Salamandre said: Watching (again) 24, intense show. Just remove that constantly b!tching and erratically acting Kim Bauer and you get perfection...
This sounds appealing. I remember watching the first two or three seasons back in the day and they were just fine. Did you watch the whole 8 seasons though, are they all good, doesnt the 24 real time episodes thing get repetitive after a while?
(And Kim Bauer was hot.)

I did all NINE.
Repetitiveness doesn't come into play. It's just a tight sequence is all.
President Logan (Gregory Itzin) is utterly awesome in his wretchedness. In German, his voice is awesome as well, whiny and moany and somewhat constantly pissed sounding - or slimy; one of my fav bad guys. So cringesome.
We were impressed how they managed to make Jack survive each season, but always end up worse than he was.

I never watch anything dubbed, subtitles only. The actors' own voice and intonation is part of their craft and persona. Not to mention all the word play, jokes, puns, social, educational, regional aspects of the characters indicated by accent, getting lost in translation.
I mean, I understand that in the old times, sometimes people could only get their hands on a dubbed version but today it's almost always optional, even on TV. So I always go for original/subtitled.

Lith-Maethor said: Unless you're being sarcastic, fred, I have to say I am quite surprised. Loki was a mess. Sure, episode 5 was fairly decent, but the show took an awesome character and ran off with his balls.
They also did the (lesser) Enchantress dirty by making her a Loki alt. I mean, they already went with the inferior version, they could have at least done her right.
i never read the comics, so i wouldn't know. it's likely they sjw'd/woke'd it all up(knowing the platforms running currently, and who runs them), but i would have no real frame of reference to compare. i thought it was a blast, even despite the typical sjw/woke themes(the themes that most likely were introduced, but not as forced, in the comics originally, themselves).
i recommended it highly to a friend who has read the comics; did i do him a disservice?

Depends on the show and the quality of the dubbing. Some shows are a must in original English, examples: Game of Thrones, Justified, others - not so much.

It has little to do with having read the comics and more about them being quite sloppy with their worldbuilding and forgetting fundamental facts about how things are supposed to work.
The least example of that is that Loki should have been in his natural form while in the TVA. The best example is that he was written with the same kind of ineptitude that plagued Tyrion Lannister once the writers ran out of source material.
I am not even going to go into the SJW parts, though I have to say making Kang black was ...punny. Very punny indeed.
As for your friend... eh, it could go either way. I've long since lost my faith in people.

Having watched all the seasons so far, I must say Season 10 is one of the best (if not the best).

Ugh, I got sick of AHS around Season 4, the circus one, which I struggled to finish. Season 1 was interesting - it was all downhill from there.

Season 6 has a somewhat different tone. It's actually pretty clever and has really hilarious moments (for example Kathy Bates going all Misery-psycho because she isn't re-casted for season 2 of the fictitious "My Roanoke Nightmare" TV show). It's still technically "horror", but it could be called "satire" as well. Lots of "eek" moments, but in a way I find pretty funny, at least for my warped sense of humor.

Well, the first 5 episodes of the tenth season were the best AHS ever (maybe Asylum can rival it, maybe). The sixth (and final) episode of the first half, though, was a gigantenormous pile of snow. I really don't get Ryan Murphy; such great talent for build-up, for making the viewer hooked into a story and, at the same time, such a lousy job does he perform the closer he gets to the closure of anything

I try to make it a rule to never watch a lot of T,V. But I always make time to watch "Moonshiners." My wife is a tarheel born in North Carolina, so we know what's going on. I don't even bother reading the captions when they try to interpret a real deep southern accent in one of those boys. I can understand them easily enough
In the Mountains of Wash. state, moonshine is still made. I've had my share.....
Tarheel question: What do Tarheels call Bisquits & Gravy?

(Wrong answer game show buzzer) No, Tarheels do not call Biscuits & Gravy S...t on a shingle, or S.O.S. as it's generally called.
Tarheels call B & G ... ready?
They call it "Catheads and Pordeux"
(Not sure of porduex spelling... pronounced poor due.
I like the old Moonshiner shows that show "Popcorn" Sutton doing the Tarheel stomp when one of his batches turn out good and strong.
I only know 2 languages myself: English and Tarheel. Workin' on my English as best as I Can. (Smiley)
