I find it odd that so many factions have core healer units. I am disappointed by the town screens. I liked seeing the individual buildings appear in previous HoMM's.
I like the game for the most part, though. Units and abilities need a good deal of tweaking, but I find myself thinking a lot more about how to use my units as a group than as individuals. I have only really played with Haven core units, though.

The factions that have healers do have some group tactics as well. Stronghold and Inferno on the other hand are sticking to the ye olde "everybody for himself". Inferno are even fond of dealing the damage to whoever's around - whether it is friend of foe is of no real significance.
Quote: Yes, to me and another guy, don't remember who, I have just waited some 10 minutes and then it said "synchronizing faild play or try again" when you click on play everything is normal i think.
Thanks, will give it a try later.

A bug in the 2nd Slava campaign : The cost of the heal spell goes from 15 to 8, 4, 2 and finally 1 after each fight. Pretty cheap .

After finishing Broken Alliance for the first time with Haven, I have to say that they are way overpowered. Vestal's Healing and Pacification abilities + Blazing Glory's Searing Light and No Retaliation + Marksman's Piercing Bolt + the racial ability are a DEADLY combo...not to mention if you learn some more Mass Haling with your hero and some more Resurrection/Iniciative and Morale boost from the Seraphs
Completing the map was really painful....a cat and mouse game because of the stupid bug with the empty heroes (without creatures). The emtpy hero just stays in the castle, you cannot take it, because the AI will hang on the next turn...I thought that they will fix this in the public beta

A lot of players were crying Haven overpowered in Homm V... turned out it wasn't that hot, an underdog even (after Klaus was patched and training nerfed, ofc, those were undoubtedly a joke). After one game it's too early to comment on balance of whole towns imho

Played that multiplayer map with Sanctuary and Necropolis so far, so this is pretty much my feelings about Necromancer faction and about some general things:
Lack of town screens surely feel akward, like some important element is missing even when you can do all the shopping, building, etc. with this mini t-screen.
Another strategic element, resources, feels quite plain now that you only need gold, wood, ore and crystals.
I was very interested in Sactuary faction but when I played few hours, I realized they are not my thing so I swapped to all time fav, Necropolis. First thing I noticed is that necropolis has many healing (if you can call it healing when target is undead ) abilities. Hero had some kind of healing skill that was useful for low level creatures. Ghosts / Spectres have ability to heal others while doing some damage to enemy creatures. Archlich had an ability to shoot enemy creature and transfer (some) health from it to other friendly necro creature. If I remeber correctly they didn't have that death cloud (3x3) area shot from previous games. Vampires, well, you know what vampires do. It is good that vampires don't have no retailiation ability cuz they'd be OP in my opinion. At least top two didn't have any healing abilities. Bone-Sphinx (Lamasu or something?) was quite like old Bone Dragon and Fate Spinner / Weaver was bit odd yet interesting having two forms. Skeletons and Ghouls were pretty much like skeletons and zombies (yet not that slow) from older Heroes.
Liked mancers' in beta very much!

1.the blood points, even if u fight all the time, are increasing much more slower then tear points. (5 for blood, 10 for tear-cant understand y)
2.u cant have both blood and tear points for being able to learn spells accordingly (1 spell from tear and 1 from blood) cose lvl 30 means cap reach
3. most annoying: even with option fastest lvl up, the hero is very hard to reach a reasonable lvl
4. some factions are more easy to play in the beggining, some are very hard ...reason: lack of good spells/abilities (in the short term maps-multiplayer this will be very unbalanced)

One game is not enough to draw conclusions, I know that I'm just sharing some observations And I'm saying that after I played the map with all other factions. Unfortunately I have to say that Inferno (not again!) are the weakest faction so far IMO. Their creatures are dying with incredible speed no mater what
Of course, it's too early to say, I'm pretty sure that they've already changed many things and will do many more balancing but that's my opinion from this one map from the beta.

Haven is for lamers - as usual - and it does seem to be overpowered - as usual. Too many ways to reduce, negate and recover from the damage dealt by the enemy creatures while dealing a decent amount of punishment with everything above the Cores. Also highly mobile army - FOUR fliers, one of which is a doped up Fury (really, it's a real pain to beat these things on the map, it is easy to imagine what they will do in the hands of an even moderately good player).
Stronghold has a very strong Core line-up - maybe the strongest in general - and equally powerful Elites. The Centaurs in particular can do very ugly things. Haven't see the Cyclops in action yet.
By the way what happened with the general descriptions of the factions? Inferno was supposed to have the toughest creatures, Sanctuary should have had weak range department, etc.

I have so far not been able to use the upgraded Jaguar warrior's special ability. Minimum 3 range... wtf? I've only managed to use the normal one once, and then I had a speed boost.

Ah, forgot one thing to whine about Necromancer faction. Their theme song sounds like a loop from Harry Potter soundtrack.
Dunno if the current town screen is final or not but they don't have too many months left to tweak this game if they're aiming for september (right?) release. Also you can see like miniature version of the town in current screen so maybe it will stay this way.
One other thing that came to my mind: At some parts of the multiplayer game (against two AIs) I could see some battles that I even wasn't involved. I saw AI battling against Phoenix (who slaughtered whole AI's quite decent army) and other time I saw AI attacking neutral towns (guarded by elementals). I guess we shouldnt be able to see these in final version?
Also some interface bugs like enabling Vsync made the cursor go out of place (need to point below button / text in order to click it) and pressing Enter in some random occasions changed the display from fullscreen to windowed.
That's all so far.

1. Health is no more an integer. See these pictures:
Both wolf stacks have more than 47 health points left but your sentinels deal different damage when attacking the upper stack of wolves and the bottom one.
2. Your hero might appear in a wrong place after loading a savegame.
The hero should have appeared one tile to the right.
