Leonhart's whining part 97896798
Doesn't Ubisoft(?) or the Blag Ho undystand that they pretty much can't regain the trust of the fans after this b*llsnow? It's almost a month from the release and they haven't informed us about upcoming patches or even apologized for the situation. This is really saddening because I really want to like this game and I think it has great potential, but now it's just a nightmare. Who knows what's on their mind, but I hope they'll do something. I just started to regret uninstalling H3-H5 after playing this for an hour.
Anyone who let this happen is nothing else than a d*ck. Nothing else.

Wooah, easy Impatienthart!
Patches take a long time, we don't want 10 patches per game, 1.2 and max 1.3 but try to enjoy the game while you wait for perfection

From experience with H5, it should be apparent Ubisoft will eventually release patches. I don't need them to tell me they are working on it & I'm sure some of them are sorry for the state of the game...but saying it out in the open can bring disappointment too like people will expect a patch by such & such a date & then complain if it doesn't arrive on time...also in some ways, the company has to be careful in what they say to avoid any liabilities.
Would it be any help if you knew a patch will arrive in Dec & then another in Feb & last patch for the vanilla game will come out same time as second expansion in about Apr2013? [going from H5 timeline]...wouldn't really help me
They were very ambitious in the game design (many individual/different creature interactions & trying new choosable skill system different from other games plus adding some extra non-essential features) & I pretty much guessed that they couldn't do it all by this time using a completely new developer - but anouncements were made & best time to release product is before Christmas...trouble is quick-fixes/temporary band-aids to meet difficult deadlines have consequences later down the track.
The bugs list is humungous for a heroes game & still growing & I'm wondering whether the bugs thread should have been separated into categories:
- creature abilities bugs
- hero abilities bugs
- campaign bugs (I don't want to read spoilers)
- other bugs
[hindsight is 20/20]
Altho it probably doesn't help, the best thing is probably come back to the game later to avoid disappointment...many have said there is potential [but Black Hole's image is tarnished - they don't have a team of Quantomas's & probably not even one]
@DoubleDeck, 10 patches wouldn't be too bad actually

The things is that Ubisoft already promised on more than one occasion that the game will have much better post-release support than Heroes V so getting two-three patches with questionable quality per year is not an option. So they are already liable. I for one give them time to the end of November for the first real patch (the one which came with the release does not count) - after that I'll consider the above just another of their PR disasters (i.e. lies).

Agreed, altho I meant liability of company if an individual's post is not correct or offensive in some way...unfortunately promises can be anything before a game is out...bit like VIP fans being used for PR (lies) & the map editor promise etc....I hate salesmen & their promises & no announcement about patch release will be trusted plus internal situations can change.

well he has a point tho - remember heroes 5 - it was a good game imo (to me it was even better than H3 but that's just my preference) .... after two expansions and bunch of patches - original was just disaster.
i have a feeling it will be the same with H6 - after bugs are fixed, faction balance is reworked etc. and expansion or two come out i have no doubt it will be hell of a game - we will just have to pay UBI 3 game's worth of money - i bet town screens were deliberatley cut out to make room for DLC

I am just wondering if the minimum spec of Core 2 Duo E6400 2.0Ghz will be enough when the Heroes 6 2nd expansion comes out....probably not.
Heroes 5 was released 2005 and the final Heroes 5 Tribes 3.1 was released 2008....3 years and if your machine handled Heroes 5 in 2005, it could still handle 3.1....

Unless they change the graphic engine, the game should run on the same computer even after 10 xpacks.

Nah, for one that would be catastrophic rather than profitable. And we certainly would not have stood for it.
As for patching I was rather expecting 1.2 to be available by the time I returned. They are probably double-checking some things, I doubt it will take long.
And seriously primus? Do you believe we are being used to spread lies?

hehe, the emphasis is on being used by Ubisoft...
I remember some others positively gushing on what they privately knew of H6 & the positive buzz generated & positive thoughts about being listened to etc
then we find no hero choices in offline mode, no non-dynasty weapons, ubi-forums has many AI complaints threads, no friendly map editor, no LAN mode etc etc etc [even looks like no-one at Black Hole has ever played or understand a heroes game]
Are the fans really being listened to???
incidentally I read no news of next patch except as unofficial from Marzhin at ubi-forum & yourself...nothing official from Ubisoft on approx status...so how does that stack up?

I have to agree with Primus
I think Ubisoft used Heroes fans as guinea pigs to test the new "DRM" and UI to see if they should use them in their new games...

Are there are many problems with H6 -> Yes
Will they be fixed in the future -> Yes
Let's be positive, I understand the problems, but I'm thoroughly enjoying H6, remember all the problems with H5? ToE 3.1 was a great finish to H5....

Quote: Are there are many problems with H6 -> Yes
Yes, there are way TOO MANY problems for this game not to be a joke.
Quote: Will they be fixed in the future -> Yes
I'm really having some doubts here. They have VERY deep game mechanics problems which require a total overhaul of the game engine. By trying to make too much at the same time, they just snowed up their game.
Quote: Let's be positive
No ... no reason to be positive. I've already seen bugged games, but for a game that is produced by a company like Ubi$oft, it's just ... well ... NOT acceptable. The way this game has been handled from its announcement to post-release is an insult to the brand and to all the players.

Every single mayor video game in the world has bugs, errors, crashes and glitches. and eventho it might be frustrating in the end its always accepted. Aslong as we get better patches as civ. Im happy.
on another note tho this news that would please everyone that was mentioned earlier what exactly did it turn out to be?

I completely agree.
I would really love to hear a date for the patch. If its very far away I will begin to play some other game
