I forgot to say I also like Family Guy. Yeah, that's about it. Excluding anime, I like Family Guy, Dexter and the Walking Dead.

Kudos that you are able to sit through Good Eats in spite of Alton Brown being a painfully unfunny failure in it.

If you think Dexter is the best show on TV you should start watching Boardwalk Empire and Breaking Bad.
I freakin like Dexter, but after the first 2 seasons (which were outstandingly good), the quality of the show is pretty much on the decline , and if the two new episodes are any indicator for the rest of the season, I'll say seasion 6 will be the worst one by far.
BrBa and Boardwalk Empire has been pretty much flawless IMHO. Excellent storyline, great characters and actors, superb directing. I really recommend them.

Hmm... I liked the Trinity season better than the Lumen season.
Way too much risk-taking and pure coincidences in the last one... I like the feeling of two masterminds planning and calculating their moves against each other much more. I guess mix-ups like that are neccessary to keep the show fresh though, I remember watching the first episodes and thinking "What the hell... no one has gotten wrapped yet?"
Last season developed Dexter as a character very much though and was still pure awesome, can't wait for more

Battlestar Galactica is to me the crown of drama. Amazing study on human behaviour with oustanding character development (except perhaps season 4)
Six feet under is the next best thing. Very good.
As for entertainment True Blood and Game of Thrones are gems.
Other very good ones are Oz, X-files, Dexter. Hmm.. Surprisingly many frankly, can't think clearly now. Lets leave it at those )

I watched the entire first season of Dexter and part of the second. It was a chore. I did not find Dexter to be a very compelling or sympathetic protagonist. Deb, his sister/wife/ex-wife/whatever, is easily one of my least favorite TV characters ever. If only she would have had her voice box cut out.
As to the rest of the cast, I found it hard to really care about any of them.
As to Six Feet Under, I found it ridiculous since I grew up in a funeral directing family. Then again, I don't like legal dramas for the same reason that they depict a relatively dull job as exciting.
