Sorry, but don't get me wrong i use Bitdefender total security (payed version), when i start to install the antivirus kicks in stop the installation and automatically delete the era 2.8.8.exe file, only after i see that i upload the file to virus total to scan it with other antivirus.
i post here to make sure i have the same file as you and this are false positive detection.

MAdbUSU, as far as I see, antiviruses report HackTool and AutoIt.
AutoIt is freeware utility with official site. Malware writers use it to automate tasks, normal users use it too.
HackTool is anything changing other executables. Era includes Tools directory with many low-level utilities for patching.
The third source of warning is that many antiviruses do not like any programs compiled in official Virtual Pascal like angel.dll. Em, for the next version I removed and rewritten one such module, so they will be happier a bit.

there is usage of amethyst in Knightmare Kingdoms.

I tried amethyst but still the "new" creatures are not seen on the map, I will be doing something wrong?,
I would also like to find out how to add other heroes

you have to place or replace creatures on the map if you wish it this way. They are only added to list of creatures, but are not referenced until some script/mod references them.
HoTA team can add heroes so it is possible, but AFAIK there are no "new heroes" plugin for era. You may utilize campaign heroes (with changed face and specialty).

My Verison of Era II is 2.46
now there is version 2.8.8?
do I just install the new one on top of my old one? or do I have to uninstall my prev. Era II first?
Edit: I guess imma install it on top of the old one anyway. nothing can go too wrong.
Edit: so I have downloaded and installed the EraIILatest.exe on top of my current already installed Era II. Nothing seem to have gone wrong or anything. though I wonder if I am able to check if it was actually updated.

So I installed HD mod. I can play SoD with HD+, but if I run H3Era, I can select HD but I cant select select HD+
How do I solve that?

but why does it say on that website its compatable with Era 2.46? I guess becuz he can still HD even without HD+ meh

You can try "Hero Advanced Level Up" I think it offers a choice from all skills? Find it in Sals sig.

In Mod Manager Righclick your Mod and select "Create self extracting package"
