Evidence of existence you mean. According to Skyrim the blood on your blade has reletively the same effect. Which I daresay what the dude with two kids is going to accomplish. (if he has any sense)

This is awesome!!
I think it's a fake though. I can't really see how he could think sex with his wife was necessary at all. Had he just asked his friend to be a donor, then it made more sense. I mean fertility clinics isn't a new invention. The same goes for the wife.
Still, the implications of events in my head is just so very amusing right now. Convincing his wife to have sex with his neighbour, the neighbours wife accepting his husband is a prostitute, somehow these people are incredibly awesome if the story is true, because they don't act like they own eachother at least.
Anyway, it sounds a lot like typical bad excuses used in a pornographic movie.
About the whole "not my kids" thing, in my opinion, you don't love someone because of chance, you love someone because you decide so. It therefore doesn't really matter if the PERSON you decide you love is a product of your sperm or someone elses sperm. To take the reverse situation, if I had found out I was adopted my world wouldn't change.

The flaw is of course, that there are no serious sources for this article...
Not that it wouldn't be extremely funny if it was indeed true.

This story has first been published in a 1978 issue of Jet Magazine, you can see it Here on page 26 of the issue.
It is true, but it's way old.

Oh this is such a stupid nonsense story. It like the joke, where the guy hires a detective to follow his wife. The detective tells the husband, "I followed your wife to the bar, where she met *****, they then went to a hotel, I could see them from the window. The man undressed your wife and your wife undressed the man and they laid on the bed .... and then they turned off the light". To which the husband replied "oh the uncertainty!!".

As Nocturnal said, its from 1978, but that doesnt really matter, the article is just a funny story which should get you to discuss/voice your opinions on :
1. Infidelity
2. Sperm donations
And the question - What would you do had you realized that your kids aren't yours ?

It doesn't ?
Will you not love more something you have created yourself than something someone else has created ? Regardless of that being a child, a sculpture, a painting, a building ??

Okay, despite Smithey's very silly start to this thread , lets get it started:-
1. Infidelity. I would never be able to forgive a partner who had been unfaithful. It would mean the end of the relationship. Period.
2. Sperm Donors. This one I'm not so sure of. Personally I believe it is better for parents to bring up a child, rather than a lone parent. But married couples can have one or the other who is sterile, so I guess there is a place for this.
3. And as for this one. I've seen a few of those daytime tv programmes, where people with very little brain and too much spare time on their hands make really bad decisions. Often they have to have DNA tests to prove who is the father. Its truly upsetting when a guy has bonded with a child only to find out it isn't his (she was lying/using him). Just horrible.
Succinct answers, as I have a headache

No. I also don't love objects. I can be proud of myself due to a conclusion in connection to an object. Like I was proud of a heroes 3 map I used 0.5 years to make, when I was 11-12. Like I am proud that I've actually managed to make some programs. More proud that when they work as intended and even more proud when they give the result I want. I don't love any of this and I'm not proud of these things, I'm proud of myself, because I manage to achieve something I want to.
I would never love or be proud of my hopefully future child(ren) because of a shared genetics or eventual similarities I find with myself at any given age. No, I'd simply always love someone this close to me. That is something I'm pretty convinced about, no matter what the circumstances of which we got so close may happen to be. Likewise I'd always be proud of him/her doing whatever he/she intends to do and I'd always be as supportive as I'd be able to. At least I hope so, I of course can't know for sure, as I've never been in such a situation.
Edit: Wait, was anyone of us actually even born in 1978?
Edit edit: Was there ever a 1978??

What if you were married with kids, with no career because you gave up on it to raise the kids ?

Ignoring your love towards babies, as a woman, would you rather adopt or do the sperm donor thing ?

What is pride if not love of a sort, is it not correct to simply call it "proud of actually making a baby" as opposed to being cheated of that achievement by someone else hence being proud of something which wasn't yours to be proud of from the start ?

If genetics mean so little to you, had you discovered that some girl you've slept with 5 years ago had a child hence making you a father, would you not have some feelings towards the kid even though you didn't know him ? Would you not want to get to know him ?

Regardless, I would leave. The marriage would be over. If I cannot trust my husband, who the hell am I supposed to trust?? No I'm afraid infidelity, as far as I am concerned, has now shattered the trust between a couple as well as your partner showing disrespect to you, pretty much means your partner no longer cares enough about you. So no, regardless of my living conditions, the marriage would be over, I would move out and get a job (in reality I would be working anyway).

Well I would be quite okay not having children. I have no desire for them anyway. So luckily I won't have to make that decision. However, I have know some women so desperate to have children that they have done some rather risky things. Adoption would be a nice idea. Caring for a child who is already in the world, rather than creating a new life would be better. But some people will be refused adoption. And then they might attempt the sperm donor thingy. Although I think most women under those circumstances can just pick up a guy in bar
But like egg donors, sperm donor's can be used for infertile couples where the woman might have a husband with a low/zero sperm count, or that both have fertility issues, yet she may be able to carry a fertilised egg. This may have been the original reason for it anyway.

@Smithey
Pride is often a feeling. I would never degrade love to a mere feeling.
I don't know if I would be proud of fathering a child. I have never been in that situation. I probably would be proud, but I personally regard it as a minor thing. The subsequent matters are of much higher priority, as I see it.
To me it's not about fathering a child, but raising a child. Here "raising" is not intended as a substitute of "controlling".
I don't know how I'd react if it turns out I have a 5 your old son/daughter.

Pride can be stronger than love, in certain cultures it is....
I am well aware of the fact that you dont know how it feels, it's a hypothetical question which is based on you knowing yourself and judging upon it how you would act (at least how you would want to act) in a specific situation....
I understand what you're saying it's just that I believe we as humans have certain feelings (love, pride, whatever) towards our creations, creating something with love leaves you attached to it (in a certain manner), to you it's I've done it, Im proud of it, now I can toss it away as I feel nothing towards it ? (just trying to understand, not claiming you should feel any other way or something)
