never install Era over wog 3.58, it has it inside. Also wog mod should be at the BOTTOM of your enabled mods. Other than that, no idea why your thing crashes

yes, first Bersy thought this will work, but then a lot of people reported errors. Don't use it over wog 3.58, not need.

Well, the first post says can be installed over SoD/complete too, so I don't see why people don't just install it on the game and prefer going to external links then install wog. The first post assumed SOME people have already wog installed, so it was for comfort.

a lot of people come to ERA from WOG. So they would already have WOG ready when they install ERA. And it might be easier to download WOG with the original client than just the original client.
Anyways, I installed Complete from Gog right now and the funny thing is that I didn't install anything yet over it, I tried to launch complete instead. What do you think I got? I got the exact same issue. Even feels the same... I think the problem is outside of the game. I even restarted my PC. Didn't help. Very weird. I think it might be connected to the libraries and SDKs I've been installing recently.
Tried to install ERA over it and no wonder - same issue occurs. The basic H3 engine can't start...
Hell this happened before, but I don't remember what caused it. It was something simple and quite obvious. I guess I'll give up for now...

Some older versions of windows needed an option for retro-compatibility but in my recently installed Windows 10 it works without it, so I can't simulate the problem.

Oh, for sure, I played ERA for many hours on this instance of win10. I think it can't find a library it relies on. I recently installed win10 sdk, which might've updated some system libs on which the game relies. It's just when the game crash it doesn't specify the reason of the crash. When I debug it, it gives me the memory address it can't read or write, which is not super informative

patcher_x86.dll
I have 2 versions of patcher_x86.dll.
One is of smaller size and modified in 2012.
The other is of larger size and modified in 2017.
Should I just use the larger one?

could anybody help me with fixing amethyst?
I've done most of fixing of crexpo mechanics for creatures with ID >= 256, but there is some unpatched code yet. the last unsolved bug is that crexpo data of such creature goes broken after battle (it works ok for outside battle and after entering the battle, but after winning the battle with such creature alive the info goes broken)

Era II + WOG problem
Heloo! I'm a newbie in modding Homm3, but i've been modding several old games like this for a while, such as Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, Dragon Age Origins, and lastly, Skyrim.
So, i have this problem... I have the GoG version of Homm3 Complete, and after download Era + Wog from your link in this topic, i did a fresh GoG reinstall, and installed this mod, and another mod called "Tavern Invitation" so i could pick my hero from the tavern.
I started a new game, and began the Castle Campaing in RoE, in the 1st map, where Chris appears, there are several pikemen and archers around him, that's he's supose to pick up and join him.
That's doesn't work. I am forced to attack the stash of creatures.
I want some tips in how to fix it, please...
I also have the terrain in Battles, the Cenario, completely black. The only things visible is the creatures, the obstacules, the menus, the grid and the cursor. The cenario behind is simply black, wich is annoying. I tried lowers resolutions, but dont work. I have a Medium Specs CPU, wich is suficcient to play Skyrim, Elder Scrolls Online, Civilization V, Assassins Creed III, Batman Arkhan Asylum and City, without any issues, i guess its not my pc. (2009~2012 games)
I google it, but only find one post, the #1 post in this very long topic, from 2012, from a guy that is having this same issue, and the answer after, were not clear, on what to do. So i registered amd here i am, asking nicely.
I did things, like, check plugin order in the mod organizer, disable one on one mods, press f12 and test, reinstall evertying several times, installed an older version of Wog called "Revised Wog", (that sucks by the way), instal HoD, uninstall HoD...
Another thing that i dont get it yet, is that Commander and Henchmen Thing, the Staff of Warlord. Thats a little unecessary, dont you think guys? how i disable it?
I guess its the quick dialog windows that interfere with the popup screen to pick the creatures. How i disable quick dialogue windows completely?
I simply don't know what to do for Crhis Sake Pick Up the Archers and Pikeman!

Era does not work with the regular campaigns, so answer will be fast here -a plugin was needed for that but author got married so he is now a zombie. Then you can play sod/random/custom maps in Era, but better use Safe SoD mod so things don't go changed too much. If you want to play random maps full wogified then don't use Safe SoD. For battlefields, download Morn Battlefields from wakeofgods.org/mods then keep it activated. However, for wogified maps, always use WoG revised mod (it doesn't suck) just above WoG mod in enabled mods. That way you will limit crashes a lot.

Problem is black battlefield 
I play in windows 10
How can i fix it ?
2: i change script to learn all 28 secondary skills
How can i remove 8 skills limited in witchhut or university ?

1. You would be better served with Era.
2. You don't need to do anything else. Even the new skills in the Wizard's Tower and Battle Academy, or whatever their names are, only cost 3000. The original scripts were made by pros, they can be unbalanced but surely were well done.

nope - in ERA, in WoG mod there is a plugin for 28 SS. but you need to disable the script which gives you 9th and 10th skill because they are incompatible. You can always install "secondary skils scrolling" mod for showing hidden skills but itss UI only.

I play using the random map generators all the time, but sometimes WoG gives me a level 5, sometimes 10, sometimes even 20 hero at start. Obviously it's not good since I want to develop the hero myself and the hero might have skills I don't want. How do I fix this?

There are tons of wogifying option, make sure you check and uncheck the ones you want. Then save under "my options.dat", this way you wont have surprises next time. There is an option "heroes start at 5th level", uncheck it.
