Pretty much, people who try to engage in serious debate on Facebook make me facepalm. 
So many people just pour every detail of their lives out onto it, it's pretty irritating.

It shows up in the news feed, I don't have much of a choice in reading it. And call me crazy, but people calling out friends or (ex) boy/girlfriends they're having issues with over Facebook strikes me as rather crass; you're exposing personal and private issues (which are hardly small) to hundreds of people you don't even know that intimately. That is what I dislike people doing on Facebook; having debates about stuff is fine, but taking personal issues online in a public forum? I don't agree with that.

There's the ability to hide what stuff is shown such as making it only readable by very close friends instead of everybody that comes into contact with your page. There's also the ability to hide people's posts on your news feed. So, what is the problem? It's your fault if you're too lazy to hide annoying posts and even then, if you have so many problems with FB, then don't use it? lol?

But that's my point; people don't hide their posts to make them specifically visible to the people they are pertinent to. Furthermore, the fact that you can hide peoples' posts doesn't change the fact that posting personal arguments on Facebook is in rather poor taste in the first place, no? And I have to read the peoples' posts to know I want to hide them.
I really, really don't appreciate being called "lazy" because I expressed a dislike for a tendency some Facebook users have, and I have mentioned only one specific problem I have with it, not "so many"; so let's tone down the hostility and be a little more courteous, OK? This kind of attitude is exactly why I avoid the OSM.

Don't take it to personal Swampy will doesn't mean ill he can just get like that at times when he feels strongly about something. He means no offense.
Still I couldn't agree more with your sentiment. I don't have facebook despite the incessant begging of people. I also find Facebook to be a pretty sad place... exactly because people really seem to missunderstand that it's like a public diary. Except that the vast majority seems to have no sense of shame or privacy anymore lol. A friend of mine had a girlfriend with whom he was on and off quite a few times and everytime that **** would right the most outrageous and private things on her page... I mean really where do people like that get off lol? Everybody and their pet fish are on facebook and you tell stuff about your boy/girlfriend, love life, weird fetishes, cheating on tests, parental problems, etc. etc. etc. to the whole world oO? That they share it isn't the sad part the sad part is that they don't seem to understand that their thoughts aren't private anymore.
No offense to you will, I mean good for you if you've found a way to use fb without baring your soul to the internet and the universe while still retaining a sense of privacy but you've got to agree that the vasty majority doesn't lol. I really don't like what fb does to a lot of people...and perhaps it's that I'm very private about my problems. No need to be all whiny and want to get everyones attention so that they comfort me (I'm not saying that's what you do will...just saying).
Now fb has its uses and I know people who use it in a healthy manner but they're a scarce few...if you're among them good for you will .

I don't have that kind of problems on facebook, most of my "friends" are members of my family, and they don't post much about their provate life. but some of them seem to spend their life playing games on facebook.
sometimes it looks pretty lame on their page, when they have like 36 achievements per day, such as seeling a coffee, managing to grow a virtual apple tree or reaching 10000 inhabitants in their virtual city. 
well, of course, don't accept to play with them, or all their achievements might well start to spam your own page 
overall, you do not often find something worthy of interest on facebook.

well as I am 15 years old and as such, 90% of my friends are around that age, 90% of what everbody writes on facebook look completly uninteresting and idiotic to me
like there is one girl who changes her "relationship" ALL THE WAY
Relationship girl has switched her status to "In a relationship".
Comments: ooooomg gzzz who is it? wanna talk on msn? omg you deserve this soo much!
Relationship girl has changed her status to "It's complicated".
Comments: Ohhhhhh sweet baby what has happened? +10 people, "I am here for you". Msn? <3 <3 tons of hearts <3 <3
Relationship girl has swapped her status to "Single".
Comments: OMG you did the right thing girl! he was an ass! lets talk on MSN or skype! <3 I hope you arent sad or... +20 teen girls "jag finns här" - english, "i am here for you" <3 <3
and then there are teens and adults alike who wrtie stuff like:
"Sitting on a toilet"
"Going to the car"
"Eating lunch"
am I supposed to care?
and then in the facebook chat people are like... (this actually happened to me two days ago)
Annoying girl: "Hi."
Me: "Hello hello".
Annoying girl: "What are you doing?"
Me: "*Lies* Eating cake." (Thinks for myself, wtf does she think I am doing?`Obviously I am sitting on facebook for some weird reason writing stuff to her".
Annoying girl: "Nice. I am playing Treasure Isle."
Me: "Is it fun?"
Annoying girl: "Yes. But I reaaaaally need someboooooody to be neighbour in that game."
Me: "*Tries to avoid getting pulled into the stupid Facebook game* Ok, anyway about that cake... Which is your favorite cake?"
Annoying girl: SOOO... DO YOU WANT TO PLAY TREASURE ISLE WITH ME? ((((This girl actually created over 5 accounts so she could send gifts to her self for that game)))
I wait for a moment to come up with something.
Me: "Honestly, I am not so interested in Facebook games. *Here I lie* I already play WoW so that already takes loooooooots of my time and I am trying out another game called Rift."
Annoying girl: "But pleeeeeaaase.  (((("
This happened two days ago and she has yet to come back to school. She is "sick". Wtf. Girls... no wonder I don't like that gender anymore.

(stupid video games = anything that is too complicated to play for them, that is to say, requiring more than one button to hit )
honestly, I haven't even tried their game, but reading their profile, that sounds so lame, I'm sure I was playing more elaborated games, 15 years ago

Not all girls are like that, FB relationships suck. And all that that you posted is absolutely right - all those stupid games and annoying stuff.
Anyway, I didn't make an account in FB for a very long time but after tons of people asked me, I did it. It was interesting for like two days and then it started to get on my nerves. Now I only use it to chat with someone but only if it's really necessary.
