It could be an altar for their dragon-gods or even an altar where you learn a spell... With altars there are plenty of possibilities out there...

It doesn't make much sense for a Hydra to be there then...

Well if it was a dragon, then there would be small differences between these dragon altars. This way you know it is a altar/shrine for dark elves... it is just my guess...

My bet is that it is just a some kind of new altar.
My first thought was that it was a building where you fight hydras for resources and artifacts, but as a building it looks too small for that. :/

Well because it looks like an altar and not building (vault of mages, and other similar H5 buildings) it definitely has some magical purpose.

It's exactly the same building, just from behind
Hmm ... indeed!

So, since
is a Haven dwelling, I'd say it confirms that
is another Haven dwelling. The upper (with the statues) could be an elite dwelling and the lower one could be a basic dwelling.
Scrolls coming back ?
How will that work with the "new" magic system ?
Potion ?

As I predicted earlier, this is looking more and more like Kings Bounty. The scrolls & potions are the latest. But honestly I like the scroll aspect and think it will add a lot to Heroes. Now a spell can be a one-time use thing or possibly be written into your spell book.
I'm not surprised they are adding these things to the map to ensure there is ample content and things worth getting. Can't wait for the game

I don't think it's bad at all, to have scrolls and potions in the game that could give you a boost of sorts for one battle only.

Any one else think that might be a faceless? As if this is some kind of Shrine of the underground thingy...
And the hydra is there to represent their allegiance.
(but of course it could just be a dark elf)

It misleads people and makes them wonder what it does. Really interactive! Does anyone remember "Useless building from Heroes IV" in the WoG campaign?

It could also have something to do with the six elemental dragons and the wizard Sar-Elam (the seventh dragon)...since it´s six "dragon" heads and a cloaked human.

I just hope that in the game, when you right-click it, you get a more interesting blurb than "Boosts either luck or morale for the next battle".

I still think that it awfully looks like H5's Hydra. Sure it's not a Hydra dwelling. But what kind of altar would sport a Hydra for a statue?

I doubt that the Elrath tree is interactive b/c it isn't being guarded by anything. However, I think it'd be cool if the tree (and other potential objects) had an Area of Effect. One example could be that all 'good' races within a 14 square radius of the tree receive +10% HP, etc. The same could be done for a Masoleum & the Undead.

I think it's a Quest location. You don't interact with it, but you will probably have to defend it from attacking enemy heroes. Like, not letting them reaching it or that sort of quest scenarios.
