Actually we do but aren't allowed to put it in our guns  They are there so that we have something to guard. Also something to screw us over should we lose it. I love the army more and more, the amount of retardedlicious hilarity is almost too much to take in  No surprise given the environment but there's a lot to laugh about that's for sure. Easier to bond with people too, after all all we have is each other. Also I am fond and rather fascinated by Cyprus, there is much to learn from the place and its people. All this time in Greece I never gave it a second thought but I am increasingly interested in its history, how things are nowadays and how that compares to Greece. In some ways similar, in others so much different. I feel welcome all in all.

I almost forgot about this topic, no surprise given my fleeting visit I wasn't even posting regularly in the vw, what has this world coming to. I am feeling a little uneasy by the transition, before I came to Athens I was hardly in Cyprus and now that I am about to return I am not fully in Athens either. It's like I am subconsciously synchronizing with my next destination and it might take a few days to get used to it. It was a refreshing break though, I am rather eager to see my fellow comrades and have fun in Cyprus. There is still a long way to go but what matters for now is the present.

Lol.. I'll be coming back to Athens for another 8 days come next Tuesday. But after that no Greece for the next 2+ months.

I'm returning to Greece around end of June so.. plenty of time yet The later days are going to be silly though, we'll be more at home than at the camp

Turns out that I am more screwed than ever on my return to Cyprus. No going out until 24 April, our commander has gotten much stricter, there will be no new guys until June and.. other stuff. The next one and a half month is going to be a pain

Oh, you won't get out until April 24? You poor child. I mean, I had to spend 2-3 weeks in a row at the base during the officers' course, but you got the hard end of the bargain.
Just kidding. Everyone and his own problems. Stick with your fellow soldiers and everything will be just fine.

First prison! On my return to camp on the easter Thursday night, I was tasked with patrol duty. I figured, screw the remote outpost(which so happens to be out of camp) and didn't go there to sign. Unsurprisingly all the others had the same idea and we all got prison time heh At least it's on a period that no exits are allowed.

I'm a hoplite though my specialty deals with coordinating the missiles/rockets/whatever we shoot.
Meanwhile a friend at another camp got 4 days prison because they raised his pillow and found a watch underneath! I knew that the camp had a reputation for being strict but..
And there's apparently Turkish movement near the border. Doubt I'll end up engulfed in a full-blown war though. Some have entertained scenarios of escape in their mind heheh.
