1) More like "comparison-raging" <>
2) One of the main reasons I don't like Japanese cartewns and cawmics.
But that's because of another type of fan service.
3) They'd ruin their personalities utterly.
But I want them to do it, only to see how laughable it would be.
Neither companies deserve an ounce of respect for my part.
Quote: I mean, really, Zouleika's Minotaur's last word were "Mistress, set my people free" (can you hear the violins ?)
I heard "I have a dream"

I have faith that they won't screw up the heroes' personalities as long as Marzhin is on board. And in the case of somebody like Jeddite or Ciele it's difficult to go wrong when their personalities prior to H6 consisted of nothing more than a couple of sentences.
I agree, though, that quite a few of the biographies are lacking a certain something. I don't expect Oscar Wilde here, but the majority of the characters lack depth. They are quite cliched and were probably written in a hurry. There is no real insight into the heroes' lives or thoughts, just the rudimentary stuff.
What would you say if Zouleika's biography was this?
Quote: You are Zouleika, prodigal descendant and heritor to the celebrated wizard Agar, one of the most genial - yet preposterous - wizards the Silver League had ever fostered. Burdened in your youth by the near-overbearing expectations of your tutors and superiors, you inherited your golden-toothed ancestor's influential position in the Seven Cities' ruling Circle of Nine upon coming of age, but quickly sullied this prestige, earning an altogether contrary reputation for taking to vice and disruption. You were born with a receptive ear for gossip, and as your hypocritical peers' accusatory whispers of nepotism and indolence played on your mind, compounding day by day, you swiftly came to accept the simple fact that the resplendent academies of southern Thallan held no enlightenment suited to your tastes.
Desperate to free yourself of the irrevocable inferiority complex sure to follow, you resolved to carve out your own fortune on your own terms, and absconded from the Circle of Nine mere months after assuming your mantle. Alas, your compatriots in the Circle were deeply irked by this treason, and, succumbing to their own paranoia, they unleashed retribution on the Minotaurs Agar himself had created. Fearful that his direct descendant might somehow exert control over these stentorian beastmen, the wizards exacerbated the slaves' living conditions, and made an example of your own Minotaur bond-mate, who had protected you faithfully like a shadow since youth. Citing your degeneracy as his crime, they put him down in a desperate bid to save face.
Deeply affected by the loss of your bond-mate and the turmoils your petty hedonistic whims had caused - and yet wracked with indignation on hearing of the Circle's vindictive retort - you concluded that only the unconditional liberation of the enslaved beastmen could absolve you of your contritions. Although you are still young yet, and have seen relatively little of the wider world in your travels, your naiveté and determination has struck a chord with the like-minded Orcs of the Pao Islands, who have embraced your mystical aptitude. Now a potent Shaman, characterised by your paint tattoos and unkempt hair, you are likely unrecognisable to any who once might have treated your family with reverence. You realise that Agar would not take pride in your accomplishments, but your ability to sleep soundly at night is motivation enough.

Better written, but too many words.
I maintain that H4 had the best "biographies" of the 4 games.
Quote: Fiery-tempered Jadne is clanless because her father refuses to acknowledge her as his daughter. Such a harsh life has made her a strong fighter at a young age. Most people can't hold her gaze for long, for it reminds them of a certain famous Barbarian who loves to hack people apart.

I have a werid question and I didn't know where to ask it. and I guess it fits to this thread.
is Jeddite from Might and Magic: Heroes 6 is Phenrig from Dark Messiah?
I mean they look exactly the same and if you read Jeddite biography it seems clearer that they are the same person.

Pfft, at least he actually accomplished something while managing to be one of the least annoying NPCs in the game.

It's because all of the Haven heroes live in the Holy [Animal] Empire, which is basically the Ashan equivalent of Europe.
That's the main reason everyone have slavic names,
except for Gerhardt, who is evil and German.
(How do you say 'Djordje' in English? George-ee?)

If you are not from the east, hardly you can say ĐorĐe :S I guess the easiest way for foreigner to say đorđe is to write him Jorje, you spell J similary as we say Đ...
