I am personally not really interested in diablo 3. I never played diablo 1, apart from a single time with a friend on his console. But that was after I had been introduced to diablo 2. Diablo 2 is a game I played for years, and I still have lying somewhere. A game I invested way to much time in, way too many emotions. As such seeing a world that reminds me of diablo, where it'd earlier fill me with excitement, it fills me with disgust and despite I have close friends who're gonna play it through and have invited me as well, I'm gonna pass.

I might give it a go based upon my available time and all merely out of curiosity but I'm not much into Diablo anymore ever since I got hacked a couple of years ago. Never been the same for me since then, unfortunately.

I really hope I'll be out of my addiction when this one comes up. it looks like tons of fun, but I really don't want to lock myself up in my room playing 24/7 because of how good the game is.
I probably will, tho

I'm so psyched about this game it makes me crazy. It's gonna be the goddamn game of the century.
However I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pass on playing the Beta, with a game like Diablo I rather wait for the finished product instead of participating in the Beta.
I mean it's not like when I played in the SC2 beta where you just massed multiplayer games and when the release came you just went over to single player. In Diablo there is only one mode, and that mode I want to play first when I can play it all. 
Oh man, I want this game! hihihihih...

That's crap. He's one of the more common characters in a game of this type and he's been in it for the entire series (I think he was known as Warrior in Diablo 1). I'm gonna miss the Paladin as he was probably one of my more favoured classes to play as. Guess I'd have to switch to Barbarian for this series then.

Is Monk most like the Paladin as opposed to all the other classes? I mean, would I be able to easily adapt to using it?

I would dare say that the Monk is like a combination between D2's Assassin and Paladin.
So if you want a Paladin, I think either Barbarian or Monk would work best...

I'm going for barbarian myself, prolly... I like big brutes  Although if the monk is eye-catchy enough, I might try him. Since I liked trapsin in D2, I might even give the demon hunter a try. Magic classes always bored me a bit in Diablo so I think I'll skip those.

Magic classes bored me as well. I never really liked anything other than Barbarian or Paladin. I like going head first and killing everything.

I did like necromancer tho, but that's just because I enjoy watching carnage. Skeletons were uber, and blowing whole screen up with a single click sure was fun
I might even still have my dreamer paladin at non ladder. Anybody wants it? It has some really wicked items. Grief 400 in phase blade, for example.. and it's self-made! Just don't sell the blasted thing, or I'll cry

I hated both Paladin and Necromancer, but for some obscure reason I really look forward to play as Witch Doctor.
Not for his summon, but for his crowd control magics.
Fear and Confusion FTW! 
Actually the only think I did like with Necromancer was his curses, so now when I can play as a WD instead with actually cool spells, I know that it's going to be epic.
But to be honest I'm really adore all characters in Diablo 3 this far.

Hmm... male Demon Hunter sounds pretty damn tempting. He can bounce bombs against walls ffs, stylish stuff. Probably gonna play that guy if I get this.
Male wizard looks like he got kicked out of an anime convention.
In Diablo II I enjoyed the Necromancer the most. Corpse Explosion was beyond satisfying, BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM! Chain explosion!
My favourite character was a poison/corpse explosion char... got bored cuz I needed -poison resistance equipment to be effective and according to statistics I had a greater chance of being hit by a meteorite than finding all of that...

Never played Diablo before.
Soo its a new game kinda to me.I played Torchligh htough and I am aware of the gameplay and such,if there are any differences between this one and torchlight,though one thing that bored me to hell in torchlight was the story and the fact that I had to basically gather money to buy an uber item.Overall,it got repetitive for me.
Needless to say,once i bought(cuz items dropped from enemies were mostly useless) the uber hammer of doom in Torchlight,it was not upgraded or so,doing 1000 damage was enough to kill enemies in one blow or so.Once i finished the end,it was a no go for me.I reached level 30 or so,while the game had a limit of level 100.
I hope diablo is lengthier.

Well, we have waited enough, haven't we? For both Diablo3 and Heroes 6. I know when this game comes out I'll be addicted like hell. But I haven't decided which character I'll be using. Never played as Sorceress in Diablo 2 due to my Duriel phobia. She dies quick and most bosses have lots of resistences. And I like melee attacking most. So, I am thinking about Monk.
The official release date is still not announced, is it?

BTW haven't really played since Diablo I so, you can play with more than one character now or ????
In Diablo 2 you can have 8 characters on one account but you can have as many accounts as you want so you really have an "infinite" number of characters.
In Diablo 3 I'm not sure how many characters you can have on one account. I do know that multiplayer games are limited to 4 players and that PvP will be done in Arenas rather than in regular game areas so no more somebody popping in to ruin games for others. Oh, and there is a shared stash so you can easily transfer items between characters on the same account.
