I thought Stronghold felt really weak and haven really strong, especially Sisters.

Well, I only played with their Cores and compared to Haven, they felt much weaker.
And this is without including spells such as Heals and Regenration, just creatures and their special abilities.
Also I thought that Sanctuary and Stronghold had really boring racial skills.
I also generally thought that Elites and Champions were way to weak compared to the vast number of Core creatures you get by then.

Stronghold are beasts, just like Necropolis. Haven plays unfairly as well. Can't tell about Sanctuary and there is a lot to be improved about Inferno.

Yeah, the Necropolis Ghosts had something like -50% Might damage right? Plus yet another powerful heal coupled with Necromancy.
I am actually kind of bothered with all the early heals in the game. I think it should be restricted to Haven only and Ghosts and Coral Priestesses should lose their healing abilities.
I would also suggest making Heal and Regenration Tier 2 spells, since atleast one of them can be very strong early.
But I didn't really understand what the Lamasus did.

Stronghold is at least as strong as Haven if not A LOT more. They also have the most devastating racial of all.

Trouble with the map is that Elites are completely underrated. Sure, Necro has a killer Core Line-Up - but their Elites sucked badly. Haven has a killer Core-line up as well - but look at their Elites. I mean, you can't hit them, you can't retaliate against them, they fly, they teleport, they charge, they dispel...

I found stronghold extremely strong, haven too once I understood how they work. I also started to get an inkling that sanctuary could be dangerous in the right hands.
Necro... well ghosts were amazing but apart from that I didn't really understand how they were meant to play. Ghouls and Lamasus seemed virtually useless. I think some abilities were broken though.
Inferno I still know nothing about, my beta didn't like playing as Inferno.
I bet a lot will have changed already for the public beta though.

Elvin, I haven't seen you post your Positives & Negatives about the game yet. Are you planning to do this, b/c I'd be interested to hear how the game is so far and if the 'negatives' are things that can be fixed in time for the game launch.

A number of people have asked me that it private. Without getting into much detail, I remain cautiously optimistic™ for a number of reasons not all of which I can share.
The music, gameplay, graphics(on a decent pc, unlike mine ) and tactical depth are an appealing mix that can keep me playing for a long time. UI aside I do not agree that this game is soulless, anything but that. For that I blame the minimalist structure and lack of aesthetics on the UI, anything else about this game is beautiful and immersive.
Take earlygame, the new tier system makes early battles more creative. The choice between heroic strikes, warcries and spells you can pick from any of your native magic schools. The combos between hero and unit abilities, how each unit has a different role and character. The way growth is handled and how the way you build the town remains the same. I love the return to the traditional turn based hero action despite the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed the H5 initiative system.
But not everything works as intended and there are balance issues. Despite the misgivings however there is little that cannot be fixed later, if not in time for the release. What I see in H6 is the franchise finally finding its identity and securing a steady footing to step into the future, there may have been plenty of changes and revisions in the traditional formula but in its core it is still a heroes game and I enjoy it for what it has to offer. The open beta will be a good test of how our feedback has affected the development. From there on the game will definitely require some expansion and additional content through patches or addons but I am confident that it will be pretty playable for the release and that is enough for me. I did have higher expectations but I'll get what I can for the time being.

Thanks Elvin, and great post.
While I'm sure 'town window' is atop many people's list of priorities, it seems to me that balance should be (and likely is) #1 for the developers. Once this is relatively achieved, and I say relative b/c no heroes game was perfectly balanced, I envision the map editor and availability to mod will greater help the game going forward.
