Just realized I don't really like any of the individual Dungeon creatures (), but if I'd have to pick I'd go with the shadow witches.

My personal favorites are the lizards, specifically the Grim raiders. Their abilities are rather strong if you can exploit them, despite their hero being the strongest individual death machine in the game.
A close second is the stalker, as their invisibility ability makes many an impossible creeping easy.

I say Hydra, they are the key to letting dungeon survive against new players
They have massive retaliation if placed right.
They have GIGANTIC HEAPS of health and defence.
They are like treant only for dungeon

Let's run it down:
Scouts: Excellent creeping unit. Even with nerfed invisibility a handfull of stalkers are enough to creep your way through most enemies. Assassins are pretty nifty as well to poison enemies and then attack them in melee with their great attack once they've approached you (soaking up the retaliation which would otherwise go to your precious Blood Maidens)
I enjoy using them, perhaps my single most favorite Lvl 1 in H5
Blood Maidens: Excellent damage output... however, they die extremely rapidly, and deploying them against Caster/Shooters is just asking for them to be killed, even in creeping stages. In big battles, they are one of the first stacks to be killed, only Cerberi tend to die faster. For those reasons, I don't enjoy them much.
Minotaurs: Suck. That's all you need to know. Pathetic defence. Pathetic mobility. Awful tanks because they tend to die after one, two retaliations at best. High HP ensures the stack of minotaurs is likely to Survive damaging spells, increasing the longevity of the Warlock's army.
Lizard Riders: Not a big fan, mostly due to the abundance of Dark-Elven units in Dungeon. They are pretty good creeping units with good offensive capabilities. Just a pity they'll die very soon in combat, and against Inferno are likely to be killed before they even act! Lizard bite is fairly nifty though and has some cool synergy with Minotaur Guards and/or Blood Furies.
Hydra: The Hydra's only real purpose lies in staying alive while the Warlock fries the enemy units. Luckily, Hydras do an amazing job at this, and the massive nine-headed attack of the upgrades can be devastating. Teleport Assault + Hydras is, despite being fairly mediocre, one of my favorite combos in H5 and something that could make Hydras fairly usefull, as Tanks that block enemy shooters. I like them all around.
Shadow Matriarchs/Mistresses: Great Spellcasters (two free Slows are always welcome), decent damage. Matriarchs are passable shooters (meaning they can stay back, out of the line of fire), and Mistresses are great overal utility units. I like them, though I'd like them much better if they weren't just one of many Dark-Elven units.
Black Dragons: Amazing units all round, but the abundance of Dragons in H5, as well as the Blackies being siginificantly weaker than their previous counterparts in H2/3/4, left me quite underwhelmed by them. Spell Immunity is good enough (since Dungeon doesn't have too many options for buffing anyway), but the Warlock's special ability is actually counterproductive to it, meaning a Warlock's Lucky Armaggeddon will damage a Black Dragon about as much as an Iron Golem.
So I guess that means I'm voting for Scouts

Witches are actually useful units that'll last fairly long in combat, and they look pretty cool as well. The Three votes for them are fully warranted.

the only reason why they last long is because you are busy killing the dragons / lizards / maidens first.

Great, now the tie is 3-way! Someone vote for the hydra, lizards or witches please! Not the BMs or the Minotaurs... Or the Dragons...
Actually that would be kind of funny, since the scout would be the only creature not in the tie...
Welllll.... Now it's a four way tie...
So we have a pretty close race going on... Shall we agree that Dungeon was a good line up?
