Oh, well that is a little by the book, admittedly. However I got the impression that the guy found the watch himself, not having it put there himself and getting jailtime for that.

Let's see if I got your role right...
As a hoplite, you have a very long "spear" and your coordination and aim with it is great whenever you have to "shoot something". 
Sounds to me like you are a man among men who would fit very well in special forces, Sacred Band to be exact if you know what I mean.
And I wouldn't worry about a persian(turkish) attack. The spartan styled camplife you and your mates seem to have lived should have made you strong enough to repel any Persian(turkish) attack.
One last thing. If Greece's economy completly collapses then maybe you should consider replacing your modern weapons with ancient weapons. I promise, the risk of an attack would be halved out of respect.

With respect, it would be far harder and expensive to equipt the army with ancient weapons. Not considering retraining and finding the few people who can actually forge them, not to mention the fact that it would be totally useless

We are more into G3A3 nowadays. I can use a sword and stick but not thanks to my army training I guess given a chaotic battlefield I could grab a broomstick or a katana-looking branch and UNLEASH MY AWESOME DESTRUCTIVE FORCE UPON MY ENEMIES LIKE A HURRICANE. But that is kind of unlikely.

I managed to fall asleep while on guard. While walking. Beat that!
As I was pacing back and forth I saw a pile of wood.. duplicate itself like a soap bubble splits into two smaller ones. At other points that I momentarily fell asleep I saw shadows or shapes appear for an instant and then gone. It is freaky to suddenly see something that is not there, especially while on guard.
And actually.. it's happened before though the last time I was standing at least. MY SLEEP MASTERY HAS INCREASED!

I already have if memory serves. Though I'll certainly post something more.. formal on the day I am finally discharged from army. Then there's this G3 video that I haven't found the chance to upload, the one who has it can only send it via bluetooth and my cellphone doesn't even have that. I have admitedly been lazy or preoccupied with other things so I haven't had the chance to remedy the situation.
Meanwhile.. Today it was one of the most tiresome days I have had yet. I almost broke, the heat was too much and we were unfolding cables in a desert-like terrain under the sun, full with gun strapped on back and helmet, at midday. There was also my share of running and fetching stuff that further fed my exhaustion. God, the sleep that followed felt good.
In the short time I have been away there have been some messed up situations that made my stay here harder but things are almost beginning to look up again. Sadly my last Athens leave will be like 10-12 days and only if my part in the coming exercises is flawless. But.. I don't really care anymore. The oldies have left and things are a lot better as far as the quality of services we get goes. I also have learnt how to do things quickly and effortlessly so they don't look like much anymore.
The atmosphere smells of summer, I went to Larnaca the other day, laid down on a sunbed and I had the most glorious 15 min sleep I will ever get. Waking up with sunshine on your face, a gentle breeze blowing and a calm sea in front of you when the last day you had been standing guard feels like you just woke up in summer holidays  The guy who woke me didn't even annoy me, we had a nice coffee session afterwards Recent acquaintance that was in our camp for training but had to leave for his own camp before too long. Hard not to think of summer holidays these days and I am especially thankful that there are good beaches here.

Oh a couple months earlier. Remember, 9 months here, especialy amusing when rubbing it in on some Cyprian faces. We are like, we leave you in I cannot even begin to imagine what it means to serve 24 months and you were even worse even if as an officer.
