And that's why UK is placed second on alltime winning list (5 wins) behind ireland (7 wins)?
And what political reasons did we have to let Azerbaidjan win last year? And Germany the year before?
Just accept the UK didn't have good entries the last 10 years..

I know a lot of people that have said that the UKs entries the last few years have been alright and could have and most definitely should have been at least in the top 10.
If politics is not the case, why did one of the best English Commentators for the Eurovision quit stating that there is simply too much politics involved with the Eurovision and it's not fair. He was never biased and it doesn't involve just the UK either.
Or I must be making that up, right Angelito? lol
Also, when did the UK win most of the time? 60s to 80s and it last won in 1997 when politics would not have been a problem. So your point is irrelevent.

Quote: Norway - Blah. Electropop doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. If I decide to be hipster I could say this is too mainstream to me (this while I'm actually a mainstreamhound lol <3). Anyway, I don't like, nor don't care about this song... but it's not bad either.
I could not agree more. I cannot believe that our country decided to send that instead of this!

I heard Euphoria on TV today and commented that it sounded like an Eurovision song.
Only to notice now that it actually is one.

Not just that. It is likely going to win, in a way similar to Alexander Rybak. It's guaranteed to sweep all Scandinavian and Baltic 12s, barring perhaps Iceland's or Norway's. It is also guaranteed the 12s from Germany and France.
This year's competition is actually REALLY good, as I said before. I think it's a pity Euphoria has to partake THIS year, where it'll likely sweep the contest, making for a very predictable winner. I wish she and Saade swapped years. :-/

I think lots of countries will vote for the Serbian song. >.>
But it will be a fair fight.
Personally, I think the song Euphoria is mediocore but the performance is so dramatic and enchanting.

Iceland's was my favorite (other than Russia). I don't think they'll win though. A lot of people aren't into that kind of style of music.

Iceland could have won without Sweden being there. Unfortunately though, both countries draw from the same pool of points (Scandinavia, or just Northern Europe in general), and it is CLEAR Sweden will get most, if not ALL 12s from that group. I can see Iceland getting most 10s though (over Norway, which is really overrated imo), so I wouldn't count them out just yet.
In all likelyhood, the TOP 15 for this year is, in projected (but not fixed) order:
1. Sweden
2. Greece
3. Russia
4. Cyprus
5. Italy
6. France
7. Germany
8. Iceland
9. Norway
10. Denmark
11. Romania
12. Belarus
13. Ukraine
14. Azerbaijan
15. Ireland
The order isn't that fixed, it is more of a "guesstimation". But I'll be surprised if less than 12 of those 15 countries make the actual top 15 in May.
I'm calling a landslide Sweden win, but honestly, I like EVERY country in the projected top 15 except Ireland, Belarus and Germany, so no matter what, we're in for a good edition, unlike last year's cesspool of musical manure.

I think Aphrodisiac sucks.
The greek song just has zero emotions. It doesn't do anything to me. It's like listening to the buzz my laptop makes.

lol. Aphrodisiac is indisputably the BEST Greek entry since Helena Paparizou. Eleftheria is a gorgus and highly charismatic woman to boot. There's no way it won't be amazing to see, and there's no way it won't place in the top 4.

I'm not attracted to women so unfortunaly, female looks don't do anything to me.
I also think Cyprus entry sucks. There literally a MILLION songs like that one and Aphrodisiac. It's just way to americanized.
(Helena Paparizou had an amazing entry though)
honestly my favorite this year is probably France
I also like the romanian and austrian song (oh god, what would Hitler think about that one xD)
the swedish song is ok
edit: I love Denmark even though its a clone of another song xD
I love her clothes.

Austria is probably my LEAST favourite.
I love Romania's as well. So sunny and tropical ^__^
Denmark is great. <3 France is great. <3
As I said, there are a LOT of great songs. My most random favourites are Netherlands (Joan Franka tardgoddess <3) and Finland (so dreamy <3), but neither of these will qualify for the funale
Georgia, Austria and Ireland are the only really BAD songs, notwhithstanding Montenegro, which even isn't a song imo. I don't care about nearly every Slavic ballad, Portugal and some other insignificant entries that won't qualify anyway. Germany and Belarus are painfully overrated. -__-

Hungary has a great radio song.
Serbia also has a pretty cool song, but its boring and the amazing Moltiva was much more powerful.

Eurovision 2011 d'uh.
And I disagree with past editions being that bad. I personally really liked 2010, 2005 is probably my favourite edition of all time and I appreciate 2008 (so many lol entries <3 - terrible winner though), 2007 (Slavic ДOMIИATIOИ <3) and 2006 (Nordic DÖMINÅTIØN <3) for what they are.
The point of Eurovision however isn't "a contest for the best songs" though, William. Most people watch it because it is Over The Top, hilarious and a complete and utter trashy trainwreck from start to finish. Joke songs imo are an important part to Eurovision, as long as they are done correctly and are -you know- funny.

I know what you were talking about but it's been s**t for the past few years. Eurovision never used to have as many bad, jokey songs as it does now. It's a shadow of the fine competition it once used to be and that's a real shame. I think a lot of people like you forget what it really should be. Shame...
