After downloading it, unrar the package until you find an exe file, ie TOP.exe. This is the mod actually (because map4heroes owner makes its own package for advertising therefore he messes things), now double click on exe and specify your game path (C:Heroes 3 or whatever).
The mod will go in MODS folder, nothint should go in data folder. Then from mod manager you can activate any mod you like and play.

I as sorry if the question is already asked. There is a bug in Era II.
WoG 3.58F + Era II 2.461 HD mod
Started a company "Armageddon Blade" without wogification. Anyway it plays with new rules.
The BUG is:
when my hero (5th level, Magic=5) call Air Elementals they appears 1800 creatures .
Same for Water Elemental.
The game is unplayable because of this as enemy often use this magic.

I can't fix Era. I have Homm 3 Complete edition from Mastertronic and I downloaded the game to desktop. Whenever I download Era to the folder properly I open the start menu click on "In The Wake Of Gods." Then I get a weird error message like this:
Assert violation in file
"D:SoftProgrammingDelphiSourceSRCUnits_OLDER_EraButtons.pas" on line 194.
Error at Address: $523C6B3
How do I fix this?

If you have win 7 or later, install the game in C:, then Era over it. Don't install the game neither on desktop, neither in the folder proposed by default, which was for win 95/XP program files.

I tried downloading it in C:. Do you think it could be because of my AntiVirus programs? It still didn't work.

Well, if you have a free antivirus program, which most often is crap, then it may prevent you from downloading era, which comes as exe file.
Now given that era has been downloaded thousands of times and no one reported any problems, I suggest you stop your antivirus the time era is being installed.
And of course, no quality antivirus would ever prevent you installing era.

This bug comes when you use both original ReMagic, and Knightmare Heroes. Please use ReMagic Lite from the site you get Knightmare Heroes, instead of standard ReMagic.

There are many reports in maps4heroes about era "bugs" where town portal becomes level 5 and map unplayable. People should learn, when installing mods, to consult the read me.txt first. The RTFM syndrom.
Re magic mod changes spells level and will screw often the custom maps.

maybe I should provide better manuals?
anyway I plan to release standalone (all my mods in one package) and lightweight (without those "backup" zips and folders) modpack and call it Knightmare Kingdoms. But it seems it need some balance and fixing on the part-mods before. Also I want some more features and I was out of h3.5 modding for a bit of time, so it perhaps won't be soon

Is not your fault. Mods change the vanilla game, thats all. People should get that, instead of complaining after use.

Yes if you don't install that version of HoMM HD because ERA crashes with it. HoMM HD v3.807 works fine with ERA 2.46.

Hi everyone,
I want to update the henchman script.
I want the henchman to gain experience based on the experience from a battle, right now it only earns a fixed 6 to 10 points bonus regardless if you fight 1 imp or 10000 imps, which doesn't make sense.
I searched the ERM help, I can't find anything related to "get experienced earned from battle".
So I want to
1- Get the experience earned from a battle, store it in a variable
2- Apply a formula to it and convert it to bonus to the henchman
It should be easy right? Anyone can help?

No, is not easy, the entire script pattern should be redone.

Why is it hard?
I looked at the henchman script and I already modified it, tested it and it worked. All I need is the command to "get experience gained from battle" for a hero? Something like !!HE??
Like suppose I fight a battle. I gain 1000 experience points.
I just want to get that 1000 experience points and store it in a variable. 2 lines of code?
Something like:
!!HE??y1 -- get exp from a battle
!!VRw117&y6>-1:+6 T4; ---That's the line that gives 6 to 10 points per battle. Modify this line to put y1 into it

Well, is difficult because from those 6 exp points you get from battle (then stored in w vars), calculations occur when you must set its health, attack, damage and so -henchman does not exist, he is created at battle start using those values. If you change this low value to match the millions of experience points occurring later in bigger battle, your henchman will overflow, become some kind of invincible super monster. So all must be redone to make this working correctly.
I can't say exactly how to do, because Bersy (the author) didn't put any comment (I hate when they do that) in his script so it would take me probably hours to figure how the whole structure is working, and I don't have them.
For now you can try to add 1000 at each battle and see how it goes. it will level faster I think.

Thanks for the answer.
My henchman won't overflow. I will give "experience gained / 1000", it will work on the map I'm making where heroes don't get past level 40, I already checked the xp tables.
All I need is the receiver to "get experience from battle". Does anyone know this command line? Searched the erm help for it and it's not mentioned anywhere.
