Cerberi wait
Familiars wait
Pit Lords wait
Magogs throw a fireball in the middle hitting Ghosts, and wraights (full damage), and skellies (half damage) doing:
72 * 3 * 0.85 = 184 damage to wraights, killing 10
72 * 3 * 0.75(A/D) * 0.85 = 138 damage to ghosts
72 * 3 * 1.15 * 0.5 * 0.85 = 105 damage to skellies, killing 17.
Damn necro has expert armorer.
More than 400 damage, not bad for such a lousy unit
remainig necro troops:
7 ghosts (health 62)
53 wraights (health 14)
533 skellies (health 3).
Horned demons wait.
liches next.
then wraights, zombies, vamps, knights, demons, ghosts, lords, fams, cerb, ES, devils.

Not to forget. Normally, we would never have this damage. I haven't yet been able to strike freely even once with the Magogs in my test-battles. And without melee-penalty on two units? It's more or less a gift from heaven!!!!
My guess is however that Inferno will need every extra hitpoints removed from Necro units.

Wow! So the battle has finally begun!
Fantastic moves SOS , can I say the battle is over?
Too bad skellies resisted slow, but at least the rest are affected. So now the skellies would have to charge into the battle field alone, or should the Necro. stay put and shoot the Inferno right back to hell?

I think I know what you have on mind.

so far so good for us, but the battle is far from over. We know necro has necromancy, air, resistance, intelligence, armorer, wisdom. This leaves 2 more skills - I guess one of them is another magic school and we dont know what spells they have so we have to be carefull. Good news is they dont know what we have either

I think it is almost for sure that Necro. has earth magic; if not it would be unfair for Necro. having all those animate dead, death ripples, etc... I would guess Necro. has Archery or perhaps Offense as well.

good let the skelies come they will be dead
Hopefully spells wont go back & forth with haste & slow but if it does it must be done.
Remember to do the wait & hit with the devils & if spells do change maybe bless for the devils might work just an advice.

finally see our spells
Well, thanks to Thunder for sending me the necro spells, was not wanting to make any moves till I saw them. Noq, I know what I want to do, but I'll ask some other necro players if any come on soon before I start proceeding in that direction.
Not sure if Aculias knows what spells Inferno has, probably not, but if they have water magic and bless; would kinda suck for Necro in this situation- luckily only 4 of their units can strike anything, and I am betting on their waiting for better postion before doing that. 4 units even blessed prob wouldn't cripple Necro enough compared to the resulting HP loss for Inferno after such a strike. Wish I could warn against what I think they might try next, but if they aren't going to do it I don't want to give them the idea.

If any necro player wants to shoot with liches, I'm fine with it... I'm just not sure who the best shot would be. Magogs? ADs?

well
I did have some strategy discussion with other necro players last week, but nothing specific, this is first time I logged in since then and there are no messages so...
I'll let Liches shoot Cerbei- for... grr- I'll need to bring in tables next week, not sure what damages are when I'm at work.
Other Necro... leave an IM again, just so we're on the same page!

Dear Necro. players,
Can I consider this as a thoroughly discussed, unanimously agreed and comfirmed move from your side? If so, please fill in the damage and proceed with following moves.

Quote: INFERNO
Spell Points: 270
Units
7 Arch Devils (Att 33, Def 35)
14 Efreet Sultans (Att 23, Def 21)
21 Pit Lords (Att 20, Def 20)
60 Horned Demons (Att 17, Def 17)
57 Cerberi (Att 17, Def 15)
72 Magogs (Att 14, Def 11)
167 Familiars (Att 11, Def 11)
The levels of horned demons are very low. When I have inferno I have much more than that by the end of month one. At least turn the familiars into Horned Demons.
167 familiars * 4 hp = 668 hp / 35 hp = 19 horned demons. I'd rather have 19 more demons than 167 familiars.
If you compare the attack of 167 familiars:
167 - 334 damage base attack of 11.
The average defense of the opponents creatures is 17.
with -6 a/d it gets - 14% base damage.
The familiars will deal on average 144 - 287 damage each attack with full strength, which won't last long, because they have 4 hp.
Or the extra 19 horned demons have a base damage of:
133 - 171 damage
They have an attack of 17 so they will deal the same amount of damage.
Although the horned demons deal much less damage on average, you can worry much less about retaliations, AND they have an extra 92 HP.
(19 demons * 19 = 760; 760 - 668 = 92)
For defensive purposes. 14 Dread Knights attack Familiars:
base damage = 210 - 420
a/d = +15 (+75% base damage)
Dread Knights deal 368 - 735 (552) damage killing 138 familiars.
29 Familiars retaliate:
base damage = 29 - 58 damage
a/d = -14 (-32% base damage)
Familiars deal 20 - 39 (30) damage dealing 30 damage to the first Dread Knight.
OR
14 Dread Knights attack 79 Horned Demons.
base damage = 210 - 420
a/d = +11 (+55% base damage)
Dread Knights deal 326 - 651 (488) damage killing 12 horned demons dealing 8 damage to the 13th. 22 health left. 67 Horned Demons retaliate.
base damage = 469 - 603
a/d = -8 (-18% base damage)
Horned Demons deal 385 - 494 (439) killing 3 Dread Knights dealing 79 damage to the 4th.
If the Dread Knights attacked the Horned demons without the extra 19:
48 demons retaliate:
base damage = 384
a/d = -8
Demons deal 314 damage, so the difference between damages is 125 (439 - 314 = 125) damage, so the familiars as horned demons dealt 125 damage to the knights instead of 30 damage killing nothing.

Quote: 1+1=2 right? Well redsox however lovely that post might have been you just proved what we already knew and didnt care about. Do you think ANYONE is going to be disputing horny demons are better than familars?
Well not right now. But on the other hand. Had you kept those familiars, you could sacrifice them to resurrect your troops.
(Power + Destroyed Troop's Creature Base Health) * X # of Creatures Sacrificed
(14 + 4) * 167 = 3006 HP
That could completely replenish any stack that you had, then you could get 19 extra demons on the same turn. During that time you can get lots of extra spell points from the channel ability of the familiars. It's really a choice.
I would still go with the familiars, because I can always use my magogs for sacrifice instead. By the time that I need to use sacrifice my magogs will be useless, because all of my creatures should be right next to my opponents creatures anyway.

First DM
NO WAY ON THIS EARTH OR ANY OTHER
And secondly do your homework you fool Hudson was a PFC it's just he gets called Private in the film like all PFC's (the rank of Lance Corporal). I choose private because Private First Class was too long and people wouldn't recognise the link to Aliens
And in case you think this may be wrong read the scripts on the net for Aliens - That proves it!
