Quote: ok i`m getting frustrated, everytime i chase an enemy hero and we are about to clash, he simply disappears! (teleporting like 12 year old back to castle ) wow i mean literally everytime!
spent 45 mins tryin to catch that prick and someone plz tell me the logistics perk isnt bugged coz it doesnt seem to do s**t.
Also, how the enemy gathers these massive armies and his are always superior to mine is beyond my comprehension
been playin heroes since H3 and i love this game but H6 feels different (not in a bad way, i love it) however these are the things that drove me crazy, oh and the orcs faction are way too overpowered.
nothing is jaw droppin like a panther warrior who charges at the start of combat and kills 2 units lol (cleave equipped) and severly wounds a third one!
am i missing something here? how are you guys adapting to this? the fleeing enemy and the massive armies, seriously i need an answer
You think your hero is the only one with logistic?
I only ever play hard mode and I don't have any problem beating the game even once. Sure the AI will have more troops early game , learn to wear them down bit by bit.
I won't really expect a company that is mass producing games to have a good game at launch. If you want that , blizzard is like the only company that produce good games at launch.
How long has it been since major critical bugs were reported and ubi has not even fix them? Units with bugged skills that are totally unusable , bugged campaign that make you unable to proceed , and more...

True, however iam getting frustrated chasing the enemy around the map ( with logistics and movement artifacts) and whenever iam this close ti fight him (tho he has a superior army) he just simply teleports! lol its annoying.
and the only time the enemy will confront you is when your going to lose, having a massive army beoynd yours, yeah right stats wont matter then. i tried everything, might and magic, its not working for me i dunno why.

Quote: Heroes 4 was not a bad game, it was just a bad Heroes game. ... The battles are much more complex than Heroes 5/6 because of the larger field and the simulatanious attacks (I really love these different levels of counter-attack).
I am very curious how all whiners that bashed Heroes 4 back in time are taking Heroes 5 and 6 now. Oh, I know, I was reading the bug list on this forum and I was reading other forums that rate heroes 6 as boring and plain.
Actually, I disliked Heroes4 partially because of the battlefield. The two line-ups were not centrally opposing eachother; in fact, the center of the line was a bit off to the side on the other and vice-versa. Both line-ups had a small part where the enemy had no creatures directly across. Besides, the units looked butt-ugly, moved awkward at best and the Heroes were pushovers at the start, but one-man armies once they got to higher levels. Even the retaliations at a distance were retarded.
Personally I like H5 & H6 a lot. I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to get into H6, as I did have my reservations - which doesn't mean I think it's a great game; not yet, there's still too many bugs and weird issues creeping up, which they definately need to fix. The way I see it, the game wasn't ready for release when they did. I can't remember a whole lot about H5's release anymore, other than that it crashed every now and then and suffered from a memory leak.

The two main points of heroes are the incredible high fantasy concepts, and strategy. Heroes 1 didn't have unit upgrades, or classes, or even that many maps. It had cool looking designs (albeit implemented in crappy graphics), and actual strategy -- nearly pure intelligence, less skill (like real time strategy), or memorization (like chess). In those regards I think heroes 6 is the best so far. The concepts are great, I love the haven 'Crusaders as they saw themselves' theme. The necropolis aren't just general dead things, and inferno actually looks chaotic, rather than with nice straight buildings and symmetrical armor. Yes, there are balance issues and Ubisoft should have fixed more before releasing, but they have removed most elements of luck, and made the game even more decision heavy. It also has a pretty good campaign story, not as good as 3, but better than 1, 2, 4, or 5. I think people are overly nostalgic of 3 and don't remember its flaws (like the demons being aliens). Heroes 6 is a good game, worth the 60$.

Doom demons were alien too. I don't see how this is a flaw

Some of the H4 campaigns are excellent (Pete Girly ftw !), but some are also the worst piece of crap (Preserve campaign, all of TGS and WoW campaigns).

Emilia Lighthaven's campaign is the 'official' one. How's that one compared to the one in H6?

10.000 points for Emilia, 1 for Anton and his siblings.
Now, Emilia is one of the classic interpretation of fantasy (immortal mage, powerful djinn, orphaned girl turned into queen) but turned into a very pleasing story, with some terrible realism (the fate of immortal locked into deep statis? hypnotized mentor tried to kill the disciple? the queen suffer heavy casualty in last battle? YEAH! )
In fact, I think Heroes IV's stories is not bad at all! Better than Heroes V and VI. Even Elvin and Shaera's story is quite nice, eventhough in more lighter tone than the others. The story sure get worsen by the expansions, including the naming of Erutan Revol, which is Nature Lover gone backward

No they were not. It just so happened that the Gate of Hell was opened on Mars.. or umm, one of its moons, I don't remember exactly. But the Demons came from Hell not from another planet.

Emilia, Gauldoth and Tawni's story were simply excellent. Elwin's sure was a sugary one but I couldn't help but like the guy, he had a good vibe about him. It was rather amusing for a sylvan campaign, he wasn't exactly the epitome of elvishness nor were the typical themes of nature's wrath or nature protection touched.

They were the result of failed warp experiments or so, in an attempt to open a teleporter between Earth and the two Martian moons, Phobos and Deimos. Ep 1 took place on Phobos, Ep 2 on Deimos and Ep 3 in Hell . At least, if I still remember it clearly ... spent quite a lot of time on the Doom games .

Quit that. When we say aliens we mean extra-terrestrials, creatures from other planets, the Alien, the predator, the Klingons etc.
The demons in Doom, came from Hell. And they got nothing to do with aliens. The Kreegans were extra-terrestrials demon-wannabe's, a disgrace to both aliens and demons everywhere.
