There some some good plans down the way but patching always starts small.. It is unsurprising that I do not care about 1.3 to begin with, it is more about fixes than actual balancing/remaking.

And yes, the list is correct. I could have posted it myself but saw little point to hurry.

That was.. unique. Though as usual Ledroit's style seems to be overcompensating for something What do you think of the elf?

What's that cat? A sabretooth Lynx? It's weird. It's cool, but weird.
It's supposed to be a female elf right? It could have passed for a male, if it weren't for the indicative armour. I like the armour, very sculptural and intricate. The butterfly/moth-wing crest is taking the nature/camp elf schtick it a bit to far. In fact it is very, very, very camp. Even for a Ledroit.
If this made it into a Heroes 6, I'd like to see what it will look like then, since Ledroit's work never gets a 1-on-1 implementation.

To my relief. Even ubi has realized that just one of his artworks contains enough decoration for a few units/arties/heroes

Oh come on.
I would do Anything for as accuret models of Ledroits works as posible.
I must say. Would it not be for Heroes, I would not found out about this artist in my part of the world. But he became one of my favorit and lines next tu such names like Kirby or Paul Bonner.

For this particular artwork I love the shield and I like the idea of an elven lancer. Even if a panther riding elf is a clishe.

The helmat may be a little to much but I like it. It is unusual and I like it when the new series tries to find its own direction and stand out of the generic crowed.
And Also the leaf motiv on the armor is a nice touch (How hard would this be to make for LARP costume... hmmm inner thoughts)

I really like the elf, and I would like to see how it would look in H6.

Unlike other Ledroit's works, I don't find this one to be too decorated (if you take out that helmet, of course).

Yeah, that's true. I could not start to imaging the computational power required to render a heroes game that was entirely designed by him.
Don't get me wrong. He is very talented and I like his work a lot. But I'd like to quote Ben "Yathzee" Crosshaw when he was talking about Darksiders and I find very appropriate in this regard.
Quote:
It's like someone sat down, started drawing him and never BLEEP stopped...War looks like a BLEEP coral reef on legs!

Ledroit has the same thing going. Only he has to stop because he either runs out of paper, suplies or is forcing a brain-stack overflow in the onlooker if he'd continue. It's part of the pieces' charm, without question. But it is also something that puts people off.
Also have I mentioned that this elf, considering it's supposed to be a female and is a Ledroit, is very, very camp?

The Haven units look better than their in-game equivalents (at the very least I can actually believe that these are soldiers).
As for the elf... it's an elf, their whole bunch belongs to the hell pits. I'm yet to see a non-cliche outside The Witcher games and books (and even there they are cliche but manage to compensate with other qualities).

That's actualy wrong. The Artwork topic is only for sharing the art and NOT for discussing it. This is the general discussion topic.

Hello everybody; this is a message to let you know that I chose to leave the VIP forum yesterday on poor terms and will therefore not be a HC representative to Ubisoft any more.

As soon as I was invited into the VIP forum I privately gave myself two fundamental goals to achieve: 1) I would strive to properly represent the fanbase, with a sense of integrity and 2) I would aim to ensure that this game turns out better than Heroes III when production on it reaches its end. Well, it's no secret to anybody that the second goal is now little more than a crazy pipe dream, and I can't in good conscience stick around any longer without botching the first one too (if I haven't already).

I have been deeply disappointed with Heroes VI and the avoidable mistakes it made for a long while now, but although the release was a miserable one which included little to none of our input, I always held out a level of hope that the product could get much better and show its true potential with expansions - that it could even be fully revamped with the right actions. Every single aspect of information I have received during the post-release period has gradually crushed this hope, to the point that I'm now certain that the game will never reach the quality standards and activity levels it (easily) could have, and should have. It is my opinion that the blame for this crisis lies chiefly with Ubisoft's mismanagement, leading me to this bitter point. But it goes beyond releasing one bad game; though some people in Ubisoft do have good intentions, I feel the company's current practices surrounding the Might and Magic franchise in general simply aren't tenable.

I wish I could be (much) more specific about what I have observed as being these irrevocable problems with the handling of my favourite games, but I'm still under an NDA, so I can only be vague here. Several people politely asked me if I was really serious about what I said in February, but I, rather ignorantly, didn't/couldn't comment back then because the fate of the game was not sealed at that point. Well, I was indeed serious, and I'm personally not enthusiastic about the future of Heroes nor the broader Might and Magic franchise. Some fans are speaking about moving on to Heroes VII, but to me, Heroes VI was already the big second chance for Ubisoft, and this is twice now that the series has gone through the same rigmarole - the thought of H7 and another revolution of the vicious circle is just painful.

The very best of luck to anybody who might end up taking over from me; I hope you can get through to them and succeed where I failed. To the fans and customers disappointed with H6, I'm deeply sorry for the part I foolishly played in promoting and recommending this unhappy game. I will try my very best to make it up to you via other means, but I'm considering this particular chapter all but closed.

What is one to say at this.
I'm sorry that things went the way they went. Even though I played no part in this.
I am certain that you've had all the best intentions. And that you did what you could.
I feel for you, even if I doubt that I understand the gravity of the situation.

Good for you for having standards. There are quite a few that I could name, but won't that stay on in the VIP role simply because they want to feel important and find out info first. They'll bash Ubi behind their backs, but kiss their asses to their face just so they can stay in their good graces.

Maybe if there were more like you who would just stand up and tell Ubi to kiss off, maybe they'd actually take notice and make an effort to put out a quality product.

I understand your decision, since the presentation back in Gamescon'10 we could see very stupid decisions (resource reduction, for instance), the beta was very bad and the game release was horrible. It must been a hard and long way to end like this

But the main problem is the lack of comunication from ubisoft. Each day of silence gives even more credit to this and that means even a worst future for Heroes VI. (That explains the lack & delay of patchs and the content of the already delayed patch 1.3)

And the future is not good: Ubisoft plans to make all games dependant of internet connexion, and that means that if Might & Magic : Raiders and Might & Magic : Duel of Champions are finished (here I assume that they register the names because they are working on them, whatever they are), they won't have a good sale with that stupid system, nor a good response from the community.

It's sad, because if Heroes VI wants to be a good addition to the series, it needs so much that a single expansion can't add it, and I'm not sure if Ubi will keep the proyect if the first expansion it's a fail on money terms.

And about patch 1.3 : it was delayed to this week, now what? The week is ending...

A vary sad day indeed

But understandable. I have similar experienc but in a diferent feild of the game (Localization).

Eventouhg I am a general fan of the franchise, knowing it has some good and some bad games. Ubi Faild in creating a good Heroes. But other entries i the franchise are not that bad.

I think everybody here knows one or two things that woudl make the game better, even if some of us do not agree with the other.

Your act is a sign for me Capheus, a bad sighn that not many things in heroes VI will get better in  the expansion.

I would for one love to have the oportunity like you did, and try to contrybute to the game, but with my stubbern temper, I would most likly not last there that long to make a lasting mark.
