could move her back to NC. He was watching the news, frowning and worrying. Someone that looked very much like Ouroboros had taken out several droids, which would mean that he was going even further in his effort to manipulate Melony. This would make it hard for him to make Inferno fight Ouroboros. He wondered how he could turn Inferno from the machine mob now... his thoughts started to drift toward Melony as he sat there waiting...

- The national guard is making a move against the tincans.- Said Seth, while gathering information.
- Bad news. We need to take them out. Before something worse happens.
- Gotcha.
Moments later Vlad and Seth were in the heat of the events. Seth, as usual, climbed atop the highest tower, and picked the best spot for sniping.
Vlad on the other hand, apart from the two Baramundi assault rifles he picked several of his heavy weapons. A 80mm automatic grenade launcher, a high grade laser rifle((looks like the Mass Driver gun from C&C Renegade)) and an Evolon sonic blaster((looks like Shock Rifle from UT3)).
The first enemy he encounter was military gun drones, remotely operated machines with integrated .50 cal machine guns and heavy motorised infantry. Taking cover behind some cars, Vlad destroyed the drones using the AI Buster. Unfortunately for the guardsmen, the circuitry in their APCs was also fried, along with several of Rex's droids. The power indicator showed the AI Buster's power at 5%. He then proceeded to take out the soldiers. Back in Russia Vlad intercepted a huge shipment of Rex's weapons. By what he heard, it was one of the last, before he disappeared. Vlad found a lot of upgrades for the Baramundi, including drum magazines and scopes. Though dual wielding them gave a little disbalance, but Vlad didn't particularry mind. He mowed down the troops and switched to the grenade launcher to take out the few tanks that showed up. Unfortunately Vlad was able to carry only one magazine. Occasional head shot came from Seth who focused onto the officers.
An explosion damaged a nearby building. Vlad was on a rampage.
- HELL HAS COME FOR YOU!- he shouted his old warcry and switched to the sonic blaster. A soundwave was fired upon the next wave of soldiers, shattering the windows of the buildings to pieces and killing the troops. The weapon too required to charge up before the next strike so Vlad switched to the laser rifle. It fired single, solid beam which was capable to penetrate several targets at once. It had ten shots before needing to change the crystal which amplified the beam.
By using the grav-gauntlet, Vlad throwed a humvee onto an approaching tank, and took cover behind a destroyed one, plotting his new course of actions. For once he wished to have few of his old comrades to fight side by side. Just like back in the old days.
Meanwhile Seth switched to the explosive rounds and shot down one of the news copters that were again poking their noses that where better not to.
((Nothing better to do, so I'm wrecking havoc))

Hermit shrugged to Griel "Xion is paranoid. He seems completely determined to make his plan a success, and the only ones that could make it not succeed are people like us. People with abnormal abilities. So he wants to gather as many allies as possible so that when the time comes, he will have an army of supers on his side ready to fight with him. That or to keep track of where we are." Hermit laughed a bit as a electronic voice came over the speakers of the base "Rex Mallard have destroyed part of the city. Cut out all communications in the city. Base is secure and still running. Repeat, base is secure and still running."
Hermit raised an eyebrow as footsteps were heard in the corridor. Turning to his right, Hermit saw Xion coming in through the door together with another man. ((That Berny must describe))
"That madman always have to leave his freaking fingerprints all over his work. I swear, that pride will be his downfall!" Xion shouted irritated before turning to Hermit and Griel and in a much nice tone asking "Where is Archon?"
"Toilet." Hermit said and pointed.
The day meanwhile in Austria
"Turn right at the next cross and then drive a few hundred meters down that road and we should be there." I pointed at the sideroad that was up ahead before turning to Edmund "Soon there."

Of the 24 sites Rex had apropriated, four were under attack. That was more than Rex had expected, especially because he had not counted on the national guard reacting so soon. It meant a few redirections of his resources, making his reaction too sluggish for his own tastes.
The site attacked by Ouroboros was destroyed. But he had left, so Rex simply sent more construction material. So far, Rex had not found any effective countermeasure to his time/space-manipulation, but his energy was finite and that was something he could work with in the future.
One site that was attacked by the National Guard was being defended well, it was the closest to the military base and Rex had expected an attack there. There was plenty 'manpower' at the site and Rex let the AI handle that. From the looks of it, the soldiers were preparing to fall back.
The other attack by the National Guard was virtually on the other end of town. Defenses were thinner there, but luckily for Rex, Vlad's PMC had shown up. For some reason or another, Vlad had attacked the Guard instead of his droids, though not all were exempt from his hardware-wiping device. Which was another thing he had to look into.
The most important fight was with Inferno. And Rex' greatest frustration was not the loss of droids or building material, those were calculated already. The redirection of troops was taking far too long.
Eventually the reinforcements showed up. And though they were the regular soldier-droids, they were especially equiped to deal with Inferno. Each equipped with a small forcefield generator to take the brunt of the heat attacks, ensuring the droids would not melt. Equiped with Sonic Weapons(big green one) and Lightning Guns, they took Inferno head on.
The Sonic Weapons blasted of chucks of the molten armour. Each blastwave was followed by a bolt of electricity at the same spot. The current certainly was not strong enough to kill Inferno, but it was strong enough to cause heavy spasms and paralysis, due to the overload of the nervous system. Rex wasn't worried that the current would cause the 'hero' any burns. And after multiple salvos, Inferno was down on the ground spasming.
The pilot-droid clanked to were Kane was waiting. It handed him a sheet of paper, written in arabic.
"Give this to Doctor Ahmed Batthir. Tell him to leg it, we're leaving ASAP. Tell him to bring everything needed to transport your friend now. Everything will be compensated in the next shipment, as stated on the paper. Things are moving and I am loosing my patience." The droid clanked back to the heli-pad.
The car pulled up to the supposed next site the expedition had gone to. As the one before, it was marked by a large hole that nobody had bothered to fill up again. Though this hole wasn't as deep.
Edmund was glad to get out of the car and inspect the site. The air hung thick with the smell of cut grass. Edmund slid down into hole first. The Commissioner and Richard soon followed, Mr. X followed slightly later having a hard time to tear himself away from the plate.
Edmund stalked around the site. "It makes no sense. There is no indication whatsoever that there, GHAAHH!" Something caused Edmund spine to glow bright beneath his stone skin, as Edmund keeled over backwards. He was unconscious before he hit the dirt.

Econ jumped down next to Lancer, tired and out fo breath. He readied his pistol and was about to fire at the droids attacking Inferno, when Lancer stopped him. "We can't do anything for Inferno right now. There is too many droids and their weapons are too fast. Wait until at least some of them leave. Then I'm going in."

Kane found Ahmed almost at once, handing him the paper and waiting for a response. It came at once, and Kane didn't even have to tell him what to do. The nurses followed him back to the ship and strapped her down in the bed along with some syringes that might be useful later on in case of complications. Kane thanked them and they were on their way.

Ouroboros quickly left to his room, showered up, and dressed nicely for the dinner. At 6:01, he teleported to the dining hall, finging Melony waiting there.
"Sorry for being late, Melony." said Ouroboros. "I was a little...busy...but I'm good now."
He stuck out his hand. "Shall we go then?"

Dr Batthir jumped onto the ramp at the last second, clutching a satchell. The dropship took off while the Tunisian scrambled in.
"So glad you could make it, Dr Batthir." Rex voice came from the soundsytem.
Batthir said something in Arabic and it took slightly longer than normal for Rex to respond.
"That may be, but your instructions were clear enough." A door to another compartement opened itself. "And if you will excuse us, I have something private to discuss with Mr Kane. He will call you if any medical aid is needed."
Batthir nodded to Kane, and went into the other compartement while mumbling something in Arabic.
"Now, Mr Kane. We agreed to discuss a little safety-deposit. Have you any offers?"

"That is what I had in mind. I fit your arm, or your leg, with a remote explosive. It triggers if you fail your end of the bargain or if you try to take it off, without my conscent. Do we have a deal?"
"Doctor, the subject is waking up!" Edmund was tied down, he could not open his eyes or speak. He was groggy but it was clearing.
"Give him more anesthetic! I cannot operate if the subject is strugling." a second voice said.
"I've been doing so for the last 5 minutes, to no avail." Edmund did not recognise the voices speaking.
"Impossible, we're started with a dose enough to put down an elephant and he is still waking up." a third spoke up. "How did you put it down in the first place?"
"By filling his cage with chloroform and waiting long." said the second.
"Use that then!" third voice.
"We can't, we would not survive the fumes of such doses, and we cannot interupt the surgery." first voice.
"What are we using now?" third voice.
"A tri-nox mixture. It has side-effects, but this is the only gas that keeps him down without putting us under." first voice.
The feeling came back in Edmund's limbs and he struggled feebly in his bonds.
"Put it under! Up the dose even more!" second voice.
"We can't! He might die and it will be on our heads." first voice.
"If it wakes up when opened up like this it will surely die! But it will rip us apart before the bloodloss takes it out.!" third voice.
Edmund regained some of his vission. It was blurry and all he could see were white shapes against a blueish background. Edmund struggled even more while letting out a low rumble.
"Upping the dose!" said the first voice as Edmund heared a strong hissing. He got more groggy and lost the feeling in his limbs again.
After a long time of hissing the second voice spoke up again. "Is he down?"
"More or less, it's still conscious but it should be paralysed." first voice.
"Good enough, stem that bleeding, I can't see what I'm doing through all that blood." second voice.
"God in heaven, that thing is huffing lethal doses of anesthetic and it's still on the verge of waking up! Severius has created something remarkable." third voice
"Stem That Bleeding!" second voice.
"Sorry, on it." Third voice.

"Please, the explosive would be small and directed at the bone, only enough to severe the limb and cauterise the wound. Nobody knows explosives like I do. Besides, My explosives aren't that noticable. It'll look just like a piece of jewelry. And demonstrate power to whom? You? What would I gain with that?"
