Way too less factions
Hav´nt bothered until now to check the official H6 site. Boy was I surprised when i saw could only count five factions.
I REALLY hope this is not finished or the way its supposed to be in the end.
I need my wizards. Bet others feel the need their factions too.

You're implying H3 had quality - meanwhile, it was quite simple.
H6 has a lot of features H3 did not have, so as an exchange, it has much less content. Content, however, can always be added, if not by expansions, then my modding. Changing game mechanics, though, is a worse deal.

I about a year ago decided to revisit HoMMIII.
Whilst at the lovely atmosphere lured me back into nostalgia mode.
After playing HoMMV, judging it objectively the gameplay was not very diverse at all, most factions played extremely similar, the various heroes were more or less identical and might as well have been 2 classes for the entire game instead of 2 classes per faction.
8 Factions produced far less diversity then HoMMV's 6 factions did, where at least every faction had a unique play-style.
So yes, after taking off my rose-tinted glasses, I'm all aboard with 5 high quality unique factions over 8 variations of the same one.
Sure I wish it was 8 high quality unique factions, but we'll get there with expansions, 5 is a decent number, plenty of games launch with only two or three factions to play anyway and can get more then enough diversity out of that alone.
Like the entire Command and Conquer series.
So my stance is going to be: the number of factions is only relevant as long as the gameplay of each faction is different enough to warrant it existing.
BUT We've had this discussion about a year ago and I didn't think we reached a consenus then either.

Let's just say that you are simplifying the things quite a bit.

True it is a very subjective opinion, but I really after going back to HoMMIII, didn't feel much of a difference between the factions.
HoMMV had factually speaking, more unique elements and abilities per faction.
Take from that what you will.

I just don't have faith that Ubihole could produce a good quality H6 with the number of faction of H3. Except maybe if they increase development time to that of Blizzard's standard.

If you have an issue with Warlocks being inferno magic heroes, I'd suggest you start reading up on WHAT a warlock is.

To be honest it doesn't bother me that much, as long as the Future Dungeon heroes will have the same architecture.
However I don't care what a warlock is supposed to be, this is Heroes and what has been should remain. Heroes has it's own interprettion of things, so I f I wanted demonic warlock I can simply play Warcraft or something...

This again? Oh no! You people made me play the game, you know, to see what all this madness is about. The game is good for its age. But no way can be compared to H5 TOTE. You are just in love with its memories and nostalgia.
And why are people so annoyed with 5 factions I cannot understand. They give us way more things than the previous Heroes games. Starcraft games have 3 factions but most people worship the game. Let us see what fun we will get with those 5 factions. If we are not satisfied and get bored easily, only then is the time to complain about this.

Elvin already said that Demon aligned Warlocks are not new to the M&M brand, it is in fact older then non-demon aligned Warlocks, 4 years older to be exact. M&M III (1991) 4 years before HoMM.
And what's the point of having a tradition without any real purpose?
It doesn't change who the dungeon heroes are, their name is completely irrelevant to their qualities as respectable spell-slinging heroes.
If anything I think the name Sorceror would suit them better, but that's just me.
What other names suit inferno magic heroes anyway?
"Heretic" I find an odd choice, sure they might be called that by say Haven heroes, but it's not much of a title to give yourself, is it?
Not to mention all the things Heresy implies that doesn't apply to Ashan's rather strict religion which they follow, worshipping a different dragon doesn't really make one a Heretic does it?
Otherwise to every faction every other faction is a Heretic by definition.
(In HoMMIII it was much more appropriate do to the "nature" of the Inferno faction and the setting as a whole, and even then was a tiny bit of an eyebrow raiser.)
Edit: Whilst I mostly agree nocturnal, the point in the complainers favour is if we wait that long and it turns out as bad as people think, it's too late to complain.
Being unhappy about a game you bought is in the end you not just not-getting the game you wanted, but having spent money on the game you didn't want.
